I love this hoover!! The only thing that is missing a holder for the attachments. I had that on my previous shark corded stick hoover. Very helpful video :)
Great information - i was scratching my head about removing post motor filter having only managed to remove the cover. Watching it being done was a great help. Thank you.
We bought one of these and people need to know its weak points. The bending joint is quite fragile on the side and after a time they break and the cleaner wobbles side to side to the extent that it is unusable. Also, the head of the machine gets clogged up very easily. Which might be a concern to pet owners. We have no pets but it clogged every time we used it, no matter how well it was cleaned. With this experience, I can only suggest you buy this as a stand-by or for small areas that don't get a lot of traffic. .
I read quite a few reviews and Lot of people have said this about this vacuum or all the sharks wand type vacuums the joints r weak and break and shark wont cover them under warranty saying its “ neglect “ and r refusing to cover them! ( what a joke) I’ve been looking to by a vacuum as i got a gift card for curry’s over xmas and i just got hard flooring, really just need something light weight and easy to nip around with i don’t need the anti hair wrap as i don’t have pets or a misses 😂 but i like the extension that comes with it, the anti-wrap extension looks like it will be perfect for my corner sofa rather then the brush. Any thing you recommend?
I have this 1. You can vacuum underneath some furniture cabinets if you have room not easy to control on that angle but easier than getting down on hands and knees.
Really good explanation of everything. I am looking for a much lighter vacuum than my current Hoover upright one, due to health reasons, but I have decided I don’t want to go down the cordless route. I do have a cordless Vax blade, which I feel is fine for quick, in-between cleans, but for a proper clean, for me, I prefer a corded vacuum. I think the only thing is that if I want a more lightweight vacuum, then I will have to compromise on the capacity of the dust canister, but for me the weight has become the important issue. I have found this video and information very helpful, thank you.
I have got this, really good, but the issue i have is within a few minutes of use, the metal cone in the bin is completely wrapped with hair and fluff, it's not dropping in the bin and every few minutes i have to stop and clean it... Can you help?
I think you missed explaining how open the dust cup to empty it. Mine is stuck for some reason (after my very first use). I'd hate to force it open and risk breaking it.
A lot of the tools are interchangeable between different Shark vacuums, but if you have an older model, i would physically try and double check that old tools will fit a new vacuum
what is the floor clearance of the front roller of shark HZ 500 duo cleaner ? mine doesn't seem to make contact with a wooden floor that I can slip a cardboard sheet under it ?
If it has a "T" at the end of the model number then it will have the Turbo brush included. I would always recommend going for the model with the turbo brush / pet tool.
I wish the user manual does not show the vacuum cleaner as being able to be oriented fully upright (completely vertical) because it does not and it can not. The wand will always be leaning somewhat backward. It can never be fully vertical. This inaccurate depiction in the usual manual may cause some anxiety when the user puts the parts together out of the box.
@@lords-electrical thanks for the reply if i am thinking correctly is it only the air driven brush available or is there a motorised version for this model?
1) Birds moult. Hair / fur is shed. 2) Watch your microphone. The sounds of the paper that close to the mic is deafening. 3) You didn't state whether or not the turbo brush is powered by electricity or suction. I have a vacuum that came with such a brush and it's "powered" only by suction and is 100% useless. I'm looking for a new vacuum with one that's belt driven (as in powered by electricity). 4) You seem nice enough, just a tad boring. Try to include more details and _show_ them also. (Such as item 3's question.) Video was a bit dark. If you could add a bit more light (simulated sunlight preferably if not actual sunlight) would help. 5) Thank you for the info you've provided, it has helped in my search.
pity nothig is said about most important thing - sucking power, please don't be confuse with unit power, what is more annoying the Shark itself doesn't share this info on their website so I ask how you can buy Shark and not knowing how strong it sucks;) very strange firm poliicy to me, I can only suspect that it probably can't compete with other brands on the market that's why it's hidden. I like the unit feautures and 5 yo manufacture guarantee but saddly you don't really know what you buying.
I agree it can be difficult making a buying decision without the full facts. This is why i try and recommend going into a store and trying them out. This way you can check to see how it performs compared to a rival model before you commit to buy one.

What a nice guy and such a great intro to the model. Really clear !!😊
Very good video. Was extremely clear and informative. It was 15 minutes well spent. Thank you
I have this 1. You can vacuum underneath some furniture cabinets if you have room not easy to control on that angle but easier than getting down on hands and knees.
That’s a wonderful explanation! So polite and informative!
Why thank you
Brilliant instructional video! Very comprehensive and everything was clearly explained. Thank you.
No problem glad this was helpful for you 😌

That’s what happened and what the metal bins used for. To catch the hair
Is it good suction what price please
I really like paper packaging too.
To store can i just keep the najn part on the wand i have lut it in a big packet in panty.
Was considering this but … umm, having to hold the motor as a hand held .. may be a bit heavy for my shoulder.
Great explanation of all the features
watching a shark hoover review and the adds on video are for Dyson 😂😂😂😂
I think you missed explaining how open the dust cup to empty it. Mine is stuck for some reason (after my very first use). I'd hate to force it open and risk breaking it.
thanks for this video, found it really useful when setting up my new shark :)
No problem, glad it was useful, thanks for the feedback 😊
Can you use different shark accessories on different shark hoovers ?
A lot of the tools are interchangeable between different Shark vacuums, but if you have an older model, i would physically try and double check that old tools will fit a new vacuum
as a cat owner ,how good is this for moulten hair ?
Thanks great video. Can i ask what is the difference between the gold and the purple one please? HZ500UK, is it just doesnt come with turbo brush?
Yes, the HZ500UKT comes with the turbo brush and the UK version doesn't.
Great video- easy to follow in real time
Thanks for sharing
Thank you for the video! 👏🏻 Very timely for me as I just bought one and am too lazy to read the manual
Glad I'm not the only one. 🙂
Your review was very informative and helpful. Thank you mate 👌🏼
No problem, glad it was useful for you. 👍
Is the turbo brush meant to whizz round ? Because mine doesn’t
Yes the turbo brush should go round. If it's still under warranty then Shark should be able to sort this out for you.
nice explanation
thinking of ordering this hoover... Would you recommend it??
Yes it is a great vacuum
what is the floor clearance of the front roller of shark HZ 500 duo cleaner ? mine doesn't seem to make contact with a wooden floor that I can slip a cardboard sheet under it ?
hz500 or Stratos? Thank!
Very clear and informative, thanks.
Does this one have the pet tool?
Is the turbo brush now called the pet tool please
Is the higher number does it mean the newer model
If it has a "T" at the end of the model number then it will have the Turbo brush included. I would always recommend going for the model with the turbo brush / pet tool.
Great review, I've just purchased this model. Are these easy to clean and how often do you recommend taking apart to clean?
Thanks
Really depends on how often you vacuum and how dirty it gets but it shouldn't need doing more than twice a year
Do we wash the hepa filter?thx
Is this more powerful than the equivalent battery powered model?
The paper packaging is great. I wonder if it’s like that in the US.
how do you empty it?
I wish the user manual does not show the vacuum cleaner as being able to be oriented fully upright (completely vertical) because it does not and it can not. The wand will always be leaning somewhat backward. It can never be fully vertical. Is there a motorised turbo brush for this model?
As long as the model ends in UKT then it will include a motorised turbo brush.

I absolutely HATE the folding feature 😒😒
er saugt ja nicht einmal damit ?🤔
Awful brand. Shark products are designed to be replaced and not repaired. Waste by design.
