This is self induced. Shoulda kept the pension. Shouldn’t have cut pay and benefits. MDOC isn’t a career anymore, it’s just a job. When a better job comes along, someone is gonna take it.
The crisis is getting worse. It’s getting so bad I believe everyone who works for Mdoc feel as if they are on board a sinking ship and wonder at what point do they jump off. The state shows no care or compassion for its Correctional Officers. If they gave incentive such as a pension or healthcare after retirement many officers would stay as of now there is none.
Absolutely what I have been saying for several years. It’s a sinking ship and I didn’t want to be on it when it hit the ocean floor. I jumped off 14 months ago and never been happier! It’s dangerous and no one cares about the lives of those who work there or live there!
