  • The plaintiff says he sold the defendant his sectional couch, but the guy only gave him a partial payment. He’s suing for what he’s owed. The defendant claims the plaintiff actually still owes him for work done on his apartment, so he’s countersuing.

  • @shabazbaptiste688
    @shabazbaptiste688 2 ปีที่แล้ว +91

    Defendant is the classic example of “but I did this for you” when it’s time to pay. If he wanted his work to count as payment he should’ve said it IN the texts. Then he wants to call the dude ‘stingy’ but the defendant is CHEAP.

    • @feyfantome

      Not to mention as the property manager he would’ve been required to do that work (or pay someone to do it) regardless: he simply would’ve removed the costs from the deposit. So it’s moot regardless-it would be a separate issue unless there was some contract/agreement he would remove the cost from the purchase of the sofa

    The defendant doesn't know how to count, he was counter-suing for $200 and as he said 'that's for the paint and ceiling fans', yet he was withholding $400, so even with his own logic he still owed the plaintiff $200 and he has the cheek to call the plaintiff stingy...

    • @benjie128

    idk how it works in America with morals but here in Australia, if somebody lends a helping hand and theres no mention of doing it for some cash or anything in return, that person still usually gets brought a carton of beer for helping out. Just the customary thing to do without a deal having to be worked out.

      america is so big so i don’t know what it’s like in other places, but that’s how we are in minnesota! if it’s not a monetary compensation, we try to do something nice. like next time you go out for lunch, you pick up the tab. etc.

      Same her up in Canada, and for the most part guys usually follow through with the beer. But there are times when they say I owe u a beer and then you never get that beer. I helped My fairly new neighbor to straighten up his gate on his fence... I was doing some work for my other neighbors,and he asked me how to do it first,then after I told him what he needed to do,he was at a loss. So I figured it's always good to help out the younger generation and offered to help him....well I even supplied some materials and my tools,we worked on digging the ground down around the post so we could straighten and then tamp it in better than it was,then we squared up the gate and put a proper brace in ...all in all a couple of hours , I had my own things to do ,so when he offered me a beer after we were done,I declined and said some other time though... Well they moved about a year later and I never got the beer.🤣😂🤣 He did give me an old tablesaw that I plan on restoring some day.
      Side note his wife was an amazing women from Australia. They were both good people,I miss them much. The new neighbors have a barking dog🤬😉

    Yeah, after watching PC for a while, here's how you handle this couch purchase. You write a contract stating the terms and payments, you state that receipts will be provided with each payment, buyer and seller BOTH have copies of each receipt, and the couch will be given to the buyer upon completion of the last payment along with a receipt. No final payment ,,, no couch.
