The kid needs rounds and experience. This fella brought him some nice problems inside that he dealt with. Patience is needed. Once he starts getting twelve round bouts he can worry about the knockouts. Does anyone think he couldn't have stepped on the gas? And Bivol is in his prime years, it would of been a much much better fight 5 or more years ago. Bivol made canelo look really slow and canelo is much faster than Beterbiev.

It’s hard to say because he doesn’t really sit down on his punches. His style seems to be a mixture of showboating, fast flurries, and pot-shots. The pot shots and flurries is an amateur thing, so maybe once that’s worn off he’ll start to dig his heels in and develop a bit of power
He has an it will especially show when goes up the levels if he’s got no knockout power at world level he’s going to have a hard time keeping big punchers off him also has his been hit properly yet by someone who can bang ? He’s obviously got talent but there’s a lot of questions to be asked of him yet before we can see how good he is

It's not impressive from a boxers outlook. What's strange is whitaker doesn't seem to have explosive power for his weight. If he put more time into explosive attacks as much as he does showboating he would be really dangerous. But even here he is still getting tagged by a slow speed and not technical fighter which is concerning. Fighters now need to go after his body as tag it as its easier target to hit then work the head. Similar to the guy in his last fight when he was on the ropes being worked on. We all know ben wants to do that head swish to the side movement but his body is still there to be hit. High level IQ fighters like me can see it on a mobile screen so imagine in real person how fast a technical fighter can register simple mistakes like that on ben.
And what's more weird is why can't Ben finish an opponent who's clearly fatigued in front of you and go up a gear? There's just a lot of question marks which at high level he absolutely will get hurt or even slept. Being confident is great being over confident is dangerous.
He's still very young & learning his trade in just now he's ubuthadox so maybe he's not been trained how to get the real power in those punches that come from nowhere, where & when .

Showboating but yet still getting caught by a slow fighter not just this fight but his last one. He hasn't finished his last 2 opponents. And doing showboating against a low skilled opponent isn't great. The stuff whitaker is doing isn't special I done it for years and can do it now still it's easy. He is vulnerable. Gives me barrera vs prince naseem vibes.
What I'm saying is look past the tricks and glamour and see it for what it was. Fans are entertained and think omg he is amazing he can move but really he is okay. Boxed way before whitaker here just never went pro. The stuff he does I can do easy. It's not as hard as you think especially against someone slower than you.
As a person I like Ben. But where he is stage wise and the showboating he needs to put people away. Otherwise it reminds me of josh Kelly's first pro loss and how bad he looked. The same will happen to him if he keeps at this rate. Even I know that style and I also know many other styles sometimes you got to stand and bang and get in the trenches. We haven't seen that from him yet nor what happens when he gets hurt and super low on energy. Has potential but atm it's reached its ceiling.

People see to miss the fact his show boating is him in flow mode loving what he's doing and doing it pretty well. I saw one of his last fights where at the end he chilled his opponent and their corner - who in good humour seemed to have understood his show boating was just a thing that brought more eyes to the sport, and was generally done in good (well cheeky) humour.
Shockingly here it was even more effective against his opponent who initially thought he could do the same (he couldn't) and then lost the mental game as the match went on. Ya Ben might get knocked out soon, but he's probably more likely to if he changes his game - to those who think he'll be better without it - the guy' already a silver medal Olympian, might know himself better than youtube does. And I've watched 2 boxing fights at this level this year, both were his. I'm usually more of a Muay Thai/Kickboxing guy. So guess it works.
