I agree with everything you say, unfortunately I have discovered, to my own personal cost, that not all colour consultants are as good as others. I had my colours done in my forties by a lady who trained consultants for a big organisation, and was diagnosed as a deep autumn. I had previously thought I was a winter, as I am quite pale, and had very dark hair. The deep autumn colours turned out to look brilliant on me and I wore those colours alone for several decades. Then, as I started to tone in some grey with a slightly lighter brown hair colour, and my eyes lightened and got less warm, those colours did not look so good any more. Unfortunately, the original lady had retired, so I went to another in the same organisation and she told me I was a bright spring. As you say, in your video, I could not see the colours working on me during the consultation, but I tried them for about a year. She also told me to redye my hair back to dark brown, to make the bright spring colours "work" which felt slightly suspicious to me. Since then, I have gone to other consultants and come out as a warm autumn and a warm spring, but did not really believe either, so reluctantly have become disenchanted with the whole concept and somewhat lost in a sea of colours that random again, as before my first analysis. Not all analysts are equal and it is just too hard to find a good one.
So sorry to hear you had this experience after feeling at home in your colors for many years. Often as Autumn women “cool” their colors can need to become a bit more neutral in temperature -if you really resonated with your original analysis then you could experiment with those colors by just going a little less warm-check out some of my Autumn palettes on FB or IG and you’ll see what I mean
