Like cmon now like if God was doing all this stuff to help people against oppressors and such back in the day then why tf is our world run by scamming pedophiles like the society we live in pretty much proves there's no higher power willing to help people we could've advanced ten fold if we weren't getting our money stolen for these dickheads to buy drugs and sex slaves

@@AidanParish-ev7lf In the early 2000s, amateur historian Mary Jean Cook theorized the probable builder of the staircase as François-Jean "Frank" or "Frenchy" Rochas (1843-1894), a reclusive rancher and occasional carpenter who came to New Mexico from France around the 1870s. It’s more a theory than an empirical fact. So, if true, still miraculous? I believe so. It’s the totality of the circumstances and of course, the timing and symbolism. None of this had to happen, but it did. The mysterious nature of this story is accentuated by several points that could have simple explanations standing alone, but it’s the fullness of the staircase construction story from beginning to end that onlookers marvel at. ❤️‍🩹👍

Why would the carpenter want to make his job so much more difficult by choosing not to use the centre column with attached threads ?
It would have maybe even taken a little less space in the chapel.
Finding the reason, will solve some of the mystery about it.
The centre column would not need to be made from a single tree trunk, so the lack of big enough tree could be excluded already.

The Loretto Chapel staircase is a remarkable architectural feat, but not a mystery. It is a double helix spiral staircase that was built by a carpenter named Francois Jean Rochas in the late 1870s. He used wood pegs and an inner stringer to support the structure, which has no central pole or newel. The wood he used was a type of spruce, which he probably obtained from a nearby source. The staircase was designed to fit the small space of the chapel and to access the choir loft. The legend that the staircase was built by St. Joseph or a mysterious stranger is not true, but rather a result of the lack of documentation and the admiration of the sisters of Loretto who commissioned the chapel.
    Some additional sentences are:
    • The staircase has 33 steps, which some people believe is a symbolic reference to the age of Christ at his death. However, this is likely a coincidence, as the number of steps was determined by the height of the loft and the angle of the staircase.
    • The staircase is still standing today and is open to the public as part of the Loretto Chapel museum and wedding venue. It is considered a masterpiece of craftsmanship and a beautiful example of Gothic Revival style.
    • The staircase has been featured in several books, documentaries, and movies, such as the 1998 film "The Staircase," starring Barbara Hershey and William Petersen. It has also attracted the interest of engineers, historians, and tourists who marvel at its design and construction.

There is no mystery here, and definitely no miracle ! It was built by an expert carpenter, yes. But it was unstable and unsafe from the get go as it had a steep incline, so much so that the nuns had to crawl down to prevent falling. And an iron railing had to be added years later to prevent accidents. In fact it hasn’t been used as a staircase for decades to prevent structural collapse. The staircase does have a central wooden support, an inner wooden stringer of small diameter which functions as a solid pole. We also know the name and origin of the french carpenter who definitely had an entire and comprehensive set of tools, which has also been documented. There was payment made for services rendered as there were receipts found and we even know where he is buried. Spruce is the wood that is was made of, which is hardly uncommon in the Americas. Samples of the wood are not allowed to be taken for scientific examination, so it’s impossible to determine the exact species of spruce used. Wooden pegs were the norm at the time since iron nails were expensive and difficult to come by. The church is a privately owned ‘for profit museum’ so there is an obvious financial incentive and motive to perpetuate a ‘miraculous’ mystery, especially in a religious setting. And lastly, the ‘mysterious carpenter’ rode in on a donkey you say, well he definitely made asses of a lot of believers ! 🙄🤦🏽‍♂️🤣

Why was the choir loft built with no stairs in the first place?
Why would it be constructed like that?

😂This is a parable from the book of failing to act. It's about women waiting for a man to rescue them. The nuns went 3 months and 9 days without thinking to buy a ladder. This guy got shelter from the desert and 90 days of great food out of the deal!!!
    Women...sheesh!!!

Its called the Sashimono method of woodworking and this is a tourist trap. It's not even a recognized church within the Catholic religion. 100% for profit business attached to a hotel without any religious relationship.

That's the thing. The local lumber yard didn't give any or have any orders and there was no outstanding debt at the end. The nuns went to square up with them because they figured there would be a debt. They knew nothing about it. When tested it showed to be a cousin of an Alaskan tree. But not one that we know of.
