Idina and Lea’s duet in this episode is one of the BEST in this entire series. People can say what they want about Lea Michele, but her voice is spectacular. Her and Idina sound GORGEOUS together. I had the same reaction when this episode first aired. ❤️
the "dream on" duet will forever be iconic! kevin mchale (artie) was actualy in a boy band before glee, he is definetly one of the best dancers from the main cast. the glee creators didn;t know he could dance like that until after shooting the show whn kevin was outdancing most of the cast while dancing on a wheelchair
Just like you said my favorite thing about this show are the characters. They're caricatures and fully fleshed out at the same time. They can be extremely unlikable one moment and your favorite the next while (for the most part) staying consistent.
One of the great bummers of the show - how good a dancer the actor who plays Artie is, but he doesn't get to show it off because his character is in a wheelchair. Which is why I liked the flash mob dream sequence. It gave Kevin a chance to shine in a different way. I do appreciate that they don't take that away from his character, though. It's an emotional struggle that would weigh heavily on Artie, who used to be able to walk, so it's understandable that he still dreams about dancing.
Check out the current season of RuPauls Secret Celebrity Drag Competition. I am 1000 percent sure the Keven (Artie) is Chik Li Fay. His killer performance in episode 3 with Rihanna’s Bitch Better have my money is ICONIC. He slayed everyone with that performance.
That I dreamed a dream duet literally left me speechless the first time, powerful shit. I kind of wished it had been the last number though, would have been ten times as gut wrenching. Their voices really do sound amazing together. Dream On is also top of my list of not only glee covers but covers in general. Neil Patrick Harris is LEGENDARY and he killed his half of the duet. They both did. 😄
Fun Fact: Neil Patrick Harris who plays Bryan Ryan as well Jayma Mays plays Emma Pillsbury later appear in The Smurfs 1-2 where they play as husband-wife
Probably one of my favorite season 1 duets. Matthew and Neil sounded amazing!! (And I remember replaying the end section a few times, because they blended so well that at first I couldn't tell who hit the high note at the very end. And also just because I wanted to hear it again and again, lol. Neil rocked those notes.)
I felt like I was in a dream when watching this. This episode man. Good song choices. I loved to see Artie out of that chair and dancing his butt off-he was obviously the best dancer out of the whole cast but the shows creators decide to keep him in the wheelchair, and the only other chance we see him dance is in the Michael episode during Scream where Artie dances with Mike. Dream On was one of Shue's best performances and that duet was amazing. Also, Neil Patrick Harris as a guest star is a big surprise(one of the best guest stars on the show). I Dreamed A Dream was super powerful, anytime Idina/Lea do a duet, I cry because of how beautiful they sound together. The only other duet I can remember at the moment is Poker Face and in season 6 Rachel sings Let It Go. And Dream A LIttle Dream of Me was a great way to end the episode. Everyone has a dream and I guess Glee's message is that Dreams Do Come True so it's no surprise this episode was one of the best out of season 1.
I remember when I watched this episode, I still didn't trust Jesse or Rachel's mom because they pushed it SO hard for Rachel to listen to her mom's tape. While on the one hand it would be nice for Rachel to know her mom (and for us to get to hear them sing together), on the other hand it should be her choice when she's ready to listen to the tape or reach out to her mom. She shouldn't be pushed into it. I felt like them forcing this on Rachel might throw her off emotionally and thus distract her from the upcoming show choir competition, and if that's Vocal Adrenaline's game, that's pretty crappy.
I was already obsessed with Glee by the time this episode aired, but this episode solidified my love! That Aerosmith duet is killer. I was one of those chicks who went straight to the iTunes Store after an episode ended and bought all the songs from each episode so I could have them on my iPod the next day.
I don't think I watched past the 2nd season of Glee, but I really don't know how it could get any better than this. Peak performances all around. Plus NPH, one of my favorite actors!
I haven't been watching your glee reactions because I would have to rewatch the show BUT - NPH and Matthew Morrison's performance of Dream On was my favorite of the entire series so I HAD to comment
Kevin McHale is such a good dancer and singer I actually listen to his songs from after glee all the time. It is a shame he had to be in a chair instead of dancing, but he plays being in a chair really well I didn’t even know until this episode that he could walk in real life.
Yeah! Finally the Safety Dance episode, that rates in my top ten favorite performances on the show. Not a spoiler just something to look forward to……he gets another great cover, also one of my favorites of his, that includes no wheelchair and some awesome dance movies in another season
Aerosmith is my favourite band and has been since high school (jeez like 20 years ago now) and I am super critical of anyone covering their stuff BUT I actually really loved this version (NPH certainly helps, love his voice) and the two of them together is just *chef's kiss*
idina menzel and lea michelle is one of the best mother daughter castings on tv ever made
All I hear is Elsa lol
@@GA-fn8hr let it go 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I love the duet with Matthew and Neil, but I always thought Dream On is a very odd choice as an audition songs for Les Miserables
Very lol
I love this episode.
Matthew Morison has never sounded better than in this episode
Neal is so good here. But his best role is Count Olaf in a series of unfortunate events. Such a good show.
You should find Kevin McHale's (Archie) drag performance!
NPH!!!!! ❤
