    Pick apart some big woods, a piece of property that is 90% field is hard for us PA hunters to relate to!

    Love the idea of this series! I would have appreciated more detail maybe even marking stand locations and entry and exit routes. I was a bit confused when you started talking about a section of land that was off the property that was highlighted. Then with the winds you were talking about it seemed your wind would blow right back into the bedding you pointed out. I may have misunderstood but it didn’t seem to add up to me.

    I really can't wait to get out deer hunting but with the MA laws I might not be able to :/ I was in a accident and I can't pull my bow back. MA won't let me get a crossbow permit because my injury isn't permanent..but I have pretty severe nerve damage / loss of strength.. I'm so disappointed.. well anyways I love the podcast keep up the great work

  • @DiepBlueC
    @DiepBlueC 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This is a good idea for a series! However, as Josh below mentioned, this is really specific to eastern (whitetail?) hunts. It may be worth putting that in the title. It would also allow you to make a follow on video and highlight the preparation differences for a western hunt (mule deer). If you sprinkle the public land bit in, even better. As we try to grow the hunting population, helping people be successful on public land is huge.

    Nice. i plan to do just that. And toward the comments about private vs public, I'm lucky as these guys are to to be able to hunt both. My season is a pretty even mix of hunting private land I am very familiar with as well as public land in and outside of my home state. Would be foolish for MeatEater as a content focused company to focus only on one "kind" of hunting, albeit animal species or hunting style.

      Not gonna lie, I am not a huge Mark Kenyon fan. But, that being said, the guy has killed some really good bucks in a high pressure state and on public land. Just because I am not a fan of the guy doesn’t mean I can’t learn something from him. I would love to see these Midwestern guys come to the Southeast and hunt public land. When I say Southeast I am not talking Kentucky. I don’t know why Kentucky it thrown into the Southeast. Let’s see them hunt NC, TN, SC, GA, and AL. I have hunted public land in Michigan and Ohio deer are so much easier to get on than in the Southeast.

      I've gotta stick up for my guy Mark here. He is a strong advocate for public lands and does a good amount of his whitetail hunting on public. He keeps an open perspective and realizes there is things to learn from guys who hunt low pressure/managed private land to guys who are making it work on public. "Hard work" doesn't just apply to public land hunting, this guy puts a lot into getting info to everyone interested in deer hunting

    • @ASDEW1880
      @ASDEW1880 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alexstarzynski5496 yeah, I have nothing against Mark. From everything I've heard and watched he is a dilligent, focused and passionate hunter (much better than me) but it just seems eastern whitetail on private farms is the antithesis of the Meat eater brand and ethos and seeing this stuff on the MeatEater channel diminishes my romantic view of what Steve has done for the perception of modern conservation hunters.
