No, Kievan Rus isnt Russia, just like Roman Empire isnt Italy. But they derived from the past and they are genetically identical. Italians have Roman roots they look a like, they speak almost same language which is Latin. Same in Russia/Ukraine/Belarus whatever you want to call them. The people share same ancestry, they look a like they speak same language and share same culture.
