Cash in 3 different places: 1. in my handluggage trolley, 2. some money in my small backpack, 3. And some with me (money belts and pocket) For the credit and debit cards something similar plus apple pay
MONEY! Thank you so much for these really insightful, informative, and generally very helpful videos. They have really been especially helpful in reminding us of all the many important things that we need to think about and prepare for (from money, to phone service, to general safety and well being while traveling, to travel insurance). Thanks so much.
Another wonderful video. Just make sure that your credit card is contactless as well. Prior to leaving for Europe I go to my local bank and order currency for the countries that I am going to visit. Its $8 for the transaction. So I can order 200 Euros, 200 Pounds, 200 Swiss Francs for the one $8 fee (or whatever currency you require). I go against the norm on this but I do not take an ATM card. I take two contactless credit cards that have no foreign transaction fees. Why no ATM card? It seems to be very confusing on what the fees will be when conducting the transaction. There are all kinds of ATM machines (all over Europe in tourist destinations) claiming no commission and other gimmicks to get you to use them. I assume they get you with a lower exchange rate. If someone is versed on which ATM's to use then there will not be a problem. I do take US currency for possible emergency situations. I've never had a need to use it. I admit I run a risk of having my foreign currency or US currency stolen. I have been going to Europe often. I have never had any type of issue.
@@thetravelcoaches Thanks. I think the really nice part of these videos and any comments or discussion is that the reader can pick and choose the tips that work best for them. I love to discuss travel and you never know when you might hear something that makes you say, "hmmmmm."
Hi 😊Money. For me mostly cash for small expenses, but prepaid excursions prior to arrival to destination It helps a lot with budgeting. TKS for all tour fabulous tips. Happy travel❤
Keep a list of all cards and the card info for each credit card you’re carrying in the case of theft so you can report them stolen and cancel/lock them. Keep a backup credit card at your accommodation in a safe place in case of theft.

Most of my credit card banks say there is no need to tell them when going abroad
That is very true! For credit cards it is not necessary, but I would recommend it for a debit card. Thanks for watching ❤️

Banks now allow logging planned travel dates and locations in their apps. No phone calls needed.
