Xiaomi vacuum-mop water release fix 💦

- Here's what to do if your Xiaomi vacuum-mop stopped releasing water / Stopped mopping.
It seems the issue was originally caused by the water release valve outlets being too short and some water ending up inside. This Thingyverse page provides a 3D printable solution to extend your water tank's outlet valves: www.thingivers...
Some people are complaining that their issue is due to a blockage in the water tank's valves. I've heard some people use detergent or a vinegar solution to clear the blockage, but please note that there is always a risk involved as the water tank explicitly states not to use detergent in it. If you've found a good solution to clear a blockage please feel free to add it to the comment section so that it can help others as well.
Hope this helped. Happy mopping!

Thank you ! Solved my problem !
That's fantastic news! I'm glad to hear it!
Is you pins have corrosion?
@@elmarsauro3245 No corrosion I think the contacts in vacuum were too far from touching the container contacts. Only soldering worked. I soldered it once again after couple of months of use. For now it works perfectly
@@sergeyamhinez9728 oh nice i will try it hope it works for me
that really helped me, thanks!
to everyone with clogged water tank/valves- i had the same issue and solved it by cleaning the tank thoroughly and filling the water part with boiling water and vinegar, shaking it & emptying- did that twice and now the robot works well again
please be careful with vinegar as my device recognised the dust compartment with water tank as just a dust compartment till i watched this video and cleaned the terminals.
What can i do if the valves are not releasing water?
th-cam.com/channels/EpNr5R7DQB9A1oJNMggNOQ.html
throw that shit out the window
No corrosion but one of the pins was pushed inside. Pulled it out and the problem was solved. Thanks!
Oh wow, I'm glad this video helped you find the solution. May you have clean floors for many more years to come!
same I think I hope I can somehow pull it out too
Thanks a lot. It solved my problem. Actually I poured vinegar in the water tank to clean the surface better. Though the surface got cleaned much better, the terminals got slightly corroded. Merely wiping them with wet tissue paper solved the problem for me. Once again thanks. It saved the mess of going to the service centre.
How to open up these valves? No water did release when I opened it ( 0:27 )
I want an Asnwer 😢 me too
Amazing - I didn't think to check the pins just the tank itself. Thanks for sharing!
I'm so glad the video helped!
1:58 THANK you for the video! I was about to have my x10+ sent back to be fixed, and after your video I fixed the issue my self! My little metal thing had some scale on it, and after I scraped it off with my nails😂, the problem was gone!!! THAAAANK YOU!!!!
I'm so glad to hear it helped! Well done!
My pump is not heard. I think the pump is dead. Please suggest a proper replacement as there are many sellers in aliexpress and many seem to be selling a tank which does not fit or work
The solution should your pipes get clogged by some detergent or whatever.
Use an air duster spray, put the nozzle in either one of the holes where the water SHOULD drip and close the other hole with your thumb and spray it. Mine made a *thunk* sound and the water starts dripping
Thank you. Your solution inspired me. I use a medical syringe without a needle and It's fit the water hole, fill the under side with vinegar and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then I block one hole with my hand, another hole with the syringe and pump a little hard, then the thunk sound, and vinegar flow to the main tank. It was a success.
شكرآ نجحت معي @@VThang93
very very thanks bro. The water tank that had not been working for 2 years worked
I am glad to hear you were able to revive your mopping functionality! Well done!
Works perfectly after cleaning the corrosion, perfect video, thank you!
Great! I'm so glad to hear the video helped you to revive your vacuum mop!
new to soldering here but can I ask what metal you use to solder on the pins? I need to fix the pins on my water container as they seem worn down. cheers!
tin as usual
Hi, what if the pin doesnt have any corrosion and it still no water dripping? any other solution?
same boat here
Me too 🥲
O have a Mop 2c
Hi Zenn, it sounds like a lot of people have a blockage issue on their water tank. Is this perhaps the issue for you as well? See my reply on Pixie's comment. If you found a better solution, please feel free to share it here. If it's not a blockage issue, there might be a fault with the internal circuitry that provides the current to those pins. It will be tricky to determine since the vacuum mop only allows a mopping operation when the water tank is installed. Perhaps it is possible to take the exterior of the vacuum mop off and measure with a multimeter to determine if current is passed to the tank, but I think that will be quite an undertaking. I remember reading somewhere that you can supply a voltage to the pins of the water tank and it will release water, but I cannot recall what voltage it expects. So that might be an easier approach to try and isolate your problem.
Prob the pump is dead you need a new tank
You did god's work by making videos
Haha this gave me a good laugh! Thank you, I am so glad that it helped you solve your problem as well!
Can you please help me, my sensors are really clean yet it says in the apo water compartment not detected
Hi Christian , thanks for the video , very interesting , but I think my problem is the water holes are blocked , because doing the test they are not releasing water when I open the water deposit , do you know what can Ido for unblock them? Thanks.
Regards.
Hi Serlamo. Thanks for reaching out. Apologies for the late reply. Please see my response to Pixie's comment. If you've found a good solution, please feel free to post it here.
If it didnt work cleaning the pin, I think the problem is the calcareous water, the calcare is blocking the hole.. vinegar might help
thanks it worked for me in my case just clean the contacts well
I'm so glad it solved your issue as well!
I did not understand what you did exactly...what I this tool you see using?? I'm having the same.problem and I'm getting crazy...
I'm glad you managed to get your mop to work by cleaning the pins. The tool I was using is called a soldering iron and allows you to heat up solder and place solder to ensure electrical current can pass through the pins.
I think in my case the water pump is either stuck or dead. Can’t hear it anymore. Do you guys hear the “in place” message when placing the water tank? If so I don’t think is a contact issue.
Hi did you manage to fix the pump
@@neychev no, I replaced the water tank.
Hi, i.have the same problem, how did you solve it?
@@pvcosta no pude.
Good morning, I have the same robot but my problem is that it does not suck, it tells me to make sure that the compartment is properly installed. Could those same pins that you resolder be a problem? greetings
So it's basically wife after marriage ...won't suck
Thanks!
I don't know if will work for anyone but I cleaned the pins with a cotton ball with alcohol and it worked. I don't know for how long.
I'm glad you got it to work!
Still working?
My issue is that the water holes are blocked, but I can’t manage to unclogged it. Any advice?
Hi Pixie. Thanks for reaching out. I remember reading somewhere online about using vinegar solution to clear the blockage, but I can't remember the concentration that they used, I see this youtuber th-cam.com/video/__ltUWs8apc/w-d-xo.html used a detergent to clear their blockage, but there is always a risk involved since detergent comes in different concentrations and the instructions on the water tank specifically says not to use detergent in it. If all else fails there is always the option to order a new water tank online, they're at least not as expensive as buying a new robot vacuum/mop. Hope this helped! If you do find a good solution, please feel free to leave a comment here so that it can help others as well.
How to unblock the valves? My tank doesn't leak anything after opening the cap...
Use an air duster spray, put the nozzle in either one of the holes where the water SHOULD drip and spray it. Mine made a thunk sound and the water starts dripping
@@77soundwave77 same here, thanks for the suggestion. Air spray fixed the problem.
Mine has stucked waterpump, wich had to take a part and re lubricated. In the tank is 5vdc pump and the left connection pad is negative and right positive, if you guys want to test yours.
Pottom plate of the tank had to take carefully of the tank if you try to fix yours. It is clued pretty hard.
The pump rices up pretty easily after you release the wires.
Hope this helps somebody.
How did you disassemble the tank?
I have the same problem but no matter I do, when I open the plastic lid, water won't start dripping. I've checked and it doesn't look blocked, I mean, I can see through the holes with the right light spot through, but it still does not release any water, no matter the lid is opened or closed. So, it "has" to be blocked, but it doesn't seem so. So weird! By the way, my pins look very nice on both.
One thing I remember: last time I tried to mop before It stopped mopping forever the vaccum said something like "make sure THE MOP is correctly installed". So I double checked the mop pad and yes, it was perfectly installed, its a "click" installation, no way to fail.
I am about to buy another tank but I will wait a couple of days just in case any of you guys can bring any solution.
Thanks!
Did you buy another tank? Is it working now?
Any update bro?
@@elmarsauro3245 hi! Sorry for the delay. No! I didn't buy another tank. I am convinced of taking it to the shop and use the warranty.
But! Before doing that I am going to take out the filter. I think that because of the dust it may be a little out of its position and maybe that is preventing the pins to touch each other.
How do i open the tank? My one is not releasi g water
thanks buddy this helped me :D
I'm so glad it helped! Wishing you many years of clean floors!
thank you solved my problem!
I'm glad to hear it Antonella!
Thanks, I have another version the mop pro 2 however I'll check our for the water tank holes, I think mine are blocked.
I didn't know they were supposed to be dripping when the cap was opened
Hi Pisique, did you happen to find a solution to your problem? Otherwise check the comment I left on Pixie's comment. Feel free to leave a comment with any better solutions that you might have encountered.
Thank you dear sir you savedmy life
I am so glad it helped. I will be releasing a follow up video soon, that shows how to prevent the corrosion from happening in the first place.
I never got around to creating a follow up video, but I see this article smartme.pl/en/how-to-fix-a-problem-with-leaking-water-in-xiaomi-and-viomi-vacuum-cleaners/ describes the problem and solution quite well. The water release valves are too short causing some water to end up inside. You can get 3D printable extensions for the water release valves from this Thingiverse page: www.thingiverse.com/thing:3993426
From India thank 😢 🎉❤
