Hopefully there’s enough snowpack this year to fill the lake again. You really shouldn’t be able to see the stumps. Last time I was up there you could drive way out onto the lakebed.
Those clearcut areas are just so sad looking. They're not part of my experience (SoCal) and I fear I'd just be depressed traveling through areas like that.

I think people these days are getting a false perception on the actual capabilities of all of these new SUV's being advertised. They look good on TV....
Hyundai in that snow is just a bad idea all-around. AWD is fairly worthless with nothing for clearance & shoddy all-season tires. I’ve pulled a Kia, Tesla, & Nissan (Rogue) off the snow banks so far this Winter. All were AWD vehicles; the Tesla being dual motor, but people are clueless when it comes to tire selection & navigating snow/ice.
