Pt Paluskar ' s untimely demise at the age of just 34 deprived the world of one of the finest God-gifted voices ever. With only a few recordings that are left behind, we can just marvel at how complete a vocalist he was. Thanks for posting this recording.
Thing with artists is that they evolve with age. Unfortunately we'll never get to see how DVP's music would've evolved. Same with Mozart and Jimmy Hendrix.
I had the rare p leasure of hearing dv paluskar in february 1953 at a private mehfil in dehradun. The tabla accompanist was a young tabla player Pr Kishan maharaj, and panditji after his singing got up and bowed to him in respect. After paluskars singing pt ravi shankar started playing sitar, and went for for more than two hours, and he literally caught the feet of kishan maharaj for his knowledge of music. After this mehfil dv paluskar came to our DAV college in dehradun and gave a memorable performance. and i remember there was pin drop silence among the students.Later on I heard Dv paluskar in nauchandi mela at meerut in 1955 or so.. and We lost him shortly after that. he was my first introduction to classical singing Murari Bahl
