I mean the statements kind of do make sense despite that inconsistency. Brave Bird would require breeding for it, which is too much for the regular main game. Roost is easier to acquire and recovery is still useful for the regular game.

Da faq is Absol doin here, its trash, replace it with like, Exploud Boomburst(Level 58/1) or Hyper Voice(Level 47) Shadow Ball(TM30:Mount Pyre) Earthquake(TM26:Seafloor Cavern) Flamethrower(TM35:Victroy Road) or Fire Blast(Lilycove Department Store)
actually grass type of breloom is bad since it doesnt have a single physical grass move in his learn set till it's 44 and has only 60 sp atk. and his best accurate fighting move is sky uppercut which still has 90%, while hariyama has close combat, but well it's vanilla playthroughs so it really is up to preferences since pretty much anything can work. but i wouldnt suggest breloom to be used against glacia for obvious reasons :D
The reason why they added a Fighting type in the first place was to beat Norman's gym. Retaliate could one shot breloom. And like they say in the video, hariyama can tank retaliate.
Going through ORAS I used Pokemon I'd never used before, like Masquerain. Ended up 1v1 vs Steven, Masquerain v Mega Metagross and he was able to tank a Giga Impact after Intimidate and finish him off. It's fun playing with Pokemon you'd never think to use.
Some Random Guy Nice! I didn't know that Slaking could learn a Ghost type move and I think that Brick Break on Hariyama could be replaced with a stronger Fighting type move like Vital Throw (unless there is a specific reason you chose Brick Break.) Really nice team! Also, what does RSE mean?
this team sucks though it'll work if it's just ingame story against gyms and elite 4 but in ADV, VGC and other tournaments yeah this team is pretty bad
Totally unrelated but... I accidentally one shot Deoxys with Dragon Ascent from Mega Rayquaza because I didn't take a split second to consider what a 180 base attacker using a 120 power S.T.A.B. attack could do to a 50 base defense. R.I.P.
Josh Grooman Not if Rain Dance is up and you put Rain Dance on Swampert which will only help taking fire types attacks and doing more Water damage which is nowhere near worth wasting a turn for more damage since this isn't a competetive team
Thunder has bad accuracy. Though in the old game I did teach my Manectric Rain Dance to make Thunder never miss. He obviously loved the setup cause in Emerald; at the end game area where your Pokémon makes the move choice; he always used RD first and made me so proud.
Agreed, Breloom is a much better and easier Pokemon to get, as you can find Shroomish in the Petalburg Woods Breloom helps against Roxxane as a Shroomish Wattsons Magneton Norman Wallace/Juan if in Emerald Sidney Glacia Steven/Wallace in Emerald And the post game Steven fight in Emerald Better than Hariyama Edit: Also helps against your rival's Wailmer line, Wally's Delcatty and Team Aquas and Magmas Dark types And Team Aquas water types
An updated comment from when I was just starting out a year ago: I can attest to this being a great strategy for taking on Hoenn. My only change would be to whoever you can catch that ISN'T Absol. Not because it's bad, but because: A. It's too rare. 2. It's a glass cannon, even if you train yours up to the near-60's like I did Z. Its mega stone is hard to find. And no disrespect to Mystic, but he didn't really say just how to get the moves needed for his plan to work. If you want my advice on the matter, I suggest going out into the desert of Route 111, after getting the Go-goggles, and grabbing either a Cacnea, Baltoy or Trapinch. You'd be surprised on how well the latter can be in certain situations. As for my overall team, it was: 1. Moana the Swampert 2. Ishizu the Gardevoir 3. Andre the Hariyama (short for Andre the Giant) 4. Alucard the Crobat 5. Elekta the Manectric 6. Mia the Flygon (short for Mia Vodello, a nod to the underrated gem Psychonauts)
my team was 1. MudShooter the swampert 2. Rara the Gardevoir 3. Knuckles the Hariyama 4. Speedy the Crobat 5. Elle the Manectric 6. Aaria the Absol i understand its a glass canon, but when i can get that nice hit, it shreds and i switch to mudshooter.
Magic Bounce is really op though, well my team did not start with mudkip but was 1. Repthorn the Sceptile 2. Regalia the Gardevoir 3. Scylla the Gyarados 4. Dracul the Crobat 5. Zipzip the Banette 6. Luna the Absol The only reason i started with treecko is bcuz i dislike having dragons in my team :D now you will say the mega evolution is dragon but you dont constantly have it evolved
I hve used absol everytime I can it's my fav Pokemon and it was a good Pokemon in gen3 if you know how to use it correctly and in later gen it became better with mega evo ,super luck and proper physical special split
Absol is actually really solid. I personally never used it much, but I wish I had. Taunt can prevent Phoebe's Ghosts from trying to Curse you or stalling with Protect, Swords Dance + Shadow Ball (in RSE) or Night Slash (ORAS) will shred the rest of her team, and Psycho Cut (ORAS) or Iron Tail (RSE) can be useful.
hey, i didn’t use Absol because it was late-game (fortree city). I suggest getting Zigzagoon early game once you get Poké Balls and keep it instead of Absol, or send Absol from another game early on, but that requires bank and not everyone have bank. Zigzagoon is amazing for being an HM Buddy / Slave, so the move set would be Rock Smash, Cut, Surf, and Strength. Waterfall should be on Swampert, and Dive can be on Swampert temporarily instead of Rain Dance as in Lilycove, you have access to the Move Deleter. There, the HMs are all done. Flash can also be on Manectric instead of Double Team for a while in the Victory Road as it’s pretty dark. Dig can be on Hariyama and keep switching with Earthquake every time you need to escape a cave. Teleport is VERY useful on Gardevoir until you get Fly as you can teleport to the most recent Pokémon Center you have gone to as you don’t get Shadow Ball until you get access to Mauville and Surf so Teleport instead of Shadow Ball would be great for a while until Steven gives you fly.
sableye is a good hm slave too, with rock smash, cut, flash, and dig, though it is less useful on a team than linoone. I like keeping surf, dive, waterfall, and strength on an azumarill so the two pokemon cover all the hm's one would need (use eon flute instead of fly).
Reagan Stock Yeah I realized that. On my most recent try on AS I’ve tried using Absol and replacing my Linoone, and it was better. Though I couldn’t get strength, cut, and rock smash, Absol is pretty useful and is now one of the Pokémon I use more frequently now that it has caught up with my team. Though it’s the 2nd weakest in terms of levels, i use it more than my higher level Pokémon since it’s kinda ez when you use overlevelled Pokémon
Reagan Stock when I had absol I had his hidden ability and the item that helps u crit and when u use either night slash or the normal type version of night slash u always crit it’s op af in the story
My most favorite team for Hoenn that I used the most was Swampert, Gardevior, Aagron, Camerupt, and Linoone for most of the game just so that I could get pickup items until I got Raquaza. (Or the respective legendary in the game I was playing
If any of you don't like Hariyama, try Breloom, as the grass type is really good on this team. You could try moves like: - Mach Punch - Bullet Seed/Seed Bomb - Rock Tomb/Rock Slide - Force Palm - Spore Although these moves mainly benefit from Breloom's Hidden Ability (Technician), they still work really well in a playthrough.
or you could go for a more cancerous moveset with moves like -spore -drain punch -substitute -leech seed along with toxic orb poison heal if you want to do that
Glenn Rhee For competitive play, that’s a horrible decision. He/She has the right to say that’s not the way to make a team because it’s not. If you want a team that is good against everything, you won’t need pokemon that look cool, but pokemon that have a good move pool, are good against gyms, rivals, grunts, team leaders, elite four, and the champion.
and everyone seems to forget, you don't get the Eon Flute until after Groudon/Kyogre. So unless you wanna travel back and forth until then, use a Flying Pokemon.
A breloom is an amazing idea It's fast, strong Grass and fighting type Moves, Giga drain. Upper cut. ( which will help when if the opponent has used fly). Mach punch. And some other move which will provide type coverage. It can be useful against steven. Walace. And sydney from the elite 4 It can be used for catching many pokemon.
with expert ability (50% more dmg to 0-60 dmg base atack) mach punh base 40 (60) bullet seed 25 (37.5 per atack) rock tomb 60 (90) and idk (force palm 60 (90) or if u prefer power-up punch 40 (60) +1 atack buff per use )
When I played Emerald, my team consisted of the following: Swampert Breloom Swellow Manetric Linoone Camerupt I plan on getting Alpha Sapphire somewhen so I might incorporate a Gardevoir in place of Linoone and a Crobat in place of Swellow considering Fairy types are a thing. Otherwise, it'll be the same.
Oshawott TV Crobat is available in gen 3. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the games, but only in FR/LG that you can't evolve Golbat until you get the national pokedex, however Crobat is in the hoenn dex.
Great video man! You don't really actually need a flyer in this game thanks to Eon flute though! Sure it make be a lot quicker to just use fly, but I prefer riding on Latios just for the simple fact it looks great, and imo, it's a bit more fun that way! But! If you don't necessarily want to wait through all that animation, flying is totally the way to go.
totally! it's only recommended because you don't get the eon flute towards the very late game. Going from city to city can be annoying as well because of the Evil Teams quests.
The problem with salamance is you can't get him till you have all the badges then you have to grind him from a bagon to a salamance at which point he is only helping you with the elite four two of which he is vulnerable to ice and dragon elite four members
@@hoseaosborn7271 That's true, but it's still better than crobat. Use crobat up until you get Bagon and train it with the xp share or switch train for more xp. It will hit harder with a better moveset and typing. Just don't use it for Glacia and you're fine.
@@Psycho_Raged honestly I agree I love salemance really I love dragons although crobat I have a soft spot for it's my favorite flying type I usually have in most runs in Pokemon games
@@TheShiningEnergy true but honestly I never like altaria much it learns dragon dance but all of it's move pool is special atack altaria is a great tank but not my favorite dragon I prefer crobat
I feel going with Aagron over Absol is a bit better. Aagron can do enough of what Absol is good for and is accessible MUCH EARLIER, before the second gym earlier! Also, steel is the strongest type in the game. And it will add some more bulk to the term and bulk is what Aagron excels in, ESPECIALLY if you mega evolve it.
This team is gonna suck but here it goes: Blaziken Gardevoir Sharpedo Manectric Breloom Flygon Hope I didn't do terrible. I'm replaying the games with a legit team this time cause the first time I played this game I just put pokemon with moves I thought were OP (they weren't) on my team.
The team I would use for ORAS. -Sceptile -Camerupt -Sharpedo -Cosplay Pikachu Rockstar (I put this because it's cute and has access to Meteor Mash) -Crobat Linoone (HM Slave)
Also, why not run Psycho Cut on Absol? It learns it by level up and can deal with all of the evil teams Poison types, especially Archie and Maxie's Crobat and Maxie's Weezing and Archie's Muk. And also, maybe run Shadow Claw for some extra converage against Phoebe, as like Night Slash, it raises critical hit chances. Man, the moveset I run with Absol just seems to work...
Nothing wrong with it. I just wanted more coverage with aerial ace being able to cover bug types and fighting types. Also, I feel Gardevoir pretty much does that job psychic is powerful enough to OHKO most of the poison types and for Crobat Mega Manectric outspeeds.
+MysticUmbreon your wrong about mudkip torchic is way better he beats the first gym if you elvolve him with double kick can do well vs the second gym with peck his fighting moves help vs watson. he resists vs flanery destroys vs norman he destroys the evil teams mighteyana and one shots archie sharpedo not only that he destroys sydney destroys glacia and destroys steven
+Zack Harris There is one problem with that. one of Norman's Slakings has Extrasensory. Also, why do I need to evolve my starter just so I can beat the first gym when I can do it right off the bat with Mudkip. Also, Marshtomp is Water/Ground, which means it's ammune to all of Wattson's Pokemon, and also doubles as part HM slave, being able to Surf and Waterfall, also not quite sure, but I think Dive too...
If you were to get a Gallade I wouldn't want you to get a Hariyama since two fighting types wouldn't be necessary, if you want Gallade to learn a decent fighting type move, Low Sweep is available at Mauville City's PokeMort for 10000 Pokedollars, or you can trade with a friend who has X and Y, and teach him Low Sweep there for free.
+MysticUmbreon I like the team you made, but I won't use it due to the fact that it's tradition for me and for many others to have a Fire, Water and Grass Type on the team. And I prefer Sceptile as my starter, since there are no good Grass Types other than him. (Cacturne and Shiftry have too many weaknesses, and I just don't like Ludicolo.) Plus Sceptile has either a favorable, or neutral type advantage against the first three gyms, and when I get to Flannery, I can always get my OP Huge Power Azumarill. My dream team is Sceptile, Gallade, Crobat or Skarmory, Manectric, Azumarill, and Camerupt, which you can all get before the fifth gym.
+C2 Luiz that's a pretty good team but question? Why azumarill, doesn't have the best stats and grass types have so many weaknesses. Sceptile has 5 and when he mega evolves, he has 6! Even though sceptile is really cool, he just has weaknesses
you should do a BEST TEAM FOR HOENN but for the original games as well. just as Johto's covered both original and remakes. Also for Kanto make for the original games, although TM's and movepools arent the best ones on gen 1 but many people still play them (i did with RED 3 months ago, and GOLD 2 months ago). ......just saying. Love your reviews, teams and explanations.
It was the third pokemon that appeared to me on route 104. But I know what you're saying, because in the GBA's Ruby I just catch mine after beat the Elite 4, and I spent a whole day (no joke, morning to night).
Just wanna share my favorite team in Hoenn. Sceptile (my fav starter pokemon) Azumarill (tank) Donphan (anti-evasiveness and immune to electricity) Metagross (IDK but his stats are insane) Salamence (hey you need a strong flying type and also it has dragon dance) Ninetales (great fire type plus it has flash fire)
Clorox Bleach GET OUT OF HERE YOU NEED DROUGHT ON NINETALES just-because flash fire is the worst ability to ever exists drought makes your fire type moves more stronger and if you have solar beam on ninetales it wont take 2 turns *cough* *cough* swampert is better it just.
Sceptile(dragon claw, energy ball, earthquake, brick break) Gardevoire(moonblast, psychic, calm mind, shadow ball) Crobat(acrobatics, cross poison,x-scissor,steel wing) Gyarados(waterfall, earthquake, flamethrower, ice fang) Absol(night slash, psycho cut, rock smash, thunderbolt) Banette(psychic, sucker punch, phantom force, shadow claw) Works wonders for me, and seriously the only type i dont have in this team is rock and normal(?)
Thanks so much for your videos. I kinda lost the interest in Pokémon a few years ago and never managed to finish ORAS and X/Y. But I definitely will now, and im so hyped for Sword and Shield. The only Pokémon in this list im not eager to use is Hariyama, but it's a good choice
Well if you have been watching Mystic, Crobat is certainly one of his favorite Flying types, and tbh Crobat is quite a good Pokémon without Mega Evolving. Another note is birds like Crobat, Taillow, etc are early on the game so by the time you have reached Fallarbor they're already very strong Pokémon.
This is the team I’m using for my current play through of OR: 1. Swampert with Ice Beam, Hammer Arm, Waterfall, and Earthquake 2. Roserade with Toxic spikes, shadow ball, giga drain, and stun spore 3. Gallade with psychic, psycho cut, confusion, and double team 4. Manectric with discharge, bite, volt switch, and overheat 5. Crobat with X-Scissor, Fly, Confuse Ray, and Venoshock 6. Lairon with Strength, Iron Defense, Rock Slide, and Iron Tail Team is definitely a work in progress, and Lairon is one level away from evolving. Really gotta fix up Gallade’s moves too.
From my first Alpha Sapphire game clear: Swampert - Rock Slide, Surf, Earthquake, Waterfall Camerupt - Flamethrower, Amnesia, Earth Power, Eruption Breloom - Seed Bomb, Strength(!), Stun Spore, Sky Uppercut Metagross (the shiny event one) - Pursuit, Iron Head, Zen Headbutt, Hammer Arm Froslass - Shadow Ball, Ice Beam, Hidden Power (Bug), Hail Absol - Night Slash, X-Scissor, Psycho Cut, Swords Dance Hardly ideal, in hindsight, but I had great fun.
I recently replayed Emerald and my team was: Blaziken, Absol, Walrein, Flygon, Breloom, and Gardevoir I had Thunderbolt on Absol and Gardevoir for electric coverage and it worked great
Do you really wanna evolve a level 3-10 pokemon AFTER you beated the Groudon/Kyogre? Your team level average is supposed to around 45. Imagine how time consuming for you leveling up zorua to level 45 and evolve it.
I go for Fire starters in pretty much every generation, it's especially useful in Gen 3 because you can catch Wingull right at the beginning for a water type and it is very bulky and powerful once it evolves, just teach it Surf and you're all set basically.
Used to hate it for their abundance in caves but when I got good at games I realised it had quad resistance to Grass, Bug, and Fighting (and that's only quad) :D
Josh X61104 SIMILAR, it depends on which starter I choose. Torchic: Blaziken Flygon Aggron Gardevoir Manectric Sharpedo Treeko: Sceptile Camerupt Walrein Metagross Breloom Dusknoir Mudkip: Swampert Ninetales Gallade Manectric Banette Aggron Yes, I know my dream teams are horrible.
I prefer Camerupt instead of Ninetails because of the better moves. And I'm excited that you choose Swampert. Though instead of Swellow I prefer Salamence.
Swampert Earthquake Waterfall/Hammer arm Icebeam Rain Dance/Surf Gardevoir Moonblast Psychic Focus Blast/Calm mind ShadowBall Hariyama Bulk Up Close combat Stone edge/Knock off Earth quake Crobat Fly Roost Cross Poison Steel Wing/ X Scissor Manetric Thunderbolt Flamethrower Double Team Volt Switch Absol X-Scissor Night Slash Flamethrower Aerial Ace
You really would go with Double team instead of Charge beam, Snarl, hyper beam or hidden power(hidden power is not always good but has potential at least)? bruh
I haven't played ORAS, but I've played RSE. Here was my most recent Ruby team, that will also prove to be useful in ORAS: Magnezone: Thunderbolt, Flash Cannon, Lock-On, Thunder Vileplume: Energy Ball, Dazzling Gleam, Sludge Bomb, Stun Spore Milotic: Surf, Ice Beam, Dragon Pulse, Mirror Coat Donphan: Rock Slide, Earthquake, Thunder Fang, Sandstorm Mega Salamence: Dragon Claw, Crunch, Double-Edge, Iron Tail Blaziken: Flamethrower, Bulk Up, Blaze Kick, Sky Uppercut
Mat Sepulveda How so? I don't find the paralysis from Zap Cannon all that helpful because it really only helps against legendaries. It really doesn't do much more damage than Thunderbolt does (5 more damage), and if I really needed the paralysis, I could always teach it Thunder Wave which IMO is more reliable than Zap Cannon for paralysis. Thunder does more damage than Zap Cannon and has more PP. Thus, I prefer Thunder to Zap Cannon.
My current team for Omega Ruby is Sceptile Camerupt Sharpedo Manectric Hariyama Swellow I honestly recommend this so highly. I’ve been able to one shot nearly every single gym with this team, although I did a lot of grinding so it may have been the level difference, but it’s so versatile and there isn’t a single member that’s fallen behind in usefulness for me.
you call that a team, real men add a tropius, walrein or ludicolo to the team. My G-squad: Swampert, Dusclops, Tropius, Shiny Linone, Gallade, and Claydol.
You don't have to use only "badass" Pokemon its all about variaty, Tropuis and Linone would be the last pokemon almost anyone would think about on a team.
There is no bad team, you can make anything work if you want. For crying out loud, I used Hypno on one of my recent teams. HYPNO. Underrated pokemon, great movepool. I called him Pennywise.
From a recent play through I used a Magnemite by spreading honey where you found the Manetric, and despite coming to my team about, ten levels lower, it laid waste onto everything in the region, probably because I was playing Alpha Sapphire, but I understand why you chose Manetric because it is better in Omega Ruby because of the Fire Types, it can Mega Evolve, and you do not have to wait til Wallace to fully evolve it.
Time to trigger everyone with the power of research ●Swampert: the only thing you should worry about is your rival Sceptile. It DESTROYS the First Gym, 3rd Gym, 4th Gym, It will have a chance to destroy the 6th Gym but only if you taught it Ice Type attacks, 7th Gym sense it has rock types, Sidney and Glacia if taught Hammer Arm, Drake if you have Ice Type moves and Steven. It also will help you with team Magma if you're playing Omega Ruby (It's the Best starter to choose). It's Mega Form's ability (Swift Swim) is amazing, Having it's speed boosted in the rain helps you out speed stuff and causes it's stab water moves get a boost ●Blaziken: you have to worry about Team Aqua, Magma, Water Gym, the Flying Gym and Rock Type Gym (before you evolve torchic),the 7th Gym, and finally the 8th Gym (better have Omega Ruby if you have Blaziken). However it destroys the First gym (if its a Combusken) 5th Gym, Sidney, Glacia, and Steven. It's Speed Boost from it's Mega Form is REALLY helps to out speed stuff ●Sceptile: You have to worry about the 4th Gym, 6th Gym, Team Magma, Glacia, Drake (If Mega Evolved) and Steven. It DESTROYS the First Gym, 7th Gym, 8th Gym, Team Aqua, and Drake (if taught Dragon type moves). It's Mega Ability (Lightning Rod) isn't very good because it resists electric types anyway (especially its Mega)
UB-06 Austin Good choices, man. As for meself, I prefer a slightly different approach than Mystic, though I can definitely see why he came to these conclusions: 1. Swampert (Admittedly, this guy I did agree 100% on this, as he's perhaps objectively the most potent against Hoenn) 2. Gardevoir (I was always a fan of this lovely lady of Hoenn, so I had to put her on!) 3. Crobat (Hands down one of the best flying types in the caves, no question) 4. Linoone (Albeit temporarily, as I kinda need him for at least MOST of my journey), and replacing with Banette as soon as possible 5. Flygon (Sure, evolving it can be a pain in the ass at first, but once you get past the 26 level mark, it's relatively easy, especially with Super Training and Pokemon-Amie being a thing) 6. Aggron
Manetric and Camerupt is a hard decision, but I would go with manetric. Electric types could really help in a lot of gyms. (Flying, Water, Ice, Steel, Etc.)
My team was and always will be. Swampert Gardevoir Exploud Vileplume Absol And ibalways trade iver a growlithe egg... cuz thats my favorite pikemon and his name is Rallo...
I personally think vilpix to ninetales is also a good suggestion not because of its typing but can be obtained as it levels up or from tm. Ninetales in this gen can learn hypnosis for staling flamethrower for Stab n high accuracy calm mind to boost his/her sp def even more n with its special attack being very high as well is can make it quite the tank, lastly the last move for ninetales should be shadow ball. Shadow ball have very good accuracy n hits very hard with ninetales base stat being 125(not too sure but it is pretty high) n shadow ball having a base stat of 80 with the chance to decrease your opponents sp def makes it a good set up Pokémon to stop your opponents in their tracks
"You don't need brave bird, it's not like a competitive team or anything"
"Next we recommend roost for recovery"
Lmao
I mean the statements kind of do make sense despite that inconsistency. Brave Bird would require breeding for it, which is too much for the regular main game. Roost is easier to acquire and recovery is still useful for the regular game.
But why would you need recovery on a pokemon when you can buy items, they are just so much better than roost
+Luc Wehrens for those moments just in case you run low or run out and don't realize it. It happens even to the best of us lol.
+Luc Wehrens or if one battle drags on long enough to run out of stuff too. It probably doesn't happen in ORAS, but older games, yeah.

PhantumpFil I use double team just in case I need to make them miss that's about it
well, it does work, but more useful for nuzlockes/competitive
I prefer strength because I'm not a fan of HM slaves
PhantumpFil And Bulk Up on Hariyama.
Actually I would suggest replacing Hariyama with Breloom, yes it has way less bulk, but hit a bit harder and is faster, plus the grass type isn’t bad
actually grass type of breloom is bad since it doesnt have a single physical grass move in his learn set till it's 44 and has only 60 sp atk. and his best accurate fighting move is sky uppercut which still has 90%, while hariyama has close combat, but well it's vanilla playthroughs so it really is up to preferences since pretty much anything can work. but i wouldnt suggest breloom to be used against glacia for obvious reasons :D
The reason why they added a Fighting type in the first place was to beat Norman's gym. Retaliate could one shot breloom. And like they say in the video, hariyama can tank retaliate.
@@m.hisyam982 my hariyama was a beast.
It survived 3 retaliates from slaking then bashed their spines.
My hariyama was like it only had to take 1 retaliate because I had trained it but still it berely scrached him
but breloom can get sleep powder/spore completely negating the need to tank a retaliate if you outspeed
I love doing that too! I’ve been liking Whiscash in general more because I tried it out during a playthrough
I'm disappointed that he pushed the originals aside just because they're not good enough. I grew up playing Ruby.

Tomm.Catt.99 RSE means Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald. Also I didn't make this Team Mystic Umbreon did.
Tomm.Catt.99 slaking sucks though that truant ability cripples his high stats if the enemy has protect slaking is practically useless
this team sucks though it'll work if it's just ingame story against gyms and elite 4 but in ADV, VGC and other tournaments yeah this team is pretty bad
Totally unrelated but... I accidentally one shot Deoxys with Dragon Ascent from Mega Rayquaza because I didn't take a split second to consider what a 180 base attacker using a 120 power S.T.A.B. attack could do to a 50 base defense. R.I.P.
Bucky Barnea i panicked and used earthquake on a shiny heatran
dat sucks.
Feels bad man
I got swept by Deoxys...
And that's why we always save before going for legendaries

Tatarawr OH NO ITS THE SQURTILE SQUAD

durge12 yea thunderbolt is a lot better even though it's less powerfull
Josh Grooman Not if Rain Dance is up and you put Rain Dance on Swampert which will only help taking fire types attacks and doing more Water damage which is nowhere near worth wasting a turn for more damage since this isn't a competetive team
Quackasaurus 1 It's also called no one on this team has swift swim
Thunder has bad accuracy. Though in the old game I did teach my Manectric Rain Dance to make Thunder never miss. He obviously loved the setup cause in Emerald; at the end game area where your Pokémon makes the move choice; he always used RD first and made me so proud.

Instead of Hariyama it should be breloom.
hmmm good idea but why. im interested to know
Agreed, Breloom is a much better and easier Pokemon to get, as you can find Shroomish in the Petalburg Woods
Breloom helps against
Roxxane as a Shroomish
Wattsons Magneton
Norman
Wallace/Juan if in Emerald
Sidney
Glacia
Steven/Wallace in Emerald
And the post game Steven fight in Emerald
Better than Hariyama
Edit: Also helps against your rival's Wailmer line, Wally's Delcatty and Team Aquas and Magmas Dark types
And Team Aquas water types
People's Republic of Taiwan maybe edit in the moveset?
Gilly136
Power up-punch (it’s a decent move)
Giga drain (just cause)
Spore (make enemies go to sleep)
(Insert a strong coverage move here)
Z For Short thanks. Maybe sky uppercut because giga drain wont be benifited by power up punch
Edit: maybe stone edge for coverage?
An updated comment from when I was just starting out a year ago: I can attest to this being a great strategy for taking on Hoenn. My only change would be to whoever you can catch that ISN'T Absol. Not because it's bad, but because:
A. It's too rare.
2. It's a glass cannon, even if you train yours up to the near-60's like I did
As for my overall team, it was:
1. Moana the Swampert
2. Ishizu the Gardevoir
3. Andre the Hariyama (short for Andre the Giant)
4. Alucard the Crobat
5. Elekta the Manectric
6. Mia the Flygon (short for Mia Vodello, a nod to the underrated gem Psychonauts)
my team was
1. MudShooter the swampert
2. Rara the Gardevoir
3. Knuckles the Hariyama
4. Speedy the Crobat
5. Elle the Manectric
6. Aaria the Absol
i understand its a glass canon, but when i can get that nice hit, it shreds and i switch to mudshooter.
Magic Bounce is really op though, well my team did not start with mudkip but was
1. Repthorn the Sceptile
2. Regalia the Gardevoir
3. Scylla the Gyarados
4. Dracul the Crobat
5. Zipzip the Banette
6. Luna the Absol
The only reason i started with treecko is bcuz i dislike having dragons in my team :D now you will say the mega evolution is dragon but you dont constantly have it evolved
I love Flygon! And Absol!

hey, i didn’t use Absol because it was late-game (fortree city).
Alex Mao
oh that is true, when I finished the game my 1st time and I got Eon Flute, I kept using the Flute because it was cooler imo.
Reagan Stock
Yeah I realized that.
I decided on flygon
My most favorite team for Hoenn that I used the most was Swampert, Gardevior, Aagron, Camerupt, and Linoone for most of the game just so that I could get pickup items until I got Raquaza. (Or the respective legendary in the game I was playing
If any of you don't like Hariyama, try Breloom, as the grass type is really good on this team.
You could try moves like:
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed/Seed Bomb
- Rock Tomb/Rock Slide
- Force Palm
- Spore
Although these moves mainly benefit from Breloom's Hidden Ability (Technician), they still work really well in a playthrough.
or you could go for a more cancerous moveset with moves like
-spore
-drain punch
-substitute
-leech seed
along with toxic orb poison heal if you want to do that
I just pick pokemon that look cool
me 2
Seriously? That's not how you pick a team.
Who are you to say how to make a team chill its just pokemon.
Domi Nik amen
Glenn Rhee For competitive play, that’s a horrible decision. He/She has the right to say that’s not the way to make a team because it’s not. If you want a team that is good against everything, you won’t need pokemon that look cool, but pokemon that have a good move pool, are good against gyms, rivals, grunts, team leaders, elite four, and the champion.
Omg you picked mudkip!!! I love him no one does. I used one in alpha sapphire and rekt the whole game thank you!
Konny SaladsHD heard you liek mudkipz
I agree with you but I didn’t pick Mudkip in my as playthrough because I knew I had to catch kyoger
Mud kip mud kip mud kip
Mud kip mud kip mud kip
Konny SaladsHD same
Blaziken is still better
Everyone seems to forget, the Eon Flute completely negates the need for HM Fly.
Arceus Vestal nope I didn’t forget. I just posted a similar comment and then I found your comment
and everyone seems to forget, you don't get the Eon Flute until after Groudon/Kyogre. So unless you wanna travel back and forth until then, use a Flying Pokemon.
But hm fly is quicker
And the eon flute is post game
yup thus the reason i use acrobatics on my crobat and only used fly to catch registeel
It's SO late game though
My personal team in pkmn Emerald : Sceptile (my fav pkmn of all time) , Aggron , Crobat , Exploud , Camerupt aaaaaaand Linoone for the MN moves x)
Federico Rossett aaayyyyyy someone else who loves treecko/sceptile easily one of the better looking starters.
My sceptile bros treeko/sceptile is the best pokemon ever
I always used swellow, but it seems that crobat can do his job much better
Thank you
Exploud is just so bad tho. I leveled one up in a play though and it requires way more exp then most Pokemon while not being nearly as good 😑
I’ll never leave my Swellow.

Swellow saved my ass multiple times. I'll always stand by it

A breloom is an amazing idea
It's fast, strong
Grass and fighting type
Moves, Giga drain. Upper cut. ( which will help when if the opponent has used fly). Mach punch. And some other move which will provide type coverage.
It can be useful against steven.
Walace.
And sydney from the elite 4
It can be used for catching many pokemon.
with expert ability (50% more dmg to 0-60 dmg base atack) mach punh base 40 (60) bullet seed 25 (37.5 per atack) rock tomb 60 (90) and idk (force palm 60 (90) or if u prefer power-up punch 40 (60) +1 atack buff per use )
giga drain....on breloom. with 60 sp atk base..nah. breloom has only one grass type physical move and that's seed bomb.
You can actually get a Makuhita before Dewford by trading a Slakoth for one with a boy in Rustboro.
With the nickname makit really saved my ass and gave me an early fighting type
When I played Emerald, my team consisted of the following:
Swampert
Breloom
Swellow
Manetric
Linoone
Camerupt
I plan on getting Alpha Sapphire somewhen so I might incorporate a Gardevoir in place of Linoone and a Crobat in place of Swellow considering Fairy types are a thing. Otherwise, it'll be the same.
Try making a team with only gen 3 Pokémon
these are only gen 3 pokemo- oh wait zubat
Oshawott TV Crobat is available in gen 3. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the games, but only in FR/LG that you can't evolve Golbat until you get the national pokedex, however Crobat is in the hoenn dex.
No, it's in gen 2
Crobat is gen 2 idiot
Exactly, I wan to see a team with only hoenn Pokémon, or gen 3

VictorGamer 16 The reason I came to this video is for the originals
VictorGamer 16 nice
Great video man! You don't really actually need a flyer in this game thanks to Eon flute though! Sure it make be a lot quicker to just use fly, but I prefer riding on Latios just for the simple fact it looks great, and imo, it's a bit more fun that way! But! If you don't necessarily want to wait through all that animation, flying is totally the way to go.
totally! it's only recommended because you don't get the eon flute towards the very late game. Going from city to city can be annoying as well because of the Evil Teams quests.
Very true dude! I hadn't really considered that haha. This is why I don't have a channel. lol
I recommend switching Crobat with Salamence or Altaria since Dragon is a much better typing. Salamence’s moveset is diverse enough to cover weaknesses
The problem with salamance is you can't get him till you have all the badges then you have to grind him from a bagon to a salamance at which point he is only helping you with the elite four two of which he is vulnerable to ice and dragon elite four members
@@hoseaosborn7271
That's true, but it's still better than crobat.
@@hoseaosborn7271 You can get Swablu/Altaria sooner.
Yah but can you give me the moveset? For the aggron
This team is gonna suck but here it goes:
Blaziken
Gardevoir
Sharpedo
Manectric
Breloom
Flygon
Hope I didn't do terrible. I'm replaying the games with a legit team this time cause the first time I played this game I just put pokemon with moves I thought were OP (they weren't) on my team.

manectric- thunderbolt flamethrower double team voltswitch
absol- x scissor night slash flamethrower aerial ace
Swampert has the highest base stats of any starter across all the generations
Andre Bonnet thats just 1...
Blaziken is uber enough said
I only like Blaziken as it was the first Fire-Fighting type, and is pretty good. But you can't beat back my main choice, Meme-Cheeks! XD
Should've done the original
Agreed. Original would've been nice. And originals are easy access with the Roms and an emulator.
Leggy

I have the worst PC ever and it doesnt lag. Just use VisualBoyAdvanced and make sure you get the rom from a good source
Couldn't you just use the latias or latios to fly around
Fernando Its just for them holes with the legend stuff and for mirage spots.
Fernando they are talking about the original
they put roost on crobat, that is not available in gen 3, they set this up for ORAS
That feature is available late game
Peachy thats the point
I just wanna say I was gonna use five of the Pokémon and was so happy when I saw them in this video
+MysticUmbreon Oh okay, its just that is the way I always have mine, sorry if I came across as a jerk or know-it-all.
nah not at all suggestions are cool :)
For me... Treecko= Torchic= Mudikip.
You don’t need a flyer just use the eon flute
Nintapple agreed

He means Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. And I have to agree with him since those games are monumentally harder then ORAS.
Awesome video mystic, would u replace gardevoir for gallade or is there a significant difference?
Ummm maybe. I dont really like Gallade because it's fighting moves learnset isn't as good. But I guess it could be an option :)
alright thanks for the tip, i just realized that you added a hariyama and two fighting types wouldnt be too good, thanks anyway :)

Thanks so much for your videos. I kinda lost the interest in Pokémon a few years ago and never managed to finish ORAS and X/Y. But I definitely will now, and im so hyped for Sword and Shield.
The only Pokémon in this list im not eager to use is Hariyama, but it's a good choice
yeahhh I think I understand what you mean in your last part
Why not hariyama? It's really tanky. It can even tank slaking's deadly retaliate.
Altaria is best flyer
When you mega evolve, it has fairy typing...
It has dragon moves and opponent couldn't hit it back!!!
80 spd even when mega evolved? and even the type change has x4 weakness to ice. it's a joke i hope
This is the team I’m using for my current play through of OR:
1. Swampert with Ice Beam, Hammer Arm, Waterfall, and Earthquake
2. Roserade with Toxic spikes, shadow ball, giga drain, and stun spore
3. Gallade with psychic, psycho cut, confusion, and double team
4. Manectric with discharge, bite, volt switch, and overheat
5. Crobat with X-Scissor, Fly, Confuse Ray, and Venoshock
6. Lairon with Strength, Iron Defense, Rock Slide, and Iron Tail
Team is definitely a work in progress, and Lairon is one level away from evolving. Really gotta fix up Gallade’s moves too.

4.) Absol
5.) Flygon
6.) Skarmory

Metagross (the shiny event one) - Pursuit, Iron Head, Zen Headbutt, Hammer Arm
Froslass - Shadow Ball, Ice Beam, Hidden Power (Bug), Hail
Absol - Night Slash, X-Scissor, Psycho Cut, Swords Dance
Hardly ideal, in hindsight, but I had great fun.

I go for Fire starters in pretty much every generation, it's especially useful in Gen 3 because you can catch Wingull right at the beginning for a water type and it is very bulky and powerful once it evolves, just teach it Surf and you're all set basically.

You really would go with Double team instead of Charge beam, Snarl, hyper beam or hidden power(hidden power is not always good but has potential at least)? bruh
+Ipa damn those are good lol
+MysticUmbreon THANK YOU IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
+MysticUmbreon why no Gallade
Sometimes ya need ta dodge
You don't get a Dawn Stone until Victory Road. Pressing B every time Kirlia tries to evolve will be a pain, haha!
During Omega Ruby, my team was swampert, shiny metagross, swellow, hariyama, torkoal, and glalie. They were all unique in their own way.
I haven't played ORAS, but I've played RSE. Here was my most recent Ruby team, that will also prove to be useful in ORAS:
Magnezone: Thunderbolt, Flash Cannon, Lock-On, Thunder
Vileplume: Energy Ball, Dazzling Gleam, Sludge Bomb, Stun Spore
Milotic: Surf, Ice Beam, Dragon Pulse, Mirror Coat
Donphan: Rock Slide, Earthquake, Thunder Fang, Sandstorm
Mega Salamence: Dragon Claw, Crunch, Double-Edge, Iron Tail
Blaziken: Flamethrower, Bulk Up, Blaze Kick, Sky Uppercut
Magnezone and Mega Salamance weren't in RSE unless you're implying that you're gonna use them in ORAS
+GammaDaWizard I was proposing a team for others to use in ORAS, derived from my most recent game in Ruby
I might add that, if you're playing Lock On, Zap Cannon is a lot better than Thunder.
+Dragon Man Zap Cannon does more damage and paralyzes opponents. Hence, it is better.
My current team for Omega Ruby is
Sceptile
Camerupt
Sharpedo
Manectric
Hariyama
Swellow
I honestly recommend this so highly. I’ve been able to one shot nearly every single gym with this team, although I did a lot of grinding so it may have been the level difference, but it’s so versatile and there isn’t a single member that’s fallen behind in usefulness for me.
Swampert - 3:20
Gardevoir - 5:06
Hariyama - 7:58
Crobat - 10:10
Manectric - 12:19
Absol - 14:06
you call that a team, real men add a tropius, walrein or ludicolo to the team. My G-squad: Swampert, Dusclops, Tropius, Shiny Linone, Gallade, and Claydol.
You don't have to use only "badass" Pokemon its all about variaty, Tropuis and Linone would be the last pokemon almost anyone would think about on a team.
I fuck with this team heavily, awesome
Michael Collazo your team is kinda trash but its about what you like lol
Michael Collazo you have a shiny linoone as well? I got one as the first pkmn to catch with my Torchic at the start of the game :3
There is no bad team, you can make anything work if you want. For crying out loud, I used Hypno on one of my recent teams. HYPNO. Underrated pokemon, great movepool. I called him Pennywise.
My oras team
Swampert

where d fuk is pokeyman starter?
No starter?
It’s decent, but where’s the starter?
pokemon club X you can choose to put your starter in the team if ya want
Do you actually need a flyer since you have the Eon Flute?
zylokun not really it’s just annoying not too have. But if you get salamance use fly on that’s, which isn’t that hard too find.
Don’t you unlock it end of game though?
@@mudkip0153 no. You get it pretty early actually
zylokun You get Latios/Latias early on but you get the eon flute after you beat the Elite Four for the first time
@@mahnamecobra5686 really? For some reason i swear I remember getting it right when you get Latios/Latias
right from steven..
Honestly just run mudkip for the whole game
Time to trigger everyone with the power of research
●Swampert: the only thing you should worry about is your rival Sceptile. It's Mega Form's ability (Swift Swim) is amazing, Having it's speed boosted in the rain helps you out speed stuff and causes it's stab water moves get a boost
●Blaziken: you have to worry about Team Aqua, Magma, Water Gym, the Flying Gym and Rock Type Gym (before you evolve torchic),the 7th Gym, and finally the 8th Gym (better have Omega Ruby if you have Blaziken). However it destroys the First gym (if its a Combusken) 5th Gym, Sidney, Glacia, and Steven. It's Speed Boost from it's Mega Form is REALLY helps to out speed stuff
●Sceptile: You have to worry about the 4th Gym, 6th Gym, Team Magma, Glacia, Drake (If Mega Evolved) and Steven. It DESTROYS the First Gym, 7th Gym, 8th Gym, Team Aqua, and Drake (if taught Dragon type moves). It's Mega Ability (Lightning Rod) isn't very good because it resists electric types anyway (especially its Mega)
A Casual TH-cam Channel On the 8th gym ypu have to worry about ice type attacks.
SWAMPERT RULES
McDermott Gaming hell yeah
I used, Blaziken, Cacturne, Armaldo, Milotic, Gardevoir and Salamence in my playthrough.
My preferred Hoenn team:
Blaziken
Gardevoir
Crobat
Salamence
Raichu
Milotic
torchic is the best starter for O.R.A.S
Devastatorking6 sorry but no
UB-06 Austin Good choices, man. As for meself, I prefer a slightly different approach than Mystic, though I can definitely see why he came to these conclusions:
1. Swampert (Admittedly, this guy I did agree 100% on this, as he's perhaps objectively the most potent against Hoenn)
2. Gardevoir (I was always a fan of this lovely lady of Hoenn, so I had to put her on!)
3. Crobat (Hands down one of the best flying types in the caves, no question)
4. Linoone (Albeit temporarily, as I kinda need him for at least MOST of my journey), and replacing with Banette as soon as possible
5. Flygon (Sure, evolving it can be a pain in the ass at first, but once you get past the 26 level mark, it's relatively easy, especially with Super Training and Pokemon-Amie being a thing)
6. Aggron
UB-06 Austin Pure gold there
joinmarch76 why aggron? You already have a ground type, and steel and rock combined is pretty terrible
Personally, I’d replace Hariyama with Breloom. One of the best Grass types and Fighting types when it comes to ORAS.
yeah breloom is better with the seed bomb
Reyrey Eve Also, technician Mach punch. Of course that’s a hidden ability, so poison heal is very amazing too.
I'm going to use heracross once I buy alpha sapphire
@@reyreyeve9587 which it doesn't learn it till 44....

Lazy and boring. Maybe do something interesting if you want likes.
Grabbing the level 3 pooycheyana at the beginning really helps because it knows fire fang
Actually, it's level 5

And deciding between manetric or camerupt
Manetric and Camerupt is a hard decision, but I would go with manetric. Electric types could really help in a lot of gyms. (Flying, Water, Ice, Steel, Etc.)
personally from these 2 choices id go for camerrupt since gardevoir with calm mind and thunderbolts can do wonders
Me: this is familiar
(I had a team where 4/6 could mega)
I had a full 6/6 team lul

Nah I think Its Decent.....
