So god damn hype. These selectors could barely keep the needle connected to the record half the time due to the crowd reaction. This is a very cool and unique segment of musical history. Soundsystem/Dancehall culture is my favorite of all time. Best stuff ever and I am eternally grateful for their tendency to record this stuff. God damn amazing history to this amazing culture. There are hundreds of amazing recordings like this. We should salute to the people who has the wisdom to record all of these amazing events. My heart and soul goes out to them.
I was thinking the same thing the other day. Whichever genius thought let's record these dances, way back when, must be saluted! Decades later people across the globe can go back in time and remember dances they went to or cassettes they had and may not have now and remember with clarity the memories from them time deh. And also fill in the gaps for a lot of people to dances they missed out on, cassettes and videos they didn't get and some people that weren't lucky enough to even be born or old enough to appreciate these vibes!
I was at this dance. The best dance by far LP ever played. They deserved the win. Addies came in on a high horse because LP Earth Ruler Supreme were all considered as one double Aaaa or B level sounds despite playing with the big sounds from Jamaica 🇯🇲. LP should of took that win and ride the wave across the world but that never happened. I could never think of a point in LP’s history where I could say yes LP run America. No matter what they did or where they went LP was always over shadowed by Addies.
I was at this dance also. The one thing that I always remembered about this dance was how crowded Biltmore was. My God!!!!! This dance was much anticipated that year!! Such great memories
@@brownhornet1975 yes. With more big Artists making themselves available to do Dubplate in the late 90’s and early 2000s. I think that it is safe to say that Lp caught up to Addies along the lines of Foundation Dubplates. Lp passed Addies along the lines of Foundation combination Dubplates.
LP was my sound in the 80’s and 90’s Stereo Fish was trouble on the mic. When him leaves LP for Libra Love Machine… LP has never recovered😞 Big Up Puma and the whole 40’s massive😊

I attended Every LP vs Addies Clash.... And me and my crew was posted up right by Addies Speakers.... NEVER SEE ANYONE CUT NO WIRES.... Only Saw the Box boys near the area and dem speaker was smoking
Well that is your opinion.... but that night the victory went to LP ..... now the Second Clash At the Spot in Empire Addies won that dance easy .... And the 3rd Clash we already know LP destroyed them
Respect ... and Good Discussion.... The Forwards, and Streets decided who was the victor that night and when many heard the audio nuff ppl said LP won... it wasn’t a beaten more of a win they got by....I wasn’t a fan of either sound that night but the Vibes from the crowd was on a next level when LP played the Soca Dub and a few other bombs
And Respectfully the 3rd one has to count ..... it was part of the history .... now Addies wasn’t prepared the youths didn’t know that catalog ....Killah D was able to kill them from his knowledge alone
