4:13 - just curious - would you call this process "burnishing" ?
I'm a woodworker but I'm starting to work with leather, more and more. Does the word "burnishing" still apply to leather?

You got it! Using a wood slicker or a piece of canvas is a great way to finish edges. A good process is edge bevel > sand > burnish. Tokenole is a great product to try

I've watched a lot (and I mean a lot) of videos on making leather bowls, and yours is the simplest and the most elegant. There are so many possibilities here. Thanks.

Hey Josh, I’ve been subbed for a while. Big fan of the skating, van life, & vlogs. Question: where was that kickflip clip from your older intros taken? Not like exactly where but what state/town? It was beautiful. Thanks ☺️

What is that machine at the end. Looks like an old printing press. Do you have any ideas how to do a stamp without that machine you have. I'm trying to clamp it, not really great results.

      It’s a 1 ton arbor press!
I’ve seen some people use a handle and a hammer.

How long should it be left in the water? And how long left on the bowl to take shape? Awesome video! I want to make one for a friend for her bday.

      Appreciate it!
About 10 min in water and I leave it on the bowl for at least an hour then I remove it and let it dry.
      Hope that helps!

What would you call that belt thing you used to hold the leather down?

Next time you can use the inside of the bowl to get the shape

When you stamp at the end, do you have to get the center of the leather wet again? Or is it still pliable from the original soak?

Any advice on why when I tried this the leather creased? Did I cut to small or a piece or to big?
