Doesn't make much tactical sense. Feel this might be a faint to either further ease pressure on Pokrovsk or thin out Russian defences for a main Ukrainian offensive effort on a different axis.
I hate to be a party pooper, but if this attack succeeds in capturing land, it'll make their salient deeper and thus more vulnerable to flank attacks. Surely this amounts to a raid, intended to keep the Russians off balance.
Great news. I thought Ukraine might be doing something soon. Of the 14 new brigades Ukraine formed in 2024 I can only count 5 as in action. Really some just elements of a brigade. They may have been waiting for equipment or training. Or they may have been waiting for some airpower.........which it looks like they are getting soon. Slava Ukraine.

Ukrainian sources report that the Taiwanese company TRC supplies Russia with sensitive components that are used to produce modules for correcting and guiding air bombs.
About the report of the Russian soldier from Kinburn spit: he refers to "Kinburn spit, Kherson region". This is why I believe that he does not mean the spit but the more Eastern part of the Kinburn peninsula. Because the Kinburn spit itself belongs to Mykolaiv Oblast.
@FXChuck98 Stupid idea? Why? Because Ukraine hasn't reached Moscow yet? The fact Ukraine has been successful at all, and has tied down thousands of Russian (and N. Korean triops) for months without getting kicked out yet is proof enough the incursion wasn't stupid.
Thanks for the breaking news update! Too early to tell what exactly is going on, but I doubt that Ukraine is planning any large-scale operation, particularly once Russia delivers jamming resistant fiber-optic drones to their defense units. I also doubt that Ukraine plans to take any large cities or heavily defended areas, although they will certainly take advantage of any opportunities that present themselves. My feeling is that Ukraine has sensed some confusion or lack of coordination among Rusian units in this area, and so they are trying to take advantage of that. Could also be a diversionary attack in hopes of relieving pressure on Petrovsk or to start another offensive elsewhere, but I doubt that.
I’ve heard from another channel comments section that the 155th regiment(I think) that abandoned its positions around Pokrosk, that they had their new equipment stripped from their unit, that was from the French government. I wonder if this was pilfered to be used in Kursk. If so, then it would make a sort of sense…I guess. Still not sure it’s worth abandoning the strategic necessity to reinforce the east. I love Ukriane and I get why they invaded Kursk in the first place…I hope they have good info and that this new move goes well. Slava Ukraini! ❤ from 🇨🇦
Hopefully they get the better of the Russians but the whole thing never would have happened if Europe had listened to Trump by arming Ukraine and quitting Russian hydrocarbons!
I have some misgivings concerning this new offensive, considering the number of desertions. They may have an advantage in drones for now but the Russians will soon start using fibre optics drones there. Well, I wish them luck.
It's a huge international black eye. China are looking and thinking if ruzzia can't even keep hold of their own land against a country a fraction of their size then they don't want to be backing the wrong horse. India are looking at Ukraine with a handful of NATO equipment steamrolling 50k ruzzian troops with their best military equipment and are definitely not buying any more military hardware from them. Every single day Ukraine is on ruzzian soil is a clear sign you can roll tanks onto their territory and get away with it. He's losing prestige on the world stage and that has value. Phillip.
Sryski is known as the butcher as during the Donetsk war he did a few operations that got a lot of his troops killed. He will do whatever it takes in Kursk to keep his job at the expense of his troops. However I do believe that Ukraine have to start attacking soon as only defending all the time means loss of troops and land.
What I have heard is that if syrsky loses ground or withdraws in Kursk he will lose his position, there are a few in parliament and some journalists that are asking for his firing. His mother still lives in Russia and supports putin.
That sounds not true. He's already lost 40% of the ground in Kursk and didn't lose his position. Zelensky decides whether Syrsky stays or goes, not "some journalists", so as long as he does masterstrokes like Kursk then he will be fine for now. Phillip.
It is not going well at all. This is just PR offensive with nothing done but losing a dozen of vehicles and ~100 of servicemen. Anything else new in that hopium of alternative universe of "Ukraine victories"?
Been waiting for this...thanks

The Kursk gains were sort of fading away (see also Denys' vid of 1 hour ago). Now, they are polished up again and regain their original importance.

Uktaine are now attacking because of the flow of American weapons , the front line would be different if they got the weapons during the year

What is worse: the stupid idea behind the Kursk operation or the stupid idea to double down on your original stupid idea?
Both
the stupid idea that territory and resources on the ground are the entirety of this war, vrs being one single facet
If you think the Kursk operation is a stupid idea then you need to do some research. It's been successful in multiple ways.
