And I'm sure a special forces guy or two remained behind more than likely for CIA shit, either way I wouldn't call them cowards. Ever heard of Roy Benevidez? If not well, Americans are always outnumbered yet we still kick ass. The only cowards are those at home who sent them the politicians who record to pull a 180 when too many casualties posed a problem.... The only objective that the entire of the U.S. military failed to accomplish was the defeat of the NVA and VC as a whole. We won most if not all emgagements but the protracted conflict could've spanned more than just a decade as it had. China and the USSR would've gotten involved..... Don't call U.S. troops cowards. Don't care who or what but if you havent fought with or even against them your simpleton opinion doesnt matter so I guess whatever floats ya boat, in the end its always someone asking the U.S. military to deal with a problem or two....😂😂😂😂

    I'm 48 and after my time in normal forces, I found myself in the contracting world post 9-11. In 16 years combined, I met one person, just one, that was Tier 1. There might have been others, but they rightly say nothing. We met him because he was a primary instructor and original member of six.

  • @jamal69jackson77
    @jamal69jackson77 3 ปีที่แล้ว +81

    I was invited to try out for CAG back when I was on active duty and I did attend their recruiting brief. However, one of my really good buddies back in the day, who is no longer with us, actually tried out for Delta and he came back to our unit after his attempt a broken man. I always felt he was a much bigger stud than me and although he did not go into much detail about his experience, what little he told me was enough for me to know that I was probably never going to be cut out for Delta in spite of what I considered to be, my high level of skills and pain tolerance. I can say from what little I know about trying out for Delta, that if you aren't totally sure that Delta is the life for you, than it is probably 100% absolutely not for you. Selection seems beyond brutal and not for most and it has the potential to only get more challenging and brutal if you are actually selected. Cheers and respect to those who form part of the few Tier 1 units.

    • @dallasyap3064

      Delta is very very difficult. The fail rate is around 95% or higher.

    • @jamal69jackson77
      @jamal69jackson77 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@dallasyap3064 everyone already knows and pretty much expects the attrition rate with Delta selection to be quite high due to the physical demands, but what a lot of people don't expects is that there are really high, somewhat ambiguous and even bizarre psychological expectations... so even if you pass every physical aspect, you have a high chance of still not being selected.

    • @dallasyap3064
      @dallasyap3064 3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@jamal69jackson77 many people think Navy SEALs training are the hardest actually. But of course we know that's not the case. Delta selection is very demanding physically and mentally, long distance ruck march with time limit, lesser time as each march progresses. Multiple interviews by psychologists, instructors and the commander. Yes true even if they pass the physical training, they may not be selected.

    • @jamal69jackson77
      @jamal69jackson77 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@dallasyap3064 well I think that the difficulty between SEALs and Delta is really subjective. They have many similarities but what seriously distinguishes between them is the aquatic/maritime aspect of SEALs... and I know Delta and other Army special operations units do train in and conduct some aquatic/maritime operations, but that is not their bread and butter, whereas the SEALs really outshine any other branch in that respect. So if someone is really comfortable on land but not particularly strong in the water, technically, SEAL training and operations would possibly be much more challenging and difficult for them than Delta. I also do not know the first thing about their SEAL Team 6 requirements, which is their version of Tier 1 ops. I worked with regular SEAL units in the past and they honestly have my utmost respect, they are cool, solid dudes. They have a few bad apples, but so does everyone else. Anyhow, my friend told me some of the psychological questions he was asked during his Delta evaluations and they are questions that really catch you off guard and test your inner self. Honestly, I don't even understand how anyone could answer any of those questions correctly or how they expect you to answer, but I think that perhaps they are looking more at your demeanor, honesty or mindset than your actual answer, because the questions are bizarre, challenging and seriously uncomfortable.

    • @dallasyap3064
      @dallasyap3064 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@jamal69jackson77 yes I totally agree with u. Yes true that Delta is trained in combat diving but not up to the level of their maritime counterpart, someone who can go through Delta training but who isn't comfortable with water can find SEAL training harder. SEAL Team 6 requirement is pretty much similar to Delta except that most but not all candidates are regular SEAL Teams, a fraction of them are from Navy SWCCs, Navy EODs, Navy Divers, and Navy SARCs. SEAL Team 6 training is easier compared to Delta, their fail rate is 50+% while Delta's fail rate is 95% or higher. SEAL Team 6 focus more on counter-terrorism and hostage rescue missions, usually regarding to maritime environment cuz that's their nature. Yes true there are a few apples among the good ones sometimes. Delta's psychological questions are really hard, that's what I read too, they literally ask all types of useful or useless questions with the sole purpose of breaking u down mentally and psychologically as well as to test your inner self, mindset, reaction, respond, behaviour etc. They aren't looking for the best guys but the right guys, so candidates who passed the grueling selection can still fail the very challenging evaluation. That's why Delta Force is super hard to get into. Your friend is a Delta Force operator, that's very awesome. One thing I don't like how Delta Force is used particularly in the Iraq war, is that they are used for raids against enemy targets that aren't that highly valuable. And these not very HVT raids were so often that Delta received quite an amount of casualties as compared to its size. I read before that they were running about 300 raids in their 4 month duty tour, and another one where they ran about 100 raids in a month and suffered quite a number of casualties. Those raids can be done by tier 2 special operations forces, hell even 18th Airborne Corps units like the 101st, 82nd etc can do those raids too. Delta only has selection twice a year, and only very few new operators are added in bcoz of high fail rate, so I believe Delta should really use its members and assets wisely and not waste it on low value targets. They should be used only for the most HVTs like Osama, Saddam, Al-baghdadi Mullar Omar etc.

      I would say they came to work together out of necessity of the situation.
      A lot changed in the US military. One of the greatest examples was the reserve components which were viewed as more strategic reserves before 9/11 and are now viewed as operational reserves.
      So more then likely both Delta and SEAL Team 6 had to learn to work together due to the high operational tempo

      That goes in both ways tho, as according to some the 2011 raid on Osama bin-Laden was supposed to be a Delta operation, yet the SEALS got to do it, allegedly because at the time there were many high ranking Navy officers within JSOC, who simply favoritized DEVGRU and kept pushing their agenda. Rumour has it taking that legendary mission away from them REALLY pissed off the Delta guys and even to this day they still take jabs at the Seals.

    I come from a military family. Had 7 uncles in WW2, in both theaters, luckily all of them made it back. Also had several cousins that went to Viet Nam. Not so lucky there. Some of them came back a bit broken, and my favorite one, a few years after returning, took his life. War is a horrible thing, but we need to be prepared for it just the same. I'm 60 now, and when I was 16, they had just come out with the green cards for selective service, and got the papers signed to go ahead and sign up. Passed everything, but took the physical last, and failed the eye test, and was not allowed to serve. Still a bit angry about that to this day...Life could have been very different for me, but you play the cards you are dealt.
    I had several people in my family that were 'attached' in one way or another to Special Forces, and just stumbled across your channel. Over the years not only have I read quite a bit of factual material concerning the subject, but have had the honor of knowing several people that have served in this area. Really like your channel, seems to be very accurate.
    Most people would be very surprised at whom they might be standing next to in a line at a Supermarket, or sitting near in a Diner, or talking to at a cookout, or a kids baseball game, never knowing that the guy they were talking to or standing near was once a Tier One Operator. They can be the nicest guys. These are always the ones you will notice that are kind to animals, will help the elderly, or the guy in the scooter chair with his or her groceries...always the nicest people you could ever hope to run into. Until they are not....
    I can say from watching things happen in the past, if pushed too far, when they hit the 'not' mark, just get out of the way. 'Nice' goes right out the window.

      The 24th STS actually is comprised of mostly Combat Controllers and Pararescuemen. They are still tough and capable in fact they also have high attrition rates, but they are more of like support roles. For Combat Controllers, their primary mission is to provide air support, close air support and all sorts of air ground communication for the team they are attach to. For Pararescuemen, their primary mission is to provide medical evacuation, personnel recovery and pretty much all types of combat and non-combat medical treatment for the team and other allied forces (if any are serving alongside). That's their primary mission but they are also capable and can conduct other special operations mission sets like direct action, special reconnaissance and others that the team they are attached to are tasked to carry out. That's why u see Combat Controllers and Pararescuemen don't operate as a 1 whole team of themselves, they are usually attached to other SOFs.

      dallas yap I’ve seen them in action and wasn’t entirely impressed, not saying their not Legitimate Tier 1 players but I saw more production and destruction from MARSOC then STS. They seemed to just fall in line behind the other assaulting elements with their high speed rifles and Kevlars.

      jersylife86 Yeah I heard you got to have +4 years in the military, and be SF, a Ranger or Airborne. To be qualified, for Delta Force. From what I’ve seen and heard it’s one of the most physically demanding training regiments in the world!

      Same with devgru you need to pass the buds and be a navy seal, before you could undergo another training and be part of team6/devgru.
      Although their status as silent professionals has been tainted with so many scandals lately, theyre skills are still top tier

      Max Snellink of The United Kingdom Army, Thank You for Your British Military Service, however, why is it that You solely comment on My Comments, not on the video at hand, and, did not bother to comment on the responses of those who queried on the matter of " Where's Your Head At?" And Max, Why are You not taking the 🔥💥 Fight to these Perfidious Perverts, whether or not They are Themselves Military, Veterans,or , Civilians? Are You afraid of the Prison, if You get caught? If You claim to be a Badass Battlefield British Army Veteran, then , You utilize Your Military Forces training and experience, and , dispatch Them with rapidity, vigor, speed, surprise, and violence of action. Otherwise, this is pointless and nothing more than bluster, bravado, and Tough Tony talk. Rodriguez from Tucson, Roger Out!!🇺🇸🦅🗽⚔️😠😡
