I really like the videos you do with your mom. There is a warmth to it, and lots of love. Seeing you and your mom travel and laugh together reminds me of the recent time I spent with my mother as she got older. My mother and I went there with her many friends every warm summer day until I turned 12 (1994). There used to be a wooden platform on the lake where we always swam and then lay on it. As a child I was always thrown into the water, which I particularly enjoyed. Thank you for showing this!

Mike you should search for flea markets and such. Germany has flea markets every week in multiple areas I have read and the stuff you could find and talk about would be so interesting. Pawn shops? Weird interesting museums! 💥

I see your editing as the main reason I am here. I was impressed when there were 3 GIVs on the picnic table. I think I had that interest and that is why I never bought my son junkie plastic toys. I always combined his events and bought him good stuff like video cameras, video game sets, computers, and electric keyboards. He has a successful career working for a nation media company in Philadelphia. I am about as old as your mom. I married into a family that was quite German even though they never had ties to the old country.
It’s all good Mike. I came to Canada when I was 16 and at 61 I still have trouble explaining my feelings the wrong way and people misunderstand. Was in Holland just 2 weeks ago and felt so much more relaxed when I was there just like you are now. Have fun and just do what you do. I will still watch 😊
10:21 chestnuts, we have two kinds of it, they grow a lot in my city of Koblenz 🇩🇪 too. The streets / parks and gardens are currently full of them. One kind is called Kastanie (chestnut) and the other is called Esskastanie (literally: eatable chestnut). The man was collecting Esskastanien. They have spines on the outer shell, the non-eatable Kastanien don’t 🌰🌰🌰 Esskastanien we usually roast in the fire and they taste very nice, a little bit like baked potatoes with a nutty flavor. It’s one of the most popular snacks you‘ll gonna find on German Christmas markets. The regular Kastanien are used by kids to make small figures with them. Fun fact: did you know that you can bring chestnuts to the headquarter of HARIBO in Bonn? They weigh them and you get the same amount in Kilogramm of tasty HARIBO sweets. We used to go there as kids every year 😀 HARIBO uses the chestnuts for donating them to farm animal shelters with horses, porks and cows etc.
