  • What do you think about the new automated car park at SM Mega Mall?
My mother would love this because she could park without worrying about door dings 🤣
It seems like a super efficient use of space and this is just two of the 23 clusters they’re planning to put into operation by the first quarter of 2020.
This Intelligent parking system is designed and made in Japan. They promote it as having a low environmental impact, quick construction, requiring minimal changes to existing landscape and transferable if you need to move it in the future.
This isn't the first smart parking system I've seen in the Philippines but it's certainly the largest.
In the video I said it's an 8 by 5 cluster but actually it's two seperate clusters which are 4 by 5 each

This is the first video I watched where parking a car became exciting or entertaining to watch. 😊 But yes the Japanese for years have also had the problem of parking space. It's refreshing to see SM invest in such technology.

Thank you for opening the comment section- so much livelier for your excellent videos! Not all have FB accounts (or want to have one!).
Saw this parking gizmo in Washington DC many decades ago- it always scared the heck out of me! Always worried about the cars getting dented and scratched.
In Pinas, the problem may arise when there is a power outage- which is not uncommon! Unless there is some kind of mechanical override of the automatic/electric function.

With the exorbitant parking fees all over the metro, there really should be standards in place for parking facilities, specially those found in Ortigas and Makati CBDs. You’d see a lot that are unpaved (muddy and littered with puddles when its rainy), and with little to no lighting (quite unsafe when it’s already dark).

this is cool. but what if I just need to place some stuff in my car and need to go back to the mall? i hope they'd allow us to fetch our vehicles and then put it back in a slot.
