Thanks for the review, I'll keep an eye on the upcoming Olight February sale!! Thank you.
Thanks!
Awesome little light for EDC.....I have 3 of them.
I really like mine as well. I see another in my future.
Great review, sir!
Thank you kindly!
I agree that Olight makes lots of “fun” lights that are also useful and of high quality (and I have the literal receipts to prove it), but please review lights from other companies, too. Like you, I understand that some folks would rather have USB-C charging ports, but I prefer Olight’s proprietary charging system not only because it is quick and easy, but also because it enhances the water resistance, because there is no opening to be protected.
I find the lux and temperature readings very informative, and I also like that your language is family-friendly; please continue that.
Thanks, Kris. I really appreciate the comment. I have more from different companies...and different price ranges...in line to be tested. If you have suggestions, I am all ears.
Side note...I'll always keep it clean here. While I can cuss like a drunken sailor behind closed doors, I believe there is a time, a place and an audience to respect.
Do you know if there is a plastic protective film over the lens that needs to be removed?
I don't recall there being one one the two that I have. However, I am only going by memory. Why do you ask?
@@handheldlightreviews If there was one, I didn't want it melting to the lens.
Everyone needs a laser pointer 😊
are you a cat?
I actually just used this today for a client presentation for my day job. And you’re absolutely right.
Looks like a great light. However, I stopped buying Olight flashlights years ago because of the proprietary charging. I have a Klarus R30 with a proprietary charging cable, but at least the batteries are removable. Olight, in effect, has now doubled-down on the likelihood of stranding their customers by going with proprietary charging and an unremovable power source.
It's too bad, I would have bought several of these lights if Olight offered them with standardized charging and a sensible and removable power supply.
I can't disagree with that. While I like the convenience of the charging (it works great) I do agree about it not being serviceable, it makes you worry just a bit. Case in point, I actually had the very light in this video on hand in a client presentation. I pulled it out and hit the button and...nothing. I put it on the charger and it never changed from green to red. I remembered seeing this comment and started to worry that my Arkfeld had a glitch and was bricked. However...I forgot that I locked it before I put it in my computer bag. 🤣 It was still fully charged and worked great once I remember to hold the button for one second to unlock it.😜
Cool video thanks.
Glad you liked it!
I only see 4 green light's on it ? Nice light though 👌
Yes, 4 green lights but one turns red. See the 6:45 mark.
I might have mistaken my tv control for camping or watch tv with my flashlight. 🤔 Not for me. The flashlight must look like a flashlight not a remote control.
I can see that happening, it is very similar to a modern TV remote. I didn't even make the connection until you mentioned it.
$10 or less without replaceable battery is just use and dispose, any good flashlight that you throw away after 40 or so charges is disgusting to me. Just saying crossed my mind.
What do you mean by 40 or so charges?
