I don't mind preservatives. They keep our products lasting longer and save $ in the long run. With all the products I try I'll probably use it once before it goes bad 😅

Like I said, it was hardly scientific because the original version I have is six months old or maybe even a bit older and of course with oxidation the formula can get thicker or thinner. But I do like the way this performs. I need to find out the shelf life on the original version. I’m sure it was longer than six months.
Wow this concealer looks fantastic on you! The Givenchy Prisme Libre concealer has me in a chokehold at the moment, I absolutely love it, but I'd like to try this Armani soon. I picked up the Armani Power Fabric + foundation a couple of months ago and I think it's an underrated gem, I am really enjoying it especially for long days in humid summer weather.

I am so suspicious of these reformulations. I think they get to virtue signal and say that they’re saving the planet while they sell us products we have to replace twice a year.
This is very helpful.. This old version of the concealer was my holy grail in shade 3.5. I couldn't find it anywhere until the reformulation so as soon as I'm done w my charlotte tilbury concealer, this new version will be in my line up!
I just bought this and really like it. Wears well in the heat and humidity and doesn’t act up with my 50 year old eye wrinkles. I don’t pay attention to shelf life honestly. If it starts to not perform as usual or smells off I toss it. Have a great weekend!

Rebecca, when I found my current 'perfect' concealer from Burberry, I bought another two! This way I'm covered from any re-formulating that is more like a virus running rampant from brand to brand at the moment. I've got a full coverage concealer from MUFE that I bought over a year ago from Sephora, but it's been out of stock since. Recently, just weeks ago, during their EOFY Sale, it suddenly popped back into stock at 30% off. As I only require a miniscule amount, I bought another. Word to the wise, for those beloved items we feel we can't live without - get a back-up if you must. Yet, always remember that the next new product just may be better. As I feel it was in this case. I got an email from GA and thought of you straight away! Oh no Rebecca isn’t going to like this! I think it’s all marketing! 6 month shelf life is a joke! Unless you have a small collection and use up makeup quick enough before the formula changing. Idk 🤷🏻♀️

The new one definitely covers more. Both, look smooth, but I like the new one better. I wear things past their shelf life, and I have never had a problem. I have the old one in shade 5, and really liked it. Even tough it’s “matte” it doesn’t dry me out or settle into lines. It looks like these new ones are different colors though, the new 5 looks like it has a peach undertone, so idk if that’s going to suit me or not. I’m almost done with my old one, and had it for a few years, and it’s been fine! However, I bought the new Chanel one, recently, and I really love that one, it’s #1 for me now.

The new one appears more matte which is not an improvement for me. But I’m super happy that you like it. The Lancôme Concealer lasted a year for me. I just replaced it with the Chanel Sublimage and I love the formula but have already grown weary of the jar. Probably won’t purchase again.
I love that Chanel product as well but I’m not in love with the jar. I just really don’t like having to stick my fingers into complexion products. Even if I’m sticking a little tool and it’s still messier than it needs to be.

I have NEVER had a concealer go off even past the open jar thing. Until I got the CT radiant one and it started to smell. So I think not only is 6 months too short but they MEAN 6 months. Before I used to have 12/24 month products for years past!

I recently found and LOVE the Chanel Sublimage concealer and have been reaching for it everyday since! It's amazing under my 55yr old eyes. But I am curious to try the new Armani and I think the new version covered much more on you. Would love to see it again with your full corrector routine and maybe swatches side by side on your arm to compare thickness ect. Thanks Rebecca

Isn’t that terrible? We are suspicious of some thing but it somehow becomes politically divisive. It makes me sad. I hear you though. The Reformulations allow them to have six month expiration dates.
Power fabric is my ultimate favourite concealer! The new formulation doesn’t seem to be available yet in the UK and stock has all but ran out of the old one; I’ve been told the new one has added glycerin and it’s coming to the UK next month…here’s hoping I like it as much as the old one!
I really like it and I still use it but the new formulation does somehow seem a tad bit thicker. It still works though. And we’re talking such a minimal amount thicker but, being the power fabric fan that you are, I think you might notice it. I would love to hear your thoughts once you get some.
That is a stellar point. Wow. Yes, let’s fill up the landfills faster. I do think a lot of places are making recyclable packaging so they say that you’re replacing it but recycling it and they get out of that one
Because it’s amazing. If you get a moment and, trust me I don’t blame you if you don’t have time, what is the shelf life on the box of your old version? Is it also six months? If so then we can ignore the six months on the new one. Because honestly I have some of mine for years. But the reformulated versions tend to like this six-month time limit and we know that they grow mold.

I'm not feeling these 6 month shelf lives. It's just too short. Ive had the same Fenty concealer for...a year and a half almost 2 years and I'm *maybe* half way through. Encouraging us to throw out our old contaminated makeup is good but 6 months isn't long enough either...
And I keep wondering if it’s just that I finally started to list shelflife and I’m looking at it more. I know even my older eyeshadow says 18 months and I’ve had it for three years. With the wet products, however, people are running into more trouble. I am on the hunt to find out the shelflife of the original version because I’ve had my different shades in the original version for years honestly and they’re fine. But this clean beauty, people are saying they see mold.
@NotFitforPrintBeauty yeah it's when it has the ability become moldy that I'm really not feeling it. Being cleaner, more green is great too but we need some of those chemicals to keep us safe from that mold! We need preservatives! And I remember when those shelf life symbols weren't even on all products and when that became the new mandatory thing...I'm feeling old now.
I would like to know if your original one has a strong alcohol smell. I'm concerned that I have it and it might be bad. I really hate the smell of it but mine has been like it from the day it was opened. You mentioned a concealer scent on the new one, I don't think you mentioned the scent of the old one.
I’m sure for a normal consumer, 6 months is plenty of time but for those of us with 20 concealers, not worth it. I feel like they should offer both versions. If someone prefers clean version, then they have that option.
The new one definitely gives you more coverage, question is does it do that without looking cakey or settling in lines which the original was so good at?

Litaelly hate that companies are doing this … my beloved Lancôme teinte idole and Dior concealers have changed for the worse … it’s super hard and frustrating . 😭I hate it so much
Dior is reformulating because of peer pressure. Customers want "natural" stuff, so we better comply (because revenue!) But most of the time brands reformulate because they have a hard time resourcing raw materials at a reasonable price (or *any* price! Sometimes materials just go extinct.) *BOOM!*
@pinksparkle258 I *adored* the Dior Nude foundation (the second iteration), and they discontinued that. It was one of those products where your skin looked better when you wash it off than before you put it on. /Trust me, I'm a copywriter!
I am somewhat embarassed to say that I am not a fan of concealer! I have several and rarely use them. I have 22 bottles of lovely foundation and only use the oldest in history Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation-Concealer. I just use that up under my eyes and I'm done. I wish I could unbuy all the concealers and foundations I have accumulated.....

Hi lovely Rebecca !! I love this concealer been using it for years . Not great about the 6 months shelf life , but great that it’s still really good 👍, but 6 months not sure how it will last for the price tag 😮🤗💕

I'm not feeling these 6 month shelf lives. It's just too short. Ive had the same Fenty concealer for...a year and a half almost 2 years and I'm *maybe* half way through. Encouraging us to throw out our old contaminated makeup is good but 6 months isn't long enough either...
And I keep wondering if it’s just that I finally started to list shelflife and I’m looking at it more. I know even my older eyeshadow says 18 months and I’ve had it for three years. With the wet products, however, people are running into more trouble. I am on the hunt to find out the shelflife of the original version because I’ve had my different shades in the original version for years honestly and they’re fine. But this clean beauty, people are saying they see mold.
@NotFitforPrintBeauty yeah it's when it has the ability become moldy that I'm really not feeling it. Being cleaner, more green is great too but we need some of those chemicals to keep us safe from that mold! We need preservatives!
And I remember when those shelf life symbols weren't even on all products and when that became the new mandatory thing...I'm feeling old now.

I would like to know if your original one has a strong alcohol smell. I'm concerned that I have it and it might be bad. I really hate the smell of it but mine has been like it from the day it was opened. You mentioned a concealer scent on the new one, I don't think you mentioned the scent of the old one.

I’m sure for a normal consumer, 6 months is plenty of time but for those of us with 20 concealers, not worth it. I feel like they should offer both versions. If someone prefers clean version, then they have that option.
That would lead more credence to the belief that they HAVE to Reformulate because of supply issues!

Why is every brand reformulating? At least it's not discontinued...still pissy over that Dior Airflash foundation 🤣
Dior is reformulating because of peer pressure.
Customers want "natural" stuff, so we better comply (because revenue!)
But most of the time brands reformulate because they have a hard time resourcing raw materials at a reasonable price (or *any* price! Sometimes materials just go extinct.)

@pinksparkle258 I *adored* the Dior Nude foundation (the second iteration), and they discontinued that.
It was one of those products where your skin looked better when you wash it off than before you put it on.

I am somewhat embarassed to say that I am not a fan of concealer! I have several and rarely use them. I have 22 bottles of lovely foundation and only use the oldest in history Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation-Concealer. I just use that up under my eyes and I'm done. I wish I could unbuy all the concealers and foundations I have accumulated.....
Embarrassed? I think it’s lovely you say this! And to know this about yourself so that you’re not wasting any more money on products you won’t have use for!
