This might be my favorite version of this. I love how light the tone is and at the same time all of those staccato high notes are laborious sounding and profound. This piece really shows off what is unique and hard about the flute all at once. I don't like players who "make it seem effortless". It's not! It's actually pretty difficult and I love to see and hear a musician work. It's just fantastic to me.
