Forgot to mention I grew up eating dal and paratha roti in Guyana just like that. My great grandparents came from India. We fold out roti slightly different but same idea of how it is cooked. Our dal is similar also. Thanks for sharing. Some of my friends families also came from South India and Sri Lanka. So the connection way across the globe is there.
