Excellent commentary, but omg the camera tracking is so terrible as to be deliberate. Your only job is to follow the fencers as a camera operator. You have one job... Anyways as for the fencing I think LeFort attempted to counterattack on the first action of the bout and it didn't work so he may have been more wary of it. Also that yellow card that Alex got looked very much like Enzo stepped off the back of the strip first.

half the tofalides actions are evasions(not the literal term but the technical one) which should result to yellow cards, it is forbidden after a parry to try and evade moving laterally and i am amazed that he didn't get call once.

I assume you're referring to t.35.3, which is the rule that penalizes crossing the lateral boundary of the strip to avoid a touch, but I don't agree. I saw one really egregious example of Tofalides going off the strip (16:26), and that appeared to be him trying to avoid causing corps-a-corps, not trying to avoid being hit. A few other times he went off the side were after the referee called halt for some other reason. All his remises at longer distance didn't involve him stepping off the strip at all, just stepping forward to get inside Lefort's riposte. He did get a card at 15:00 for turning the back of his head, but stepping off the strip that time was clearly an accident and unrelated to him getting the card.
At any rate, claiming that 50% of his actions this bout should have drawn a yellow card is an exaggeration.

@@TheFoilist you can argue that at 3:30 instead of passing his opponent he evades laterally, at 10:35 he tries to evade the parry riposte by going off to the side, at 14:11 he stops the fleche because he got parried and escapes to the side, at 14:56 he does it again but gets penalized for turning his back, at 16:26 he just goes to the side to evade the riposte not to evade a corps-a-corps because simply lefort creates some space to give himself room for the riposte, at 16:57 you see an example of how he finishes his fleche when he doesn't need to worry about a riposte and how all his fleche should have been, and in the last touche he tries to evade again but he is unable because lefort makes the adjustment. I mean sure those aren't half his actions but still they are pretty numerous, also i would like to say that i don't have something with the fencers and i was just really surprised that not even one call was made for evasion. Forgot to thank you for your hard work, keep those high level foil bouts coming XD

@@nickoslekkas3336 I'm not disagreeing that Tofalides stepped off the strip a lot, because he definitely did. I'm explaining why the referee wasn't carding it when it happened.
3:30, 14:11 halt was called for passing before he stepped off the strip. No card is warranted.
10:35 halt was called for Lefort's off target riposte before he stepped off the strip. No card is warranted.
16:26 Referee didn't see it as stepping off to avoid a touch, probably saw it as trying to avoid corps-a-corps or being off balance.
18:03 halt was called for Lefort's riposte long before he stepped off the strip. No card is warranted, and the bout is over anyway.

@@TheFoilist i don't want to check every action to see if you are correct but i randomly picked 10:35 and when the riposte is given he is already off the strip with both feet going sideways, i understand that this move is deeply weaved into his fencing style but i still think it is a rule violation and needs to get called. Also i am not aware that halt automatically clears you from getting penalized if you commit a violation afterwards, corps a corps is a good example, ramming someone after halt will mostly result on getting carded and to be honest i seriously doubt that when he hears halt he just darts to the side.
Ps:You can ofc evade sideways when you attempt a contra attack but this isn't the case in those actions, he uses it purely defensively.
