Also, Rim rd/FR300 heading West from the 260 at the Woods Canyon Lake access goes about 60 miles to Hwy 87 near Clints Well..with A Lot of forest access...
hey thanks Dave really appreciate it I am new to AZ and full time boondocking And been concerned getting stuck in the desert in the summer LoL these sounds like life saver I can bounce back and forth on these and even grab a campsite with hookups every once in awhile Great information
All those places are free - except for the Campgrounds I mentioned - get an annual pass if don’t have one already, it will pay for itself in no time even if you just use it occasionally.
Great descriptions combined with map views helps me be clear on where a location is. What map service do you use on your videos? It seems much clearer than Google. Thanks so much for your efforts!
@@Goodyearlife thank you for watching! I actually use a combination of Google, Compendium and Gaia maps for the videos. When I’m out on my trips I use Gaia the most.
these used to be your favorites... now everyone and their uncle knows about them and they'll be trashed, overused and crowded. Fortunately, I don't go to these particular places (although I know all these areas you've featured), and I like the spots I go. Therefore, my lips are sealed
Here's the link for America the Beautiful Pass: usparkpass.com/senior-military-access-or-other-passes/ it's $80 for Seniors Lifetime Pass / $10 for Veterans!
FYI you can also buy a yearly one for $20 bucks as a senior, then when you have four you turn them in for the lifetime pass. Also cheaper to buy at a forest ranger office, and save the $10 bucks shipping. Like a little payment plan, hurry on this before the government finds out. Haha.
@@Ournomadicjourney oh yes, this time of year you will have that almost everywhere in the mountains 🏔️ we just went up to Happy Jack area last week and it really poured down, puddles were all around us.
I know, some folks don’t mind the heat. My Dads like that. I’m a native but still like cooler weather on occasion - I see folks boondocking around here all the time June - August…🥵
Thank you for this video. I've been looking for places to camp in Az. I'm looking forward to going out soon.
thank you for all the grate info

Hubby and I love camping at fr 222. We found a great spot, but the rain is making it rough getting in and out.

Great video-thank you!
Really informative. Thanks.
Good video , would have been nice to know what size rigs could get into each area.👍🏻
Yes, that’s a great idea - thanks for the suggestion! 😉
Cooler places would be good!!!!
Mount Graham

I know a guy that camps year round in quartzsite. Help him build a solar trailer for air conditioning
