This person is playing the presto section 6 beats faster then Sir James Galway does. I have the vinyl record that he did several years ago with his personal pianist Phillip Moll. I also saw him perform this song live in concert in November of 1994 with Phillip Moll.
After a 20 year hiatus, I decided to buy another flute and get back into it. I had forgotten about this piece! I think that i might try to work this back up, however, I’m pretty sure that my cats won’t like it because of the high register!!! (They don’t like my flute to begin with, lol!!!)
Comparing Fret (this performance) and Galway's, I honestly almost like Fret's more. To put it simply, Fret's energy and choice in musicality and how he interpreted this piece was magnificent and I prefer his to Galway's; however you can clearly hear Galway at all times which I really appreciate. Personally I prefer Fret's performance but if I had to be unbiased, I'd have to say they are both even in quality and have different faults and wonderful strengths
Yes, I noticed that too….he is drowned out by the piano for a section. Must have been just a fluke …. They wouldn’t have intended that. Love the variety of vibrato, dynamics, colour choices, tempo choices…..Beautiful work they’ve done.
i have spent so many hours crying over this
What I’m literally doing rn dude✌️
@Paul Kamden scam - report
YUP.
I think I shall be joining you looking at the last section :/ Can you play it now?
Sad…
Magic piece, with jazzistic airs in the presto. Full of pasion and very well written, lovely
Мне очень нравится!❤❤❤ Прекрасно, трогает душу.😢❤🙏

0:00 Cantabile
4:01 Presto
elegant
The Presto section reminds me of a Tom and Jerry episode 😂

superb
The beginning parts of both the piano and flute sound like Johanna from Sweeney Todd
i was thinking of that as well!
More like Sweeney Todd sounds like this.
Frumos 😇😏
best version undoubetdly
I am only a freshmen and I have to play all of that😦
On which instrument?
Bruh I’m in 7th grade
Same feels bad
Yudi Sanchez I'm a sophomore so I was flexed on without consent
Elise Keefer bruh same
For sheer elegance I prefer Peter Lukas Graf.
