- (05) Pandit Dattatreya Vishnu Paluskar (28 May 1921 - 26 October 1955), was a Hindustani classical vocalist. He was considered a child prodigy.
D.V. Paluskar was born in Nasik, Maharashtra to well-known Hindustani musician Vishnu Digambar Paluskar. His original surname was Gadgil, but as they hailed from the village Palus (near Sangli), they came to be known as the "Paluskar" family.
He was only ten years old when his father died, and was subsequently trained by Pandit Vinayakrao Patwardhan and Pandit Narayanrao Vyas. He was also trained by Pandit Chintamanrao Paluskar and Pandit Mirashi Buwa.

Paluskar Saab is another name for music purest as well as entirely flawless and ultimately dexterous.The bhajan Ramcharan sukhadaai effects an experience of bliss & bliss.A genius like paluskar Sahab is only heaven sent.
I have listened to Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Rajan/Sajan Mishra and many others who were classical vocalist legends during sixties onwards but Pandit Dattatreya Paluskarji's style, absolute command and effortless singing makes him the greatest Maestro among all.🙏!

Greatest Maestro is Ustad Amir Khan... After him there's Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, then the likes of DV Paluskar, Bhimsen Joshi, Pt Jasraj etc. Come.

All are legend no comparison, because they all are Original having own style 🙏

Reminded me of my school days. On Saturdays, early before school starts,these bhajan were played on loudspeaker .That created such an auspicious effect on our mind. We used to go early to school to listen to these bhajan!👌👍

When I was young D.V. Paluskar was very famous Bajan Singer. My father used to love his Bajans and would sing all the times.
Pandit Paluskar lifts us to a higher level of comfort through his voice.

I am in full agreement to the views of Sri Hemant Nagar as just commented earlier. Respected DV Paluskar who in my view is unparallel , has a divine touch in his classical singing. One can keep listening through out his life. Divinity comes when sarasvati ji ki vishesh kripa barasti hai.

Paluskar Family is famous for their contribution towards Indian Classical, especially to Abhijaat Sangeet. As we have heard from our old family members and grand parents.. (who were in Music seva since ages) that this family has devoted their lives to Music and have been covering Indias Length and Breadth to create awareness of Cine classical Indian Music.
Mai 14 sal ka tha, tab se inko sunta hu,, DIL trupt ho jara hai. Aaj 71 sal ka hu.
