As you started to play,(beautifully), I noticed the guitar had a slightly harsh or tinny edge to the tone... a sort of thin brittle attack to the note. Straight away I wondered if it was down to stainless steel frets. As it turns out, the guitar has, you told us stainkess steel frets (which is good for being long-lasting, but hard on string-wear) and although the sound is quite subtle and balanced, I can't avoid hearing a less than sweet, bland sort of mettalic thinness to the sound. I'm sure this is fine to some people, but to me it is a little harsh. So good to hear your beautiful playing which seems to get better every year.
The only different thing I would like is white or cream dots. Too hard to see the black on roasted maple. Beautiful sounding and looking guitar though.
Fantastic shade of pink, but that green pickguard is not for me. I won't even mention the price, if you have to ask you can't afford one! Very nice Jon, but these guitars are for bankers or film stars. Thanks giving us the chance to see and hear one. Whatever you do, don't put a mark on it.
Gorgeous guitar, but my God…. $4050.00? I had to double-check and make sure it didn’t have a Gibson headstock. With that money I’d probably just buy seven exquisite Sires… tax included!

I have this guitar w/ nickel frets (SS is an upgrade). I agree, stainless steel on a vintage sounding guitar is no bueno.
I know they use their own saddles of course , but what is the rest of the bridge? Gotoh?

The Xotic neck is very pretty, but overall the Shijie S and T types seem equal for 1/2 price - which do you prefer Jon (if allowed to say)?
