The dlc summons are busted man it's insane, Miyazaki really said we only have a few base game summons that can be on par with mimic tear so let's go crazy with the dlc summons and make em all on par with mimic I was thinking for a second we might need the triple Lanseax's from the randomized summons only but man was I wrong keep up the peak content domo

What’s funny about the Bigmouth Imp is it’s ability to send humanoid enemies flying, including the Blade of Miquella herself… Also, I find it fitting that Randy, the guardian deity of smithing is the one to smite Miquella and his plans
I still have a soft spot for Lhutel. She doesn't do a whole lot of damage, but the fact that she teleports and has a shield means she can survive a long time

I'm pretty sure for the DLC they changed how bosses treat summons. They all seem to be more likely to switch aggro back to you, even if you're not attacking. This is both good (your summons are more likely to survive and deal damage) and bad (your summons aren't as good at creating room to breath).
Mohg's rune woulda helped here too: it gives your summons a buff. Now, i dont know what that buff does but they get one. Edit: i assume its a damage buff since thats what does to enemies in pvp
It also works on hidden walls. The reason this happens is that both shackle items work by essentially firing off a gigantic invisible AOE attack that only affects its intended target. That's how they work at any range. Even though they only actually do anything to Morgott or Mohg, they still technically register as a "hit" to the game, which means they can set off things like hidden walls or sealed spiritsprings.

A nice reminder to help people not be so mortified, the horrible meat women are ONLY in the Shadow Lands pots. They're specifically made with a living shaman. The jars we see in the Lands Between are just corpses. So don't worry, Alexander is not full of a horrible meat monster.

I’ve been replaying the DLC with senseless co-op and instead of diffusing mimic and tish we’ve been summoning the worst summons of all time. Most of them get one shot around revered spirit ash + 8 (ash +10) but it’s a lot of fun. Honestly I thought all the new summons were pretty shit until I saw this video.

I think there lies the answer, because ur the invader. Based on my experience with messing around with summons in smithbox, it seems that spirit summons specifically only seem to function properly if ur just in a normal player state per se (which you’ll be in for a vast majority of the game). So by invading, you become an “enemy” in their eyes and the invaded become their “allies”. Kinda learnt that the hard way when I summoned the dancing lion to fight the Leda gank squad and it started beating my ass instead of them.
The great thing about Taylew aka Randy is he doesn’t have. A lot of health he just has good damage negation so he doesn’t take a lot of damage but since he doesnt have a lot of health you can heal him and it will do most if not all his health bar

at 8:20, when you get grabbed by those kinds of enemies you can mash out to only take two ticks of damage, which woulda saved him here.
When I do it I can usually take 0 damage, but I bet it’s cause I always get grabbed at range so they take longer to start damaging me
