3's intro is seriously a masterpiece!! It was far ahead in 98 and it still holds up today. 3 isnt only regarded the best rated and most successful tekken, but its one of the best ps1 games of all time. So many memories...

I treasure so many memories of playing Tekken 3 with my cousins during the late 90s / early 2000s. It was such a huge step forward for Namco and really solidified them as the producer of one of the premier fighting game franchises alongside Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. 👊
Tekken 4 was the best for me, it was a part of my childhood, amazing storyline, every character story, great and powerful soundtracks, and of course one of the best announcer voice of the entire saga.
I'm a huge fan of steve fox who first appears in tekken 4.

The storyline transition from Tekken 4 to Tekken 5 makes them probably the two best Tekken games. Then again you can never go wrong with some Tekken Tag

Heihachi kidnaps Jin and defeats Kazuya in the final round then brings him to Honmaru -> Kazuya gets possessed by Devil and he knocks Heihachi out -> Devil attempts to absorb the Devil Gene within Jin, but Kazuya started fully controlling Devil and gain back control -> He awakes Jin and challenges him -> Jin defeats Kazuya, then Heihachi wakes up and challenges Jin -> Jin defeats Heihachi and then flies away.

I didn't play Tekken 1 as I came in around Tekken 2 but pretty much lol And then we got Tekken 4-5 and I thought there's no way they'll look better graphically as those were the best we were gonna get lol
When the PS1 released, I got the Tekken pack, had no idea what it was but the front looked cool as a kid.
Ever since then I bought 2, 3, Tag, 4, 5, 6, Tag 2 and I played Tekken 7 when I was in Japan a few months ago.
I'll get it when it hits PS4 here.
Played it back in 1995 on arcades on large screens with bleeding colours and heavy subwoofer audio was great experience.

My first Tekken was Tekken 2, I got goosebumps when the music cued.
I still remember how I lost my shit when I accidentally and unknowingly discovered the big head feature, I didn't know wtf happened, I struggled for a long time trying to figure out if it was a cheatcode or some random occurrence, that was at a time before we could conveniently go on the internet and find cheats and guides anywhere. I had no game magazine with T2 guides either, I had to learn the more advanced techniques through trial and error with the highest difficulty CPU. Heck, I was ecstatic when I saw the CPU do some rare crazy shit against ME.
I still have my notebook where I've written down all the moves I've discovered on my own.
Kazuya and Jun were my coincidentally favourite characters, then I found out who Jin was, happy times(still miss playing his parents separately though, didn't like Jin that much either) then I found out (much later) why Jun wasn't in the T3 roster, sad times...
Those were good times, man.
(Oh I also still miss that Kazuya throw with the double high sweep in the face with the Tekken 2 grunts. Especially the "Twha!")

Teeken 5 was the first of the series i ever OWNED(played the other games at friends or relatives). was super hyped up for this game, the opening was great with the introduction of my fav Asuka Kazama, the great music fit sooo well too! everything looked soo well done and very realistic in my eyes, can't say more... 😍

RaginDXDemon agreed. I've heard Tekken 7's story mode/setting will be inspired by the way Tekken 4 did it all, including in the way you described (Aside from the Paul part, sadly.) it also appears to take inspiration from How Mortal Kombat 9 and X both did story mode.

Tekken 5 didnt have the full games so to speak. It was STRICTLY the arcade version. You couldn't complete 1,2, and 3 via story mode in Tekken 5.

Omg I miss Tekken 4 and 5 sooo much. They were my childhood games on of my first games Tekken and Driver parallel lines. I started to play them when I was 3 yrs old. I liked evrey character especially Marduk and their movies and the intro was just so awesome. I remember when I had a fear of when Heihachi threw Kazuya off a cliff, god I thought it was so scary when the song off the scene started to play and Heihachi just came there with his son on his hands. I even used to wear socks on my hands, wear black pants and paint red fire on the pants just to look like Jin Kazama. Ahh miss Tekken 5.

Tekken 4 I think was the greatest Tekken ever, yet I feel that nobody ever talks about it. The backgrounds in that game were amazing and really made me feel like I was controlling a character in a physical enviroment and not some infinite abstract platform without bounds that went on forever and ever. Also, the character designs and costumes were superb. I also feel the same way about Virtua Fighter 3, my favorite Virtua Fighter yet nobody ever talks about it.
In both of these games,they changed a bit the gameplay formula and that pissed off the fans.
Same happened to Mortal Kombat 3 and KOF 99.
