First space marines game on the 360 is an underrated classic. I remember it was one of the most downloaded demos in the 360s lifespan.
I super vaguely remember playing the demo myself and I always had the memory of the game but no clue it was W40k. I was like 11 at the time so it was just fun to me.
Can I still play the demo?

I mean this is exactly what I think when I hear space marines vs the Tyranids. So I felt this was expected to look like this.
I’m just hoping that when in game it’s not thousands of untouchable troops running by like a lot of older games. And it’s troops that you can actually have effect and take down.
It is. I am just annoyed since all of the WWZ survivors only have 2 or 3 battlecries so they will repeat a lot in Horde Mode.

I am all for 360 era game design, In Halo you essentially do the same thing for the entire campaign, but the gunplay is so good that it doesn't matter. The variety in halo (and a game like this) comes from the level and encounter design, if a game manages to have a satisfying gameplay loop (seemingly a lost art in many modern singleplayer games) the fact that the gameplay itself is repetitive isn't an issue.
halos gameplay is unbearably dated i hate to say. i love the series but without some kind of flare to combat its mind numbingly boring. although, good writing is an exception. if its interesting enough i can stay with it.
like bioshock is still mega fun to play to rhis day. halo 4? nope. this game has fun enough gameplay, effects, sound design, visuals and lore are incredible and if youre a 40k fan its more than enough.
-Operations Mode is not campaign replays, it's a different squad. Titus will give orders to this squad during the campaign, and in operations you play as that squad.
-There is no pay to win. The microtransactions are strictly tied to cosmetics.
Operations will surely be maps from the Campaign. Or at least half.
I fell in love with Warhammer after completing the Chaos Gate Daemonhunters. I feel very bad for not being exposed to this franchise before. Very excited for this one.
Could i ask how would one get into warhammer perchance only exposur to it is the vermintide games?
Not a Warhammer fan but I do very much have respect for the franchise. This game will be my first exposure to the world.

@@Kaids-comicsIf you’re not into table top. There is Rogue Trader, which is a CRPG (meaning like, old school make meaningful choices, chose class, background, role play, kind of game). There is also Mechanicus, which is, I believe, a story based strategy game, however it focuses very specifically on the Adeptus Mechanicus, which are awesome, but it’s a very niche non representative part of the Imperium. Besides games there are plenty of books ofc. Also if you like shooting hordes of heretics in online co op, play Darktide, I love it.
The space marines are rare so it makes sense the Guard are whispering that they seen one that’s a cool touch .
They said there would be no cash shop, but cosmetics and DLCs would still be purchasable, most likely only via Steam's store.
I assume the cosmetics sold as such will be similar to Space Marine 1's ; full armor skins representing unique chapters, chaos and loyalist alike.

In case it hasn't been said yet, devs confirmed there will be no microtransactions.
Remember that there will be lots of content updates, there are more gamemodes, and they are still working on it! It will be an amazing game!

I'm buzzed for this. I never thought we'd get a Space Marine II, and it looks like such a throwback to the 360 era. Hopefully the game is really successful and that we get more games like this.
It reminds me of when you played halo and the Marines would see Chief and oo and ahh at him as some god like warrior. In in titanfall when regular soldier's would cheer as a pilot ran by. That feeling of being the "hero" is something awesome that games can bring.
I wouldn't call Cadians regular humans. I didn't have constant military drills since I was 5. 😁

I think it’ll be fine. Helldivers 2 only has 2 types of enemies with different variations of said enemies and I still play the shit out of it. I’m hoping that once I’m done with the story mode that coop campaign will add more variety towards missions. Also that said coop mode will be focused more for the game’s longevity by adding different missions in the future. Then there is MP mode which looks bonkers. The only down side is see with MP is that the maps look very small. Hopefully there will be different sizes upon release or in future installments. Also, if possible, a more Battlefield style mode with big war style moments and adding tanks and dreadnoghts. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤘🤘🤘.

First things first, I am subscribing because I love your in depth analysis, second I am going to buy this game before it even gets reviewed, (which usually I don't do) . I don't care. They have a single player campaign and PvP mode , and it looks GORGEOUS... I am sold.

I"m looking forward to it. Really enjoyed SM back in the day and this just looks even better. For a WH 40K fan this looks at least like a 9 or 10 out of 10.

for cosmetics i don't know why some companies don't do what deep rock does. Where they have the supporter packs they release every season that is like super super cool for real money but they release a lot of free cosmetics that get earned in game.

Absolutely. Play the first one if you want but this second one looks perfect to take a deep dive
The first game, I would say no. The first game kind of drops you into the universe without explaination. It doesn't tell you what a space marine is, what the imperium is, what the names are, nothing. And so far for every 40k game it does the same thing. I do kind of recommend playing that before this one, but its been 13 years and there is only 1 or 2 plot threads to follow from the first game
Granted, I got into 40k because I gave Space Marine a second chance. I was frustrated I couldn't understand the lore the first time. Took my second time to realize it isn't about the story and lore, Warhammer 40k is all about the vibe. It is about being a badass in a universe set out to kill you and everyone you know. There is alot of lore, but Warhammer 40k is like a massive storytelling sandbox, you're given all these factions, all the factions have a bunch of themes and characteristics, and it is up to you to put them together and make something out of the pieces.
If you want to get into 40k from a story standpoint, there are some novels but some aren't a good introduction. Many point to the novel The Infinite and the Divine (I haven't read this one) but I heard it is a great stand-alone novel. To me, it isn't a good introduction to the core of 40k. Alot of them aren't.
Really, my introduction to the story side of 40k are specific youtube channels. Mr. Bones 40k is a good channel with shorter videos that explains things in layman's terms. I recommend the playlists "Meet the Legions" and "Meet the Primarchs." Lsyander and Koda (name of the channel) does a podcast of the same name (And yes spelled lsyander not lysander). They also have loads of youtube shorts that come from their podcast. Each episode is about an hour long, but very entertaining. I don't listen to podcasts but I'll listen to them while I'm at the gym. Very chill, kind of funny. There are other channels but those ones are what hooked me.
Overall I'd say find a faction that you like, and then start pursuing those novels and when you find something else that interests you, follow that too. So for me, I found I really like the Salamanders chapter/legion of space marines, so I got some of those novels and started reading. Then I was interested in the event called the horus heresy, so I got the Horus Rising audiobook, then I was interested in the Ultramarines, so I went into the book Nightbringer, which is the first Uriel Ventris book (I recommend this, consistently entertaining).
There is an Amazon Prime show in the works headed by Henry Cavil too, so keep your eye out for that. I'm going to assume that show aims to be good for fans and new people.

@@beerus8564 I definitely also recommend you to watch the "every warhammer 40k faction explained" video's by "Bricky".
I saw them when I already watched a ton of lore videos but Bricky is a very likeable youtuber and he manages to condense a lot of information in 2 (quite long but entertaining) videos while also incorporating some humour. They're just great videos overall, for newcomers and fans alike. (yes Im glazing but I don't care).
Luetin09 is also great but he does deep dives into specific lore stuff that can be very overwhelming for newcomers.
Some of my friends even find his style a little boring bc he does a lot of talking with some b-roll but I don't since Im already extremily invested in the lore.
Im sure there's also space marine (first game) summarized vids floating on the interwebs if you aren't planning to play the first game.

Devs said no ingame shop btw, so likely can't buy anything other than complete skins as "DLC" like in SM1.
There’s going to be a battlepass but yeah as far as we know no in game shop. Just possible packs for skins available outside the game.

@@DeathcoreOfKrieg yeah as far as I know. All campaign customization, all chapter/legion skins and colors are free.
The battlepass will probably just be alot of gold decoration and weapon skins. If it is just alot of gold a decent number of people probably wouldn’t care too much for it anyway.
Overall I’d way prefer the battlepass than the cash shop route.

@@DeathcoreOfKrieg because a battlepass usually has multiple skins and gun skins while being 10-20 dollars.
Where a cash shop is 20-40 dollars for one skin with almost nothing else. See halo infinite as an example.

I remember reading somewhere that they confirmed NO microtransactions, all of the currency you get in the game is only gotten from playing the game and the only things you can buy with real money is cosmetic DLC packs. That being said I hope they stick to that, wouldn't be the first time a developer said this and immediately went behind our backs.
Tbf, usually it is not something the developer chooses. A company is built on different teams, and in alot of cases, developers are not the ones making the big choices like microtransactions.
Dude, do your homework. They already said no mtx and cash shop in game, only cosmetic DLC through the season pass.
As a warhammer fan boy it’s the online game I’m excited about.

seems like the wwz game just in the warhammer 40k universe. the ai in that game were horrible they would run into a horde and it will take them 20 seconds to pick you up when your being eaten by zombies
Helldivers 2 lost 90% of its players. I’m sure war hammer will grab some of them

I keep coming back to Helldivers. A lot of those players will too. Not everyone can play the same game forever.

No cover system, no timed reload. Just good old shooting and charging into melee. Execute enemies to replenish health. Well in SM2 it will be armor instead.
It gives a similliar feel, but they play very differently. Andy did a good job explaining it, pretty much.
I really wanted to play helldivers 2. I really did. Only to look 👀 b the Xbox store and… yeah I found it was exclusive 😅(on me I guess). Hoped they would port it but after the PSN drama and everything else my hopes just kinda died down. I’ll just for Space Marine 2.
This is why my Xbox is a paperweight now. Anytime any game worth talking about drops it’s not on Xbox. Just sell it and invest in a cheap gaming laptop.
I am kind hyped for this game but i know almost nothing about the Warhammer 40k lore... Will it be a problem for me ?
It won’t be a problem for gameplay but as far as understanding the story and why things are happening that could cause you issues. I’d recommend watching some 40k lore surrounding the Horus Heresy then some lore about Hive Fleet Leviathan because that is the Tyranids being fought in this game and the newest books/lore.
As someone who had a complete lack of knowledge when i played my first warhammer 40k game, i would advice you to either look for youtube lore videos, or the huge warhammer 40k wiki. But it is absolutely not important, unless you really wanna understand the story.
combat is fine... but how does it play? Tell us ffs. Does it play exactly like SM1 or does it have a parry system? How do the guns feel? Anything?

Only 2 types of this enemy for 30 minutes* it's a different problem. Small bugs and a little bit bigger bugs for 30 minutes is a serious issue, tyranids have a lot more species, there is no need to repeat 2 of them for 30 minutes.
Could be just the demo build where the enemies types are limited as to not spoil enemies they haven't revealed yet. I've seen in newer trailers where it had new tyranids present in the same level as the demo people played.
Even then this dudes being very pessimistic when its practically the same for every game where you fight the same enemy for hours and shows his short attention span. Also keeps comparing the game to Gears clearly shows he has never played the first
@@zergrush_9704 we have seen many more enemies so far in what theyve revealed including ravernors, lictors, hive tyrants, carnifexes, rubric marines, tzaangors, scarab occult terminators, i think i remember seeing an exalted sorcerer too all to go with the termigaunts/hormigaunts, warriors w/wo range weapons, and spores. there may be more hidden away yet to be revealed and i think if they are following the same kinda gameplay theory of the first game ull get new baddies sprinkled in at increasing frequencies as the campaign goes on. in SM1 the first hr of the game was pretty much nothing but basic slugga boyz and gretchin then they started adding shootas, then squigs, then nobz, then shoota nobz, 'ardboyz, weirdboyz. right about the time u had access to all the weapons and had encountered all the ork enemies then the shook it up with chaos. so i dont think enemy variety of the pace of getting to the new enemies will be a problem

It is doubtful that we will ever get the Warhammer 40k game we all want to have and play. I would say never, but never is a hard promise not to keep. Luke, I respect your ideas and opinions on games. Expecting perfection...... is fantasy. We have to accept what creators; create. Don't have to like it, but it is what it is. It may not be all we want but it is what they give us. We can enjoy it for what it is: instead of what it could of, should of, would have been. Not being negative towards you. Just an observation. Being critical is awesome, being too critical is meh.
No one tell angry Joe that they are going to charge 60$ for blue because that's what you get in the base game
i have reservations with this game, looks too good. I can see this having a ton of issues at launch with MP and general performance.

WH40K is essentially that guy at the party who, no matter what cool story you tell, always did something better. Not just that, WH40K is that guy **on purpose**. It's a design philosophy.

I just want a good 40k game that isnt an RTS. And yea i know darktide exists but it runs like ASS on pc. Literally every other game i play is usually over 100fps but im getting constant drops into the 20s
Not a fan of the co-op being an entirely separate mode that's locked to only a few missions, probably horde-style. Feels like they're not taking the co-op seriously. Probably really low replayability.
Everything you voiced about repetition has been my main concern with this game. It reminds me of the great reception Helldivers 2 got when it released but now the playerbase is falling off due to the repetitive nature of the game. I really hope this won't be a story only game where once its done that's it and then the game is forgotten. Hopefully this won't be the case but I'm not going to hold my breath. There's been many disappointments in gaming recently so it won't be anything new if this joins them.
not every game needs 5000 hours of gameplay, whats wrong with a nice tight 40-80 hours of entertainment than move on to the next

There are thousands of space marines so no shot he’ll be playing Titus. Warhammer has so much depth that there’s really no telling who he’ll play until it happens

Imagine an alternate universe where there's a bunch of losers who play games and grind them, and on rare occasion then with their friends, only to show off how much they do play those said games without their friends, and there is an even smaller number of people who do that same thing only to show off how much money they wasted, to their friends, and there's an even much smaller proportion of people who actually spend a lot of money on those things except they don't have any friends and they spend all of their money on it flexing on random people that they don't know, about how much they do not have a life.
