    I have a 2001, I charged the ac, it worked until the day I put it on heat, now no matter what it seems to be stuck on heat, hot air comes out even when it's off, and turned to cold, and the controls won't change anything from the front vents to any other setting. What should I do?

      Remove the kick panel driver side and passanger side and see if can see the servo motor for the blend door. Chances are motor went bad. Replace the servo motor. Should work Hopefully you can get to it by removing some interior trim peaces, otherwise you might have to pull out the whole airbox like i did. I wish you luck. Let me know how it goes.

      Your going to have to submerge the bolt heads in a penatrant oil. Build up a damn around the bolt head with clay or plasticine at least 8 inches past if you have the clearance and pour wd40 or mix of trans fluid and acetone 50/50 mix. Let it sit for a week or two and than remove and try again.

      One of the servo motors for air box is accesible from driver side. If your noticing air not being dorected when you switch dial or air temperature from hot to cold. you can remove servo motor from box still installed and seats in place. Just remove the driver side front panal to gain access to corner of air box that has this servo motor on it. Not sure if this servo motor is temperature motor or door flap motor for directing air. Cant remember.

It might be allot easier to remove a 4x4 complete engine from vehocle to instal in your 2x2.

    Mechman4- My ‘68 bronco’s 289 begins seriously vibrating at 2800 rpm. Occurs on all 4 gears and when not in gear. So far I have replaced the harmonic balancer, the motor mounts, replaced plugs, electronic distributor, upgraded coil, checked firing sequence, and the ignition from points to dynaspark. Regardless, the truck is next to undriveable above 3k rpms. Does this sound like a balance shaft/timing issue?

    • @mechman4
      @mechman4 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ford 4 liter had a ballancer shaft. If your ford bronco has the 289 cubic inch displacement engine its a v8 5 liter which does not have the ballancer shaft in it. Not sure if you meant 1968 or 2008. Ford didnt make the bronco in 1968. Do you have any check engine lights.come on with your drivabillity issue ? No power above 3800 rpm ? If no check engine light on and no stored code to retrieve which would tell you the problem. Could be fuel delivery problem. Check your fuel pressure followed by replacing fuel conponents like fuel pump and pressure regulator if pressure is low.

      Hello friend. I used the repaired rubber boots for about a year or 3000km before deciding to replace them with the new chinese ones i bought from ebay. But there was no real.reason to replace them since in more than confident they could have lasted even longer, maybe even to pressent day now. I did have a problem sealing where the bolt heads go. For theses areas i recomend using a little silicone when installing to help seal it. Other than that your repair, if done well should last you a couple years or longer, im sure.

    Good info, I just now repaired a honda elite 80 fuel sending unit. Tank was rusted and the contacts of the unit were full of oxidation. It had quicklock starlock washers holding it together. As an option you could have used one of those on the spot where the rivet was placed, press on fit, done deal. Anyway back to my story, popped starlocks off, cleaned & jb welded the fragile hair like copper contacts that broke off the arm. Polished the resistance board, slapped it back together. To test, I connected back onto the harness, hooked a battery to the scoot, turned the key. Gauge started working. I could move the arm up and down and the needle on the gauge followed perfectly. I was about to drop 70 bucks on a new one from honda, got lucky I guess. Good work man!

      If you didnt remove the ballancer shaft chain and the tensioner was still keeping ballencer chain taught/tite so no chance that chain could have jumped teeth, than your good. no worries. the timing procedure in my video is only if you have removed the ballancer shaft chain or if you believe ballancer shaft chain has jumped teeth due to a failled tensioner like was the case on my engine.

    Great video Wish i had have see your video while i had the my motor open and out of the car . Have installed new timing chains front and back of motor. That part has all gone well but i had no idea about the timing of the balance shaft. I remember lining up the dots on the sprocket gear but did not pay any attention to the hole on the balance shaft. I think the timing is out because the motor has a strange vibration at higher revs as it goes through the gears. Is there any way of checking this other than exposing the front timing chains. If it is out how can it be corrected without taking the motor out of the car . Look forward to your reply Regards George

    • @mechman4
      @mechman4 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      hello George, sorry for late reply. I believe you may be able to check your timing marks align by removing the oil pan and visually inspecting dots align when cylinder number 1 is at top dead centre on compression ignition stroke. however correcting this allignment if out may require removing timing chain cover to remove balancer shaft bolt to reposition balancer shaft gear to crank gear. Allot of work to correct less work to check. hope that helps.
