well i have the gytr model so i can tune my gearing through my phone and when tuned it actually goes pretty smooth at 110kph or 70ish mph. top speed is about 100mph and it has better gas range because of gearing. it lasts about 200 km which for the small tank is amazing
@@NorthEastXC so when you say u can tune your gearing from your phone does it actually change the top speed and the speeds between each gear without changing sprockets?
@@goon.1 sorry i meant i can adjust air/fuel mixture and ignition timing, it does make the bike faster by putting different timings and fuel settings etc, i had yz parts on it aswell so they make a difference too
Wow that sounds great low but what does it sound like when you wind it out? The stock muffler is like indy car crazy sounding on the yz450fx... everyone in the city knows if I light it up lol!
I’ll have to get a video of it! I know what you mean it sounds crazy haha, I find I rarely need full throttle for the riding I’ve done but it’s very rewarding to have the full power of the bike
did you have to do anything else to it? i put the stock yz250f muffler on my 21wr250f so it would be louder, when i rev the bike no matter how warm it was it would stall or when down shifting into first it would also stall. That being said my connecting rod bearing did fail so could have been that
It doesn’t come in very well in my opinion which has kept me from trying to get a video up, maybe if I had a go pro I could capture it. My input though I would definitely spend the money on a slip on these bikes are too quiet from the factory and need to be heard
@@jacobd230 I have the WR250F 2023 still in stock form and the header pipe glows red whenever Im on the gas and just driving normal but immediately cools down when I let off the throttle. Did you have this prblem ever? I was thinking its just running lean and if I remove the airbox and exhaust bafffle thing, itll fix the prblem?
@@blakemarkin9783 I noticed that exact same thing at first I thought it was something to do with the exhaust but even on the stock pipe it was doing it. I’m not sure if there is a fix or if it’s just normal but I’m using the maps supplied from Yamaha with the same results
@@jacobd230 Thank you so much for the reply, you are literally the first and only person of over 20 people I've asked with newer WR250's. So your bike is still stock other than the FMF exhaust? Just to confirm that we are having the same symtoms, your header pipe will turn red when youre on the throttle and actually moving, but the second you let off the throttle and slow down, it cools off? My 250F can idle all day long and not over heat or have the header turn red, its only when Im on the throttle moving. Are you still experiencing the red hot exhaust with the FMF? Have you done any mods to the bike such as remove the exhaust baffle thing, removing the air intake snorkel? Are you running the stock ECU or the yamaha competition ECU? I bought the ECU but have not installed it. I hoped the new ECU would come with a different map straight out of the box because I do not have the CCU or tuner yet. Im so curious to know more about your situation to hopefully help myself and possibly others down the road
@@blakemarkin9783 I’m glad I could help! Isn’t it crazy I know these bikes sold but somehow finding anything out is near impossible. But I was in the same situation with the completely stock bike. So when I swapped to the fmf slip on only I still noticed the issue. Shortly after I got the competition ecu and the ccu and loaded up the maps Yamaha provides. I still notice the red header pipe especially in the front last wrap around by your left leg and right out of the engine. I’m not sure what causes it but I find it really strange and haven’t been able to see a change after any maps swapping. But I don’t know how to make any custom adjustments without causing damage. I also have the air box snorkel removed but only after I got the ecu and ccu installed.

That’s the stock light actually, the wr250’s have them along with the headlight and speedometer with odometer

Yo bro in your opinion, which one of those factory exhaust sounds the most aggressive?
Definitely any of the yz models. They’ll have the more race oriented exhaust system which is louder than the trail bikes

It’s just fixed to it. Yamaha sells the bike that way

I’d personally put the blame on that connecting rod bearing. Even before the competition ecu the bike ran with only minor lurches

It may but I would try asking fmf directly to make sure or anyone else who maybe was able to try and fit it on a forum
Hi , are there are proformance gains.
How does it compare to stock?
It’s a lot more tolerable to ride long days, stock the throttle is snappy and shortened. The bike feels much more linear with power now

Does is backfire or pop on deceleration for you with no spark arrestor? Just got one and don't know of it's normal or running lean
Mine doesn’t which was weird to me. But sometimes it’ll throw a flame when I shut it off just from whatever fuel being in the exhaust
