  • With dinosaurs being the face of the Jurassic Franchise, it would be hard to imagine Jurassic World Evolution 3 skipping out on including at least a couple of new dinosaur species into its roster. With many species that could still make it in, let's have a look at a few that I think would make for some diverse additions.

I really want them to add the missing species from the InGen’s list in the second trilogy. According to DPG cruelty list and some carcasses found in Fallen Kingdom, we’re missing: Coelurus, Lesothosaurus, Peloroplites and Teratophoneus. It would be also nice to see Hadrosaurus because of its history with the OG JP trilogy.

Having new creatures to play with is nice and all but what really would be nice is planet zoo like building, paths and terrain

Right now, I’m betting on 28 new species getting added to Evolution 3’s base roster, which will include all 122 species from Evolution 2, giving us a grand total of 150 species to start the game, with new species being spread out from the five major groups of creatures in the game, Dinosaurs, Flying Mesozoic Creatures, Aquatic Mesozoic Creatures, Paleozoic Creatures and Cenozoic Creatures.
My predictions for the numbers being 5 New Dinosaur Species, 5 New Mesozoic Flying Species, 5 New Mesozoic Aquatic Species, 5 New Paleozoic Species and 8 New Cenozoic Species.

Good picks. Whole bunch I'd like to see and some I decided just now to add on my list in the Frontier forums haha. Some of the theropods you mentioned, I'm not sure about. Some might be too similar to ones we have out like compare Gorgosaurus with Albertosaurus, Dakotaraptor to Utahraptor or how would Anodontosaurus look compared to the Ankylosaurus? Mapusaurus is the only carcharodontosaur that interests me, I'm curious about Pycnonemosaurus. I'm just not sure about the likes of Tyrannotitan and Saurophaganax. There are suggestions on my list that are two species that are similar but won't mind if one is picked over the other.
    For example,
    1. Eoraptor/Dilong
    2. Anzu/Corythoraptor
    3. Nothronychus/Segnosaurus
    4. Leaellynasaura/Hypsilophodon
Other than Leaellynasaura would be a feathered ornithopod, just not sure how Hypsilophodon would be different to Dryosaurus.

Gonna share some thoughts about the roster you presented! (Below the cut to not spoil comment section peekers).
Becklespinax: Eating my shoe if you're not on the money with this one, lmao. They're not gonna be fixing the name, though.
    Interesting/Popular names, underwhelming animals:
A lot of these got highly requested status because of spicy names, or just name recognition, and quite a few of them (even some I like, sadly) are just too similar to work next to the relatives that already made it into the game, unless Frontier leans hard into making them weird, or if applicable, more accurate than their relatives. Which, to be fair, would be pretty feasible for some of them.
Animals in this category: Mapusaurus, Gorgosaurus, Tyrannotitan, Fukuiraptor, Saurophaganax, Most of the Sauropods, Tuojiangosaurus, Anodontosaurus (the Euoplocephalus ingame is based on this animal), Eoraptor, Coelurus
Interesting animals, need a bit of design ellbow grease:
A couple of these animals have what it takes to stand out, assuming Frontier gives them the attention they deserve! Think the oppossite of Tarbosaurus, Segisaurus and Australovenator. This can be achieved by funky spikes, a rare animation set (like the more pleasing looking Edmontosaur animations for Lambeosaurus), or just a particularly worthwhile pattern. For some (Daspletosaurus) this involves leaning a bit into features they're known to have had (the keratinized head in that ones case), but usually these are minor "accent" features.
Animals: Rajasaurus/Pycnonemosaurus, Maip, Megaraptor, Daspletosaurus, Torvosaurus, Yangchuanosaurus, Abelisaurus, Teratophoneus, Gryposaurus, Hadrosaurus, Lambeosaurus, Dakotaraptor, Psittacosaurus
Animals that can be made unique simply by being accuracycore:
JWE2 is a Jurassic World game, and thus, accurate and inaccurate designs can exist side by side. And more accurate designs have so far almost always left their less accurate counterparts in the dust, so I am really not oppossed to having more of them. A lot of the animals here work mostly because of how much more effort Frontier puts into feathered animal skins than naked design skins, I mean hell, they would have never come up with the JP3 or Dino Tracker website Raptor designs, which is the quality the scaly skins really deserve - but you know what, let me stay on topic here.
Animals: Guanlong, Dromaeosaurus, Nanuqsaurus (feathers for this one may not actually be accurate but still), Pectinodon, Ornithomimus, Prenocephale, Hypsilophodon, Segnosaurus, Oxalaia, Ceratosuchops
    Weird, but comfortable:
This is for animals that are starting out weird and unique, and fit JWE2 with no further issues, at least in my opinion. Some of these require a bit more tweaking. Have my thoughts on each of these one by one (featuring the thoughts I wrote before compressing the whole list):
Alioramus: Smaller Qanz, if they make the snout shorter and give it bigger bumps, I think it could work. If they make it pedomorphic, I think it could work really well; baby Tyrannosaurs are, strangely enough, a unique, so far unrepresented bodyplan.
Sinotyrannus: A large, crested Tyrannosauroid would certainly be fun, but I feel like it would also need unique feathering to stand out. Mixed feelings on this one.
Gojirasaurus: As much as I usually balk at adding dinosaurs for the cool name, this is an exception. I have never seen a Gojirasaurus reconstruction for a mod that didn't at least try to create something worthy of its namesake, while usually looking quite different. It would probably become a self-imposed challenge to anybody working on it for the name alone, instead of the seeming "They'll like it either way" Thanatosdrakon seems to have caused. Has the potential to become one of the greatest original designs for that factor alone, oooor one of the biggest letdowns of the game.
Rugops: Aw, I am pretty biased towards my little bulldog-hyena Abelisaur. I think it would be unique, but also kind of stand out like a sore thumb unless the animal addition priorities change towards including weirder animals and doing them justice - even if Rugops itself is pretty ordinary as far as strange dinosaurs go.
Ornitholestes: Franchise pull means it could make a book themed DLC, or even expansion. Its also a small, but basal Theropod, meaning Frontier can go crazy with both spikes and feathers this time, while ending up with a design that will probably fit in with at least some other members of the roster. Maybe even both, in this particular case.
Shantungosaurus: Might be too similar to Edmontosaurus, but if it can fight (a la Isle Shant) it would definitely be worthwhile. Then again, we kept saying that for Ankylodocus too...
Stegouros: A weirdo and classic in the making that would fit the current roster surprisingly well. Five out of five stars.
Shunosaurus: Shunosaurus has the lanky basal Sauropod build, and that iconic club, making it a certified new and interesting species by my standards.
Mussaurus: Another book DLC candidate, a more obscure, but more franchise relevant Prosauropod. If you keep it small, it could share the spotlight with Plateosaurus.
Ceratopsians: All the new Ceratopsians generally have the same plus, which is interesting new frills and heads (and sometimes sizes, which proved a major plus for Chasmosaurus). I will support basically all of these, even if they're not exactly gonna sell me on a DLC if they release in one.
Jakapil: Supremely based and jakapilled, yes please.
Peleroplites: Ayo, its that skellington. Strangely unique enough, thanks to that really weird head it has in the franchise.
Saltasaurus: A true chonkster. Would love to have these girthy girls waddling around my parks, that's for sure.
Bonus round: Animals that are so self-evidently interesting that I had nothing to say beyond "Yeah that's interesting":
Shunosaurus, Proroceratops, Plateosaurus, Miragaia, Isisaurus, Beipiaosaurus, Austroraptor, Pelecanimimus, Irritator/Ichthyovenator, Mononykus, Leaellynasaura, Masiakasaurus
"Could work, feels too similar by another suggestion that would make more sense":
Animals that would usually be good and all, but kinda play second fiddle to another suggestion that just kinda overtakes their niche and makes more sense for JWE. Imma also provide the "replacing animal" for comparison. Most of these could still be made to work, of course.
Elaphrosaurus (Masiakasaurus), Tarchia (Peleroplites), Leptoceratops (Protoceratops), Antarctopelta (Stegouros; this could change if we find more fossils to provide it a more distinct identity), Anchiornis (Archaeopteryx)
"Animals that are interesting as all heck but would be neutered beyond reason by JWE2":
JWE2 is a heavily top down game, and also one where you don't really provide much care for your dinosaurs. Due to this, any animal whose unique feature is their diet, or which is simply too small, is completely gutted by JWE2, and unless JWE3 improves on the aspects of game design making this happen, they will be a sad, underwhelming mess in JWE3, too. This is really sad for me, as a tiny lil nerds lover, especially of Heterodontosaurs and the bird-likes.
Fallen troops: Heterodontosaurus, Halszkaraptor, Yi, Microraptor, Archaeopteryx, Epidexypteryx.
    Inclusions I just don't understand:
I wrote all the animals down with their own points initially. Here's the ones where I just wrote something along the lines of "But why though"
    Animals: Eustreptospondylus, Lythronax, Lesothosaurus
Animals that are alright and cool, but I could think of something that would fill their niche better:
(Again, I wrote a reaction to all the animals before consolidating, so all of these popped up organically)
Edmontonia: A strangely ubiquitous dinosaur in paleomedia, Edmontonia surely would deserve a slot. Even if I would personally rather have the similar, somehow spikier Struthiosaurus.
Corythoraptor: We do need a mid-size Oviraptor. Would personally prefer Citipati or Anzu, but Corythoraptor would be fine, too.
Saichania: The beautiful one is a classic, but sadly honestly probably kinda boring Ankylosaur. Not sure how worth including it is. I would suggest Talarurus instead, for being quite small.
    Righto!
Since you requested it, also have my wishlist.
It is a good deal less, uh, overthought than my "prediction list" from the last video. Limiting it to non-avian dinosaurs.
    Carnivores:
    Guanlong, Dromaeosaurus
    Herbivores:
Plateosaurus, Melanorosaurus, Ornithomimus (you sold me), Stegouros, Dacentrurus, Saltasaurus, Shunosaurus, Talarurus, Gargoyleosaurus, Scelidosaurus, Thescelosaurus ("feathered Dryosaurus"), Medusaceratops, Protoceratops
    Omnivores:
    Citipati
    Insectivores:
    Mononykus/Patagonykus
Additions for if the next game actually lets small animals shine:
Heterodontosaurus, Halszkaraptor, Archaeopteryx, Microraptor, Panphagia, Yi qi
Additions for if we get proper semi-aquatics specifically:
    Koreaceratops, Lurdusaurus

personally, in terms of dinosaurs i only really want species that are really something new. Either from groups poorly represented in the game (abelisaurs, megaraptorans), or groups not at all represented, or not really represented. Namely I really want an early sauropodomorph like plateosaurus, some bizarre small theropods like yi-qui or mononykus (probably my 2nd or 3rd favourite dinosaur), pelicanimimus, halzkaraptor or noasaurids, as well as some more diverse small ornithischians like Heterodontosaurus, Leallynosaurus, Zalmoxes, a basal thyreothoran like scelidosaurus or scuttelosaurus, and another small ceratopsian. Also, birds or bird like theropods like the aforementioned yi-qui and microraptor would be brilliant. More small theropods, rounding out that size range between troodon, ceolophysis and the tiny guys like compy etc would be nice in general. Same with small herbivores. Things like protoceratops or zalmoxes, bigger than homalocephale, but still smaller than say our small stegosaurs and ankylosaurs.
So yeah, unique sizes/unique lineages would be by biggest want, ideally with unique behaviours also. Such as burrowing with small ornithischians or insectivorous habits for things like mononykus, which could in turn be applied to animals like struthiomimus. If breeding was a thing, egg eating would be cool too.

honestly, at least in terms of dinosaurs, i think we're pretty much set with the roster right now. There's only like 3-4 dinos that I think would fill big holes in the roster, like plateosaurus, protoceratops, microraptor/archaeopteryx, and a feathered ornithomimosaur. The missing canon/novel dinos would be nice, but I think they'd ultimately just be fluff (coelurus, mussaurus, lesothosaurus, peroplites, teratophoneus, and the chaos theory party)

Outside of this list which I very much like, I would add Regaliceratops, Neovenator (recognizable name), Massospondylus, Scelidosaurus, Tenontosaurus, and maybe Brontosaurus for a base game roster (Regaliceratops could be saved for a dlc and I was gonna say Glacialisaurus but I’d pick Massospondylus first then it, I also thought Sinraptor but choose Neovenator but again could be for a DLC)

Okay so I’ve got to ask since I haven’t kept up with the film series, but why on earth did they call it Becklespinax instead of Altispinax? I researched this and from what I read is that it was synonymous a long time ago by comparison to something like Stygimoloch or Dracorex (heck even Troodon) so I’m confused
