Number 5 piston has a chunk missing out of the edge by the upper ring. I endoscope the driver side pistons and found the problem! Need to pull engine and tear down to see if block is save-able or if scratches are too deep due to the damaged piston.
@0125FordBronco it’s amazing how well it runs with that damage. It’s a very small part of the piston that excited the chamber. Maybe size of your finger tip bit enough that the piston slaps the cylinder. I’ll do a video soon once it warms up. Engine has great power and idles smooth but noticeable blow by out the breather at 3k+ rpm and of course the tapping/ rattling. I’ve stopped driving it once I found the damage.
