I was exactly the same. I wish I could take my mind back in time to when I was a kid and put more effort in then, cause I wish I started lifting weights properly when I was in my early teens, instead of my early 20's.
@@blademontaneIt’s ok. We can always look back and wish we started doing something at 15, or 10, or 5 years old etc. The universe led us to this point at that time, and it couldn’t have happened any other way. No need to be perfect ❤
This is so hard! I am absolutely obsessed with fitness (particularly lifting) and that obsession just keeps growing each day. I have also always been drawn towards helping people. Getting into a career where I can make money helping people get fit and better there lives sounds like an absolute dream. The thing is, I am introverted, anxious and pretty awkward particularly with new people. I don’t know if I should do it or not, but my gut tells me I should.
Just speaking generally and less about PT. But you won't know unless you try it, man. I know that's a bit of a minimization of what you're describing, but it's the truth. There's no version of this where you have to stay in a field you aren't happy with; and I'd just hate for you to miss out on potentially finding your tribe, so to speak. The fact that you can identify your insecurities is a big part of overcoming them, though. You're clearly intelligent and self-aware. Now you just need to free yourself from your mind. I promise you that no one you interact with on a daily basis, new or otherwise, thinks you're as anxious or awkward as you think you are. And I'd also wager that each and every one of them have previously, or currently are battling some version of the same things.
I had my first baby 2 months ago. Unfortunately, my husband and I split up. I was already studying to become a PT prior to the separation but now I need to go 10 times harder and faster. Is there any advice that you have for me? Your pod kicks ass! Thanks for the quality content and keeping it raw and real.
Christina, I may not have a baby and split relationship, but I’m kinda in the same boat for different reasons, I start my course next week, I hope ya doing well 👍🏻🙏🏻
@@Sacrifice-Paid Thank you for the kind words☺️ It sucks being in a situation like this but it helps to know that I am not alone and there are others going through the same thing. To be honest with you, I finally feel free and empowered. I am determined to be the best version of myself that I can be for both me, and my baby girl. I hope you are finding some light through all of this as well. Have a blessed holiday season and may 2022 be filled with happiness and opportunities for you! 💜
Do what’s best for you but again don’t get into it for the money. One piece of advice for beginners is find a Exclusive club over a Public Gym…exclusive clubs won’t hire a PT unless there is a need. Public gyms just hire PT’s in anticipation of or for sales purposes…
@@manlai3657 Don’t be afraid to be yourself but never be too arrogant to grow your knowledge. Stick to your core strengths (I.e. Flexibility, Strength training or Cardio) and build your programs around that. That way you know when to add in new exercises and when not too. And learn your clients the better you understand them and what they are looking for the more likely they will be to stick around. One more thing and The Mind Pump guys talk about this…don’t go in with a scarcity mentality..the US is the Fattest and Richest country in the world you will find clients
I’m in a wheelchair 🦼 and have some other disabilities. But I driven to do it because I’m motivated to push people to be the best . But not a bully about it .
I'm so confused tbh haha.. like I love workouts out and I even have a cert but idk how to go about it and now idk if I want to do it..like I do but idk how to and I'm kinda shy so it's just a mess lol
I love personal training and I’m good at it, but minimum wage doesn’t cut it. There’s a lot of work into it for just getting paid cents. I can’t believe I can make more money doing nothing somewhere else.
Yeah definitely don't become a personal trainer unless your truly a health nut or gym rat (I say those terms with love lol). Getting my NASM certification made me realize I hate kinesiology and am not interested at all in nutrition or the science of training. Got my first session with a client at a commercial gym tomorrow (was a boxing coach before that). I like teaching and am sociable but I'm not at all willing to do the further learning that it will take to make a career out of this. I will not enjoy explaining that to my manager lmao
Yup! And here locally, a lot of trainer's have passion, but they don't make almost any money. They need to get a second job or have to end up stopping personal training to make enough money to pay the bills. So basically you walk into any random gym and a lot of gym members know more than the trainers because the gyms can't keep any of the good trainers.
You can be a people person and be introverted too if your passionate about it. I hated PE in school but I was obsessed with fitness in my early 20's

I agree with everything you’ve said
