Starlock washer is a better bet to use on the end of the float arm as it will lock the surface of the tang with the body of the unit along with the locking set screw. Nice video through, full of useful information 👍
Good info, I just now repaired a honda elite 80 fuel sending unit. Tank was rusted and the contacts of the unit were full of oxidation. It had quicklock starlock washers holding it together. As an option you could have used one of those on the spot where the rivet was placed, press on fit, done deal. Anyway back to my story, popped starlocks off, cleaned & jb welded the fragile hair like copper contacts that broke off the arm. Polished the resistance board, slapped it back together. To test, I connected back onto the harness, hooked a battery to the scoot, turned the key. Gauge started working. I could move the arm up and down and the needle on the gauge followed perfectly. I was about to drop 70 bucks on a new one from honda, got lucky I guess. Good work man!
Well done ! These days you can find repair videos on almost anything on youtube. With world economy these days, don't unnecessarily spend your money if you can repair your old stuff. Well done on salvaging your honda sender. 🙂👍
