Great job, Erik! Interesting upgrade. I made a complete restoration on my Focus rear subframe, all bushings and bolts were replaced, paint job, new springs, but I've never thought there was any adjustable sway bars on the market. Thanks for sharing. Multilink rear suspension is one of the cool parts on a Ford Focus Mk1. Greetings from Hungary! :-)
@@Horus_Works Thank you! Yeah, January in Europe is a pain in the @ss.. Literally tons of salt on the roads. Try to prevent rust.. mission impossible. My next Focus project is front struts restoration, in March. What's yours?
@@Horus_Works I'm sad to read that. Steering is a quite important piece of a car. Keep up the good work! Interior? I'm workin' on the dashboard lights at the moment. Bulb change, LED upgrade.
Right now, I envy you for haveing summer. My 1.8 Zetec Focus shows clear signs that it needs a new clutch... Because the weather here, in Romania, is at its coldest, I won't do the job myself, as I'd like. I don't have the proper conditions. Some years ago I overhauled the entire rear suspension and in the last fall the entire front one. I don't know how things are in Australia, but here, in winter conditions, the roads are sprayed with salt. It helps defrosing the road surface, but it affects the cars. All the nuts and bolts become so rusty that any work under the car is painful. Seeing your car makes me think you don't have this problem. Lucky you! Thanks for the video. It is a delight seeing another diy-er tinkering a Focus. I'm also glad that some of your viewers ar my not so distant neighbors. Regards to all.
Thanks Octavian - and you are right, no salt on the roads here. Lucky for us that the winters don't get that bad. I know the Romanian winters well, I was born in Transylvania 😉 I hope Spring comes for you soon 👍
I used one of your videos as a guide for rear shock replacement. Thanks for the content. After reattaching my rear sway bar for a different repair, I found my ride height to be off with about 1/2” difference between the sides. I think I need to check the bolt height above the crossmember(?) that you point out in this video.
I know this has been here for a while, but its perfect timing for me again as I'm just replacing all the rear suspension components on mine and havent ordered a new ARB. So this will be the next job I guess. Handy that Whiteline are having a sale too! Thanks for the content, your videos definitely help me improve my Focus
Great straight forward instructions really useful. I hear a sound occasionally over big potholes. Like the idea of enhancement. Will watch you suspension video.
I just installed the Whiteline RSB (firmer setting) and holy smokes what an improvement over the Eibach bar. And the endlink design is excellent and won't bind. Tx for the video and keep up the great work
I have no direct experience with this, but yes, I am told that it is possible to install a rear sway bar. Have a look at the Instruction PDF on this website: www.steeda.com/steeda-focus-rear-sway-bar-00-11-all-555-1055 While the instructions say for 2006+ Focus, I do believe that the rear suspension is the same on every Focus up until around 2014. Steeda is selling this sway bar for the Mk1 so you should be fine. Reach out to them if you want to confirm 👍
Very nice brow! I'm sure it will be more durable and efficient. I put polyurethane bushings in mine and it was one of the best things I did. No more worries about noise or replacing!
The shipping was only $15. But this was because the company was sending a shipment to Australia anyway, so they just put mine in with their own shipment :)
Hey mate do you know anything about the front sway bar bushes in this model of car? My mum's car is making the ol' sway bar clunk noise but I'm struggling to find any information about the front bushes specifically.
Hey mate, you're going to have to take a look, but I'm guessing it will be the swaybar mounting bushes... Try Whiteline for quality replacement parts 👍
Enjoyed the video and very informative. Should help me a lot with the refresh on the rear end of mine that I’m currently doing. How did you on after you finished the installation? Did you try the softer position or stick with the firmer setting?
I've left it on the firm setting as I like the sharper steering. I'm even thinking about putting firmer springs on the rear... Thanks for your support I appreciate it, I hope I can count on your sub 👍

Yeah, I ran into your channel few weeks back. I have a 2002 SVT with 329,000 miles on it. It doesn’t look as nice as yours but pretty close. I took my car in for that clunking noise and vibration, and they didn’t find any issues with it. So now I want to upgrade the sway bar. And also do the suspension replacement. What do you use to clean the grease off your parts? I saw a can that was blue on it but I couldn’t see what product it was. When degreasing your engine area, can that harm your electrical wiring?
Hey Michael, thanks for watching. I just use regular brake cleaner or degreaser - I don't really have a preference on brand types. Cleaning electrical wiring is fine. Tyr not to wet more critical electrical components however - such as your alternator, fuse box, or distributor.

Hey Tony, thanks very much for your support 👍 I'm not sure if you can get one locally as mine came from the UK as well... but maybe someone like Steeda or FS Werks could get one into the country for you?
Hi Horus, congratulations on your videos! I live in France and have a Focus RS mk1, do you think this anti-roll bar could fit on my Focus? Thank you, and happy new year 2022! Pascal.
Hi Pascal, thanks for watching the vid! I think the best way to find out is for you to go under your car, and have a look at your rear sway bar. If it's 21mm or less in diameter, and mounts the same way as mine in the video, then this Whiteline sway bar will work for you. If your sway bar is thinker than 21mm then don't change it, because you won't see much improvement.
