The house of Bourbon goes back before the 14th century, so.. the name is French. Whisky may go back to Babylonians, but proper whisky has similar antiquity to it's namesake dynasty... so arguments could be made.. so many.. endlessly, in saecula saeculorum . :)
The only thing that it has in common with the house of Bourbon is the name. Neither the house of Bourbon nor the French had anything to do with it. It originated in Kentucky and may have been named after Bourbon County, Kentucky.
@@Dirtyboxer1 Yeah I love that. I just thought it was funny that they thought it was something super expensive. It is a cool bottle shape which is why they probably got that idea. It is a cool bottle. I acctually bought this to make my infinity whiskey with.

Someone commented they took it seriously, the rest are just light weight pussies. And fuck the guy who said Jefferson can go to hell... What a poor display.
Dwayne Routhier Jr well Jefferson was a slave owning asshole who also order the deaths of millions and millions of innocent native Americans so yeah I'm pretty sure he is in hell God can only forgive so much hate and violence
Damian Martinez Your not smart! Jefferson never owned slaves, he had paid servants. Jefferson was highly against slavery. He was actually against multiculturalism, stating it would fail... Which it has. Also he never ordered anyone to murder native Americans. It was called a relocation act. The natives were going to be moved and fought back... War... Never a kill order. People should really learn history. Not cobbed up bits either. The real history, from a book at a place called a library.
Dwayne Routhier Jr - I know all of these recording's were made for 'Tongue in Cheeck' purposes. Hence I wouldn't necessarily dock the Jefferson guy any points. Made with good fun however I would tread lightly always. We need a George W Bush Bourbon instead of the Jefferson Label. As for an Asides - The U.K. could make a Malt Liquor for the under-developed U.S. Palatte to enjoy. Just for giggles, and to keep the historical Fact's & Figures close in time periof, they could name the Malt Liquor "King George the III"!
I love these episodes. Always makes my day even while it’s a rough day. Also, I enjoy it even more greatly while I’m Baked. Irish people are pure enjoyment especially this channel. Thank you.
Okay, here's how to do it, especially now that it's summer. Get a big glass (in the U.S. it's best in a big Mason jar) and fill it up with ice. Pour in a bottle of alcholic ginger beer, pour a splash (or more) of bourbon in and, if you're fancy af, add a slice of lemon. Now THAT's a summer drink. Sláinte to the amazing Facts team!
Bulleit bourbon is my go to. I drink it neat when I'm eating something savory like red meat, but I like drinking it most when mixed into either a boilermaker or an old fashioned.
I think it needs to be established whether or not these people like whiskey or alcohol in the first place. The way it seems is that they're saying that bourbon tastes bad in comparison to the whiskey they're accustomed to drinking when they may not like any alcohol whatsoever.
Those aren't bad Bourbons, but you didn't really pick the great ones. Knob Creek, Maker's Mark, Buffalo Trace, or Four Roses are much much better choices. Do you pick the middle of the road/crappy ones on purpose?
@@Tombombadillo999 Oh please. Irish whiskey is nothing special. If you buy cheap booze it will taste like cheap booze. The country of origin doesn't matter.
Again, Kentuckian here, currently drinking bourbon, I can't express how good this is. The blonde girl, she can hold her own, maybe she could hold her weight in a Knetucky bar. She's cool.
PinklyWrenis seconded. I thought the blonde handled it thd best. Then again spirits will kick your ass when you are not use to it. But once you get over that alcohol burn everything is delicious.
@@leroyjenkins5711 The French get a largely undeserved bad reputation when it comes to their strengths. I don't mind crediting the French at all for their assistance with our war for independence against the English. They actually have a much better record against the English than the Irish, for example. Even though it took them a hundred years to earn it. 😉
@@tacticaltemplar875 Haha well the French got their rep from world war 2 no doubt. But they do have an incredibly long spreadsheet of succesful wars, conquests etc. I'm just glad they helped us establish ourselves. How did I get so historically involved over a liquor joke? Lol
I'm glad that as time goes along, the alcohol videos keep getting worse and worse for the poor contributors. Except Diane. How the hell she do better with this than the Tequila?
UZworm Out of all the contributors for booze I definitely consider George, Donal, and Dermott to (usually) be the ballers. But who of us hasn't been taken down by bourbon?
BijutsuYoukai I think that alcohol is a opinion thing, and that is because I know people who are obsessed with bourbon while others despise it, as well as you with tequila, which I personally like second to whiskey. I don't like all vodka (except for a few labels that grew up on me) while my dad drinks it as water. Point being that you'll drink what you want to drink, and if you like it I can live with that
Diane + bourbon makes this one of my favorite Facts. videos Dunno why they all reacted like that. I personally find bourbons to be more drinkable than Irish whiskey, for the most part. They're generally sweeter
Because none of them knows how to drink bourbon. They drink it like it's a shot so all they get is the aftertaste. They'd probably have this reaction to irish whisky too...
Just a humble Kentuckian here, wondering why this was the selection of bourbon, it seems like sort of a dirt cheapest to entry-mid level array of bourbon. Each to their own for sure, drink it if you like it, but I really don’t think I would’ve selected any of these to introduce someone to bourbon.:/
@@coreyshier7526 It all depends on your flavor profile. Do you want something robust, something light, something inexpensive or how much are you willing to drop. Also have to understand that bourbon, like all things, have cult followings. For example Americans flipping LOVE Blantons. I am not a fan of it. But I keep it because my buddies are. That being said if you're in one part where its plentiful you can get it for $50-60, where I'm at you only find that price, if you can find it, at the duty free in the airport. Otherwise you are getting it for $85+ for just the small batch. I dont think its worth it. I have also never been a fan of 4 Roses, but some guys will shout blasphemy and note that I like Larceny to talk smack. Frankly I do not care and have converted people to it. Do you like subtle tastes of toast, oak, and honey in your whiskey with a very little burn? Then you'll like Larceny. If you want the burn to kick you in the teeth, then you'll like 4 Roses I mean if you want a nice soft, balanced bottle that you can probably kill in a sitting, and not worry about mixing or drinking straight then if you have $25-35 you can get brands like - Larceny, James E Peppers "1776", Bulliet, or even Gentlemen Jack, Jim Beam single barrel, Buffalo Trace. They are all cheaper if you get them on deals. I once saved a bit over $150 by buying 6 bottles. You cool with spending $45-70 a bottle? You have Jeffersons Reserve (which is actually really good), Angels Envy, Eagle Rare, Makers 46, Michters, Weller, 1792, and High West. You want to drop $70-100+ on bottles then you are going into your small batches, single barrels, cask strengths, special blends, or special storages- like Jefferson Reserve has one batch where the whisky is stored out at sea to age- or aged blends, and other fancy stuff. You can also get the multi grain or the covetted 4 grain if you feel adventurous. So we all know that the mash has to be 51% corn to be a bourbon. So Rye is to whisky as Hops is to beer. That earthy flavor thats the Rye. Wheat is the light sweet honey oaky flavor. Barley is your bready flavor. Personally I gravitate more towards the Wheaty stuff because I am the sweet sensitive type. So please please please see what you like and enjoy. I dig the mini battle of JD NOT being bourbon because its Tennessee vs Kentucky, but G-dammit its American.
Most Americans would react the same way. I wanna see what true whiskey drinkers think of bourbon. Respect to the MTV hat dude and blonde chick. They're cool and understand how good bourbon is. The rest are overly dramatic princesses.
you might not hate all bourbon, there are actually probably a few high rye bourbons youd like. though getting some of them may not be easy. side note rye whiskey and canadian rye are very different. canadian rye is low rye content(usually/traditionally) where as american rye is 51% rye at least. also alot of the american 100% rye whiskeys are really from canada. but yeah rye whiskey is lovely stuff.

Honestly, I hope we get an extended version of this one. So damned good.
I didn't think it was possible but Drunk Diane is even more adorable than Regular Diane.
I love these episodes. Always makes my day even while it’s a rough day. Also, I enjoy it even more greatly while I’m Baked. Irish people are pure enjoyment especially this channel. Thank you.
Is it me or was Diane the least bothered of all of them? OG status
The blonde is a trooper of note.
LOL, her face when Lolsy says "a little bit!" ... "it is a little!" 🤣
The return of Diane The Dragon :D
Everyone else Suffering. Diane? "Oh this is lovely" ...I love you girl xD
yugoxgc is she the redhead?
I think Diane's the blonde woman.
I don't know how many times I've watched this video, but it never fails to put an enormous smile on my face. Thank you, Facts.
George and Diane went first!!! So THAT'S why George turned into Louis C.K. on Snapchat saying "So much bourbon! So much bourbon!" LMFAO
Phillip Ech
Good point.
One of the women even stated the she doesn't drink spirits. So, what was the point.
Why Irish? Irish whiskey blows. Should have used a few Scotsmen.
BadgerBJJ it’s a Irish channel
It seems like theyre all afraid of alcohol like a cat scared of water. They only ever complain
Those aren't bad Bourbons, but you didn't really pick the great ones. Knob Creek, Maker's Mark, Buffalo Trace, or Four Roses are much much better choices. Do you pick the middle of the road/crappy ones on purpose?
Sarah Jane also blantons, eagle rare,Elijah Craig
Sarah Jane the difference is that mid level irish whiskey is actually tasty and drinkable compared to the american gutrot.
@@Tombombadillo999 Oh please. Irish whiskey is nothing special. If you buy cheap booze it will taste like cheap booze. The country of origin doesn't matter.
There are no bad Bourbons, only better bourbons 😉
Seems like ppl are sending in the non good stuff. But that canada one was ruff to watch fuckin clam juice wtf 😂😂
0:57 So you thought HALF A GLASS would be an appropriate pour for a tasting?!
to make them dumb, they always got a plan!
That is indeed the correct pour for a proper tasting.
-_-
🤣
Thats how I first tasted whiskey. I hated the first sip but enjoyed the drink by the last one.
Diane is such a cutie, but I didn’t realize what a drinker she is.
"There's a little man in the bottle" in the cutest most stereotypical Irish accent I've ever heard
Not sure why but I love watching Irish people get drunk!!
' The only spirit I need is the spirit of Jesus Christ' 😂😂😂
Take it elsewhere.
Catraoine Kelly are you being serious or are you mocking God??
@@fbnflaviusbroadcastingnetw6786 have you even watched the video?
😂😂😂😂😂
@@fbnflaviusbroadcastingnetw6786 Yes. Who cares?
Just goes to show you that only the hardest Europeans came to the New World. Then they invented bourbon.
Yeah, that's why the French had to bail you out against the British And these mofos drink wine for a living lmao
Leroy Jenkins Is that what Europeans tell themselves?
@@jaydom8264 Wouldn't know. All I know is History kid. Without the French, No USA.
Lol
Is it me, or did the blonde become 100x hotter after seeing her handle that bourbon like a pro?
Its just you, but she is hot.
Jacket Leather Guy would have loved them! Total appreciation!
"There's a little man trapped in the bottle!"
'I'd go with the first one, the third one, the second one and the fourth one'. Haha
I'm glad that as time goes along, the alcohol videos keep getting worse and worse for the poor contributors.
Except Diane. How the hell she do better with this than the Tequila?
Because bourbon is far better than tequila, that's how. I half-vomit trying to drink a single Tequila shot but can handle bourbon just fine.
This is true, but I figured George would be right for a novice bourbon drinker.
UZworm
Out of all the contributors for booze I definitely consider George, Donal, and Dermott to (usually) be the ballers.
Point being that you'll drink what you want to drink, and if you like it I can live with that
Quite possibly one of TH-cam’s best vid
Diane + bourbon makes this one of my favorite Facts. videos
Dunno why they all reacted like that.
As a fellow Kentuckian down the road from Jim Beam and Jack Daniel's, I had to like that comment.
So which brand would you suggest?
@@coreyshier7526 I'm a 4Roses gal or Jack Daniels, many good memories there. Jack with Coke is amazing.
@Moo Butt Butt I realized thats as soon as I replied
My apologies for my blonde moment!
If you want the burn to kick you in the teeth, then you'll like 4 Roses
I mean if you want a nice soft, balanced bottle that you can probably kill in a sitting, and not worry about mixing or drinking straight then if you have $25-35 you can get brands like - Larceny, James E Peppers "1776", Bulliet, or even Gentlemen Jack, Jim Beam single barrel, Buffalo Trace.
I feel immediately better. Do I have a problem? 😂😂😂
😆
The blonde lady and the guy with the hat, honestly, props to them. They can appreciate our drinks.
The way the blonde said "There's a man stuck in the bottle" reminded me of Alice in wonderland :)
Should be titled "Irish hipsters have there first drink!"
Maple Mike even canada gets it, my Kentuckian heritage is insulted.
Lonota Lonota bruh, Canadians know alcohol just as well as we do, our neighbors to the north are no stranger to a good spirit
Hahaha couldn't have put it better myself!!! What a bunch if pansies!!!
well there is a reason you americans come here to buy our beer........
bmxriderforlife1234 I want to hate this but it's not false, you have amazing beer...
"holy majooooley"
Eddy Kim came looking for this comment. Was not dissatisfied
What the red heads name?
This is my far my favorite channel🍻🥃
Most Americans would react the same way. I wanna see what true whiskey drinkers think of bourbon.
Respect to the MTV hat dude and blonde chick. They're cool and understand how good bourbon is. The rest are overly dramatic princesses.
whiskey vault. you have the sommelier and the mooch. hilarious but also they do get into the whiskey(usually) and lots of comparisons.
Warrior I like bourbon more than whiskey. But both are great.
bourbon is whiskey. its just a type of whiskey like scotch is a type of whiskey and rye is a type of whiskey or canadian rye is another type.
I hate bourbon, but I found 100% Rye whiskey and fell in love with it
you might not hate all bourbon, there are actually probably a few high rye bourbons youd like. though getting some of them may not be easy.
side note rye whiskey and canadian rye are very different. canadian rye is low rye content(usually/traditionally) where as american rye is 51% rye at least. also alot of the american 100% rye whiskeys are really from canada.
but yeah rye whiskey is lovely stuff.
