A couple of thoughts/questions: 1) with no conferences being consolidated, were closures of redundant personnel and offices initiated? 2) why have a slate of Bishop candidates requiring significant time spent by delegates being a total waste of time if a write-in can win with limited information available on them? 3) if it passes that each conference can have their own Book of Non-Discipline could we recommend Individual BODs? I prefer setting my own rules to follow (sorry, that is the old sinful me sneaking out). Lastly, I’m pretty creative but even I couldn’t write a horror story like this. Of course I say this in all Christian love.
They've been planning this for 2 decades. Back in the early 2000's, I was asked to write a petition creating a formula by which bishops were assigned based on potential population centers rather than existing church membership. When I looked at the formula they wanted to use, just the larger Los Angeles and San Francisco region would require a total of 4 Episcopal leaders for California alone. After looking at the ridiculous nature of the proposal, I said I wouldn't be the one to make that proposal. Looks like they almost got their dream fulfilled.
I like your Guests. Im just Suprised they are Staying UMC with all the changes.
I'm surprised Joe is still UMC but not about Odell and Lonnie.

You get a discipline, and you get a discipline, and you get a discipline, and ...
I read this a few times before I realized you're probably doing this in an Oprah voice. Nice.
SE juris Down 2 Bishops, while Western Juris Gained 2 Bishops!!!
Don't care how many bishops the UMC gains or loses. They are no longer a Church. It won't survive another five years.
What a hoot!
