J2ME games will always have a special place in my heart. Since I grew up in a poor family, I couldn't have a PC or console to play video games, so J2ME games and free online games on the local library's computer were my only options. J2ME is underrated, there are some really good games on this platform but not many options to play them today, unless you have a keypad phone. I found J2ME Loader for Android to be the only one good emulator right now and it gets updated pretty regularly. I'm so happy that someone puts an effort to keep the J2ME platform alive :)
Memories and graphics at that time were pretty HD because to be honest Java games from Nokia at that time were the best games, I remember a moment when I was in school, my Nokia cell phone was made as a toy by 10 people and I saw it was very nostalgic.
These mobile Java games were superior compared to 16 bit like handheld console games, such as those made for the Gameboy Advance, because these games had the same quality as SNES games (if we are talking about 2D games), Neo Geo games (if we are talking about 2.5D games), or even Sega Saturn games (if we are talking about 3D games), and surprisingly sometimes these are actually a bit better than those.
@@NintendoDude888 GBA was inferior in every way compared to j2me. Screen resolution, audio quality, graphical fidelity, and the performance of j2me were way ahead of their time.
@@vexnik4880 Just talking about the games look, I think the graphic performance of most java games is between GBA and NDS, but there is a problem that cannot be ignored. Due to the game capacity, most of them cannot allow to have BGM and SE at the same time, which is much worse than handheld devices.
8:05 I love this game, I used to play it in the 2D version, I think I played it in 240x320 or 320x240 resolution. But in the java emulators available for Android I always played it in 240x320 resolution.
Anyone remember a game that the hero is skating with a long brown bonnet and the one of the enemies is named Kamikaze that will self destruct? It's a beat'em up game where there is a boss on the stages. I have forgotten the name of this game.

I doubt even someone could count a certain numbers. For example, one of popular web sites with java games, have number of 280 000 files to download, but those files have duplicates, so real amount of unique games on this one is triple less maybe. So i assume you not far from true
