For the question at 8:50 we usually try to have our feet land on the downbeat in each measure of music except for when it’s in a weird time signature, and half or double time. The way I think of it is trying to match the feet with the music and making sure they match up with the musical phrase and the marching formation. When we don’t play we usually do count what we are marching. Also for 15:17 the shield is our Corps symbol. I’m also very thankful for all your kind words about what we performed.

It was a stellar performance. How long did you all train for this routine?

@@WhyAmIReactingFor practicing in total including music and visual we had a weekend camp over each month from January to June, then we had around 4 weeks on almost continuous practice in July. Also for the one triangle formation there was sometimes where we would spend more than half of practice working on that one formation.

The shield you saw was the Columbians' Logo. They call it "The Shield on the Field".

The work and dedication that has to go into something like this. Kudos to the entire group, which did a wonderful job. When I was little, we lived up a steep hill from a large freshwater bay. There was a drum and bugle corp that practiced on the other side of that bay. By the time the sound got to my house, all you could hear were the drums. My Dad, bless his Irish trickster's heart, always told me that was the sound of indians in the woods playing their war drums. It was a very effective way of keeping me out of the woods.

I really urge you to react to more of DCI, there are a whole lot of shows from corps that are unique in their own way which maybe you may find very cool!
