Great series so far! You can actually harvest fecal matter from septic tanks- you just have to research them. You have the option to collect them at basically any % fullness, so you can harvest before the septic tank passively empties itself. Hope this helps!
Ahhh okay good to know thank you! So in order to make sure it doesn't passively breakdown too much should I set the collection level quite low?

Although I will say it operates on a curve, once you have formal plumbing and lots of colonists you’ll reach a point where you have a huge overflow (no pun intended), and will fill up the tanks quite quickly. So I would maybe focus on getting some more minimum wage workers to work at the resort 😉 that will accelerate your progress a ton.

Great episode! comment on the rp aspect of the poop cycle: you can provide toilets all connected to the same septic tank, then empty it when it's full to collect the brown gold. Then Olaf gets his porcelain throne and chemfuel! Also, Make sure guests are allowed in the mod settings. I've turned it off midgame when I got annoyed and then forgot about it
Thank you for the advice! The only reason I wasn't going to do that is that I believe septic tanks do also passively destroy some of the waste? I could be wrong on that though but I didn't want to destroy any of the precious brown gold before we had enough to collect! I think the issue with guests is that I had no friendly factions on the map! I have changed that now so hopefully guests will start appearing soon 🤞
Tortoises seem to be the cursed animal of this series. They just can't get a break.

One of my earlier series the Stranded Rebels one, used SoS2 and I had to build a ship from scratch to escape a planetkiller weapon, was fun times! I DO want to do a follow up to that with them in space doing stuff, my only issue right now is that my computer is badly in need of an upgrade! SoS2 (and Rimworld in general once you have big bases) is a real resource hog and my computer is pretty old at the moment. Looking to upgrade it in the next month or two though so hopefully after that I can do SoS2 more indepth!

I actually wasn't stopping them from coming, I think I messed up a little in the setup so they weren't arriving but I have figured it out now
Poop fuel yeiiii, I suggest investing in coffee beans, as caffeine help with the digestion and accelerate metabolism. (if you know what I mean)

One thing ive noticed in your videos that a lot of your colonists tend to have a fixed sexuality applied to them. is this a mod? I sometimes get a colonist who isent straight but very rarely
I believe it is the result of this one: [RF] Rational Romance (Continued), not sure it does much for me but it's just been one I've been including as standard for a while now
It also makes sexuality not take up a trait slot, which is very nice. And you can choose percentages of the sexualities
