Congrats on your purchase for under retail. Ming's design DNA/architecture does not resonate with me.
2 great purchases. Congrats Chris! Ming produces fantastic watches and I’m glad that they’re becoming more affordable on the secondary.
Awesome watch, a truly unique take on a Diver watch. The bezel makes sense with rubber gloves and I like the non serrated style. And that lume - I have never seen lume like that ever on a watch - and it goes on and on for just about ever. Ming Watches are an inspiration and are designed to the very last detail.
Have you ever gone diving with one?
Congrats on buying your first Ming and for a sensible price. 9 months ago I bought my first one the 17.03 GMT full kit Grade 2 Titanium. I did have a 17.09 in burgundy but sold it. Do not plan on getting another one.

I don't know what's up with all the hype with ALL Ming models.
Most of them are kind of meh to me. Not my cup of tea and I consider them overpriced for what they are.

p.s. for a lume comparrison see if you can get your hands on a Proxima (I know you used to have one) - the Proxima I had was way better than my Zelos!
I actually think that the bezel would be easier with gloves on as dive gloves are neoprene and have a lot of grip
This watch reminds me a bit of the case shape of a Swatch Bold bioceramic. Like if Swatch in an alternate universe made a serious watch, it would be very close to Ming
Great watch but the end links are a dealbreaker for me. If they were straight end links, I'd say ok. But the fact that they are curved, but don't form to the case gives the appearance that the bracelet wasn't made for the watch.

Wicked deal Chris, you made off like a thief. Way too much for the other watch especially with the problem with the winding of the Salida grinding off the teeth. You ended up with a better movement that has that winding mechanism patented. Don't feel bad about missing out on the other one I think this one is beautiful too.
I cannot decide it i find it to be genius design or just a gimmicky overpriced hype, love your take, the bezel gave me a bit pause as well, the thickness and loom, just insane...
Beautiful design, but I think they’re over priced. The finishing and the movement definitely don’t impress for the price and the bracelet looks like an afterthought.

I agree. It seems like a lot of money for a watch with a 2824, but it is a grade five titanium and there are a lot of bespoke elements that cost a lot of money to make. Also, considering that it retailed for $3,700 without the bracelet which I think was around 5:00 or $600 extra. So imagine paying that! Thanks for the comment
Lol at this price point I wouldn’t want a more expensive service cost. You’re not getting a high horology movement anywhere near this price, so what’s wrong with a 2824?
@@kevinfernandez8416 Plenty of watches with that movement for a quarter of the price or less. Titanium watches with ETA clones for less than half. If you value the Ming aesthetic that much… it’s an aesthetic choice. Ming’s aesthetic just doesn’t warrant that premium for me…
I don’t have a Zelos or Ming yet but regarding lume, my Submariner is legible throughout the night too.

Would look better in a satin bead blasted finish. That bracelet is horrid, as well. Very odd watch.
