It’s a mortising axe grandad had one just like it in his wood shed. Used to notch logs to fit together when stacked across each other. The drill is a Yankee push drill.
The Stanley 'drill' was actually issued to telephone installers when telephones had dials and were hard-wired to the wall. Each drill bit has a specific use. There was a 'civilian' version made as well; those are kind of rare.
Double bit feeling axe made in Germany, made for trees and large timber in the 1800's used for felling trees and splitting large logs. Some were forged in North America in 1888. Today's are saddle axes and double bit axes are allot smaller.
We get one pair of eyes…consider wearing safety eyewear please and thank you! Edit: the portable shower is a practical thing, and it’s hose is long enough for tall guys :-)
It wasn’t made to split wood, it’s for shaving and hollowing logs
Indeed Sir, You are right! 💪🏼
Or you can split skulls
It’s actually a Twibil or mortising axe. Made for cutting notches in logs to lock together like Lincoln logs.
Looks like something I would be able to use in Valhalla.
