People tend to enjoy pop songs because of the beats, rhythm, etc. They don't pay attention to the lyrics so much. That doesn't mean that MJ is not great. In fact, thanks to Cornell's version, I am able to appreciate the lyrics. Whereas I never really paid attention when listening to MJ's version. Because that just made me want to dance. Oh, and there are plenty of covers where the artist not only enjoyed the cover but thought it was better than theirs. Just ask Dolly Parton about one of her songs that Whitney Houston covered.

My husband died last month. I can't believe he's gone. He was a professional guitarist who toured for 40 years. His passing was a big event in Detroit. When I hear Chris I think about his wife and family and friends. It's a huge loss to the world but to her it's got to be devastating.
