  • Here is a demo of how to work the CCM on my new route bus for 2022-23. I'll have a start up video on this bus soon as amazingly enough, it only took the first 4 days of the school year before my bus was back up and running (it was down because something went wrong with the steering column's tilt feature and it had to go to the dealer because the workshop couldn't fix it).

    Important note: This does not apply to all Child Check-Mate systems as some are deactivated with the key off rather than on. This specific system is the EP2plus Theft-Mate TTK. Also charter mode is only available if your system is incorporated with Theft-Mate so if there is no motion sensor, the only purpose of the red button in the back is for deactivating the system after a driver performs their child check.

    This voice is amazing. I have had issues in years past where the alarm system was still beeping when placed in ACC and wouldn't deactivate the system. Thank you so much for posting this video. Stay well Friend. Keep those wheels turning.

      Another interesting feature I just learned about is the one where if you have the reds on and turn the key to off, they will still be on and the CCM is snoozed for 8 minutes unless you turn off the warning light master switch or emergency red override (if your bus has one) before the horn will start going off.

    Thank you for the video my job never trained us on how to activate charter mode so I was confused

    Hey I was thinking you should show us some similarity parts in a car. Say things you would check and show us on a car. Like a simulated Pre trip. It could be how would you prepare your car for a long road trip. What are some parts that you could check before departure?

    The moment i switch off the bus for unloading and the alarm will set off almost immediately so annoying. The other I use to drive all I have to do is switch it to ACC and it won't trigger the alarm. This bus I have now is super annoying.

    Just note that this is the EP2 system. The EP1 has no speaker or motion sensor connections and is just a child check system.

    These checkmate things are becoming more and more complicated, lolhelp. Especially in spares, when you’re not exactly sure whether it’s activated or not and which position the key needs to be in.

      I'll agree with you on that one. Some of our newer buses have defective motion sensors already so it sets the horn off no matter what unless you are in charter mode.

    Why can’t u lower the bus windows all the way? In Delaware our buses we can lower them all the way and I’m just curious as to ur rules?

      @BusMaster99  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's my GPS for helping with routes. They also show exactly how fast the bus is going so it gives you an idea of whether your speedometer is accurate or not. All of our buses have one.

    What is the Child Check-Mate system?

    • @BusMaster99
      @BusMaster99  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's an alarm system that reminds school bus drivers to check for sleeping/hiding children after they have completed any given route.

    I don't know why First Student wires them for ACC and RUN to have the same function, normally one is used for unloading and the other one is used for the system itself

      It's because you're given a maximum of 3 minutes to idle your engine or you will be issued a point on your driver score for that week for idling.
