    This is a great video. I really wanted to buy the Rode because of cost overall but when you switched from the Shure to the Rode I immediately knew I had to get the Shure. The Rode sounds so tinny and hissey compared the the full Shure sound. Thanks for making this and subscribed. Sláinte

    I've used the Rode NT USB for online tutoring for 2 years now. Every day. And have also live streamed at maths teaching conferences. Very easy to set up as it is USB as long as you mic it up close on a boom mic stand and not on a table. For live stream singing and studio recording I use the Shure SM7B. The Shure needs a USB audio interface as well + extra boost through a cloudlifter. Which is extra hardware to invest in and know about. Overall for teaching purposes, the Rode USB is a no brainer, just plug and play into computer.

    By the way, I also rush between these two microphones.
    I consider shure sm7b in combination with universal audio volt 276
    but it is not mobile and I will need to move in future and in this regard rode nt-usb wins.
    If we take into account the fact that shure sm7b does not write the room mainly, but
    it’s opponent is against it, rode nt-usb writes every sound and with it, I think there will be more
    trouble for post processing.

      XxSlightxX the cloudlifter is totally optional but makes a profound difference. As far as XLR + mic, you just need something to record into unless you buy an XLR to USB converter and go direct into your computer. I have the Rodecaster Pro, gives you a lot of settings options.

    Nice video! One thing I’d like to point out is that you are wrong with the fact that xlr is superior to usb in terms of signal transportation. They transfer completely different kind of signals and it is not what affects the xlr vs usb mic sound difference at all. XLR is used to transfer analog audio only to your audio interface which will do the Analog-to-digital conversion. USB isn’t used to transfer your analog audio at all. USB mic has a built in analog-to-digital converter and the sound difference simply comes from the difference between your external standalone xlr audio interface and the tiny one built into the usb mic. The usb cable only transfers the pre-converted digital info and it does it perfectly fine so you can’t say that xlr is superior to usb.

    • @bvdzh
      @bvdzh ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much. Very detailed and nice explained. So is it right to guess that the NTUSB is maybe even better balanced out, than analog mics with external interface? Due to everything is built in and not put together. Also signal transfer could be faster and easier with USB mics?

    This video was AMAZING. I own a Blue Yeti and I m finding out how much I have to do to get it to sound good from using the lowest gain setting to maybe going into a closet to also doing some Audio enhancements
    I think for me the NT is perfect because with little setup and editing you can get a great sounds it seems like. For an XLR mic, it’s not only the PRICE of having more hardware needed but also LEARNING how to use that sound board as well as how a filter works
    What I have learned is you need to do research on HOW MUCH WORK a mic takes to sound good before you buy it and how many things like hardware or software like audition you need to learn to get great sound
    I bought the Yeti for voiceovers and found it it was better for live recordings and for gamers etc
    I would recommend to everyone start with the NT and as you grow and learn more you go more expensive and complicated!
