I'd love that Gary Numan box (I have a standard double edition). Lots of familiar and great records in this video. Unknown Pleasures is one of my all time favourites.

Really enjoyed the vid. Such a challenge to capture the best of post punk and new wave in ten albums. I would struggle to do it in twenty. You included quite a few of my absolute favourites- Chameleons, Modern English, Joy Division. I couldn’t possibly leave out Magazine or The Sound two incredibly influential bands. Thanks for sharing.

Siouxie & The Banshees. Brilliant band!
I remember "Staircase Mystery", "Love In a Void" and shiploads of other great tunes.
Gary Numan has always been one of my fave artists. Especially "Replicas", "Pleasure Principle" and "Telekon".
Eyless in Gaza. I haven't got a lot to say about them.
Ah, The Cure. I like the early albums the best. "Four Imaginary Boys", for instance.
The Cure bass player, Simon Gallup used to play in a great punk band called Lockjaw.
"Nag Nag Nag" is a wonderful track by Cabaret Voltaire from Sheffield.
Throbbing Gristle was another great band.
Lori & The Chameleons? Same band?
I really like the Psychedelic Furs. "We Love You", for instance. And "We'll Fall". Wonderful tunes.
Joy Division! Say no more! Wunderbar! Magnificent band.
    That goes for both albums.
    Cheers, mate.
    All the best from Sweden.

For me and a lot of other people is the best new wave album ever: The Sisters Of Mercy and "First, Last And Always". The both Joy Division records are also great. I had the Faith-album of The Cure, Primary and Doubt are fantastic, but the other tracks I didn't like. when I was 14,but now at 55 I maybe will like them! I will buy this album back when I see it. The Chameleons, great album, "On the Beach" my favourite. greetz from Belgium

This is a fantastic video topic and delivery! Love that Siouxsie's Juju made your list. I recently was able to score an original Holland press. I also have the same reissue you showed here. I haven't heard that Gary Numan live release, and actually, I didn't even know it existed. It's something I'm going to look into because I really dig Gary Numan. So, after watching this video earlier, I spent much of the afternoon sampling Eyeless in Gaza because they were a band I have been meaning to check out further. Your video gave me the nudge. Wow, I'm enjoying them so much that I just ordered 3 of their used records for pretty decent prices (Red Rust September included). Thank you! I haven't heard that Cabaret Voltaire 12", so I'll be sampling that as well! Ah, that Chameleons LP is brilliant, of course. I was able to snag that same reissue, too. And love the rest of your picks, too! Cheers!

Red Rust September a fabulous album from a very unique band. Chameleons Strange Times their best in my view.

I remember buying Faith on cassette in 1981 because it had the 25 minute instrumental Carnage Visors on it. I rank The Chameleons , The Comsat Angels & The Sound as the three most underrated bands of the 80's. Both A&R men who signed The Psychedelic Furs were let go by CBS whose executives were appalled. One was Lucien Grainge who is now the most powerful person in the industry. Good stuff 👍

Agreed! Comsats, Chameleons and The Sound such underrated artists. Their releases in the early part of the decade are simply sublime.

Great video! Really enjoyed your list. Ive found myself listening to a lot of post punk and new wave stuff lately. My favourite at the moment is a band called Grauzone. Theyre a post punk band that only made one self titled album and that was it. If you dont know em yet its definitely worth checking out their self titled album. They do sing in German but its just amazing music. Judging by your list I think you might really enjoy their stuff.
    Greetings from Düsseldorf

Hi Andy, late to this of course, but just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. Some brilliant choices there! Great to see love for The Chameleons, a lost treasure of a band! Seeing them later this year all bring well, can’t wait! Great focus on Mesh & Lace too, what an album !

Really like Eyeless in Gaza too, that’s my favorite LP of theirs as well. Martin Bates stuff is also very good. Eyeless is one of those bands that people don’t talk about enough. Great video 👍

All good records but I think English should be inserted before the word Punk.
